Thanks, Lorianne, for the tips and advice. You are right....it is harder when you reach your "goal" weight. Here I am at my goal and my body comp is still not right. So, what now!
My problem is that I DON'T have a great muscle base.....much less lean, obviously, than I thought. So, I can't risk losing any. I think I'll keep the protein high, calories more modest, increase cardio, keep up with the weights, and see where that gets me. My next bodpod will be September 19, so we'll see how my experiment works!

Well, you look fantastic, and I think your muscle base is a lot stronger that you think! You certainly have enough going on that maybe by doing a concerted effort on individual groups, you will see that shift. I think if you continue on with the weights and maybe increase the cardio slightly, you should see some difference in your next BodPod. Your weight is fantastic and you should feel so proud to be at your goal! Even though it is frustrating, isn't it nice to now be at the point where you can solely focus on turning your body into the % compositions that you want instead of just agonizing over weight loss??

Here comes the rain again
. . .Saving my poor knees from running! I was all ready to get in a 3 mile run today, but I'm taking this nasty storm that just blew in as a sign from the Gods that it's not meant to be. Sometimes you just can't argue with nature, right?
Well, Tuesday's kickboxing turned into waking up Wednesday with some serious soreness about my upper body--specifically through the chest and delts. So, I puttered around and did some biceps and figured it would be a good day to focus on legs.
Wednesday:
Alt. Supinating Bicep Curls: 1x15e x 15, 1x6e x 25
Lying Extended Pull-ups (underhand grip): 1x14xBW, 1x11xBW
Squats (or the version that Ginger's trainer calls deadlifts-I have a secret name for them that I shall not post here.): 1x20x65, 1x15x75, 1x10x85
Glute Lunges: 1x15e x 20, 1x10e x 30
Went to the stairs and ran 15 laps, avg. HR 129, which is smack-dab in my prime zone, so felt just dandy about that! Did 5 at a time, then walked down and around the hill, the 2nd time down, did walking pendulum lunges. Looked like a complete moron, thankfully I no longer possess an ounce of pride.
Knees have been really bugging me, thinking it's time for new shoes. Kind of relieved I have the storm as an excuse not to go run, just not feeling it today. Plan on getting in an all-over med. weight workout later with emphasis on balance. Busting out the wobble board today!

Hi Lori! Can you explain to me what glute lunges are?
You're doing so well and your workouts are impressive!

Hey Karen! I call them "glute lunges", I've also seen the same move called a "split squat". It's a lunge where your back leg is on an elevated platform, step, bench, chair, etc. and then the forward leg does the lunging. I do mine using 10" of steps, but by varying the height of your platform, you get different muscle activation. The weights indicated are dumbbells held in each hand to add resistance.
Thanks so much for the kind words of encouragement!!

Okay, thanks for the info. Everyone seems to call everything something different and I can't always remember which exercises are the same thing, LOL.
BTW, I don't know if you ever mailed the TNT book that got sent back to you, but if you did it is lost somewhere in the system because it never got here. I wanted to let you know that I didn't just forget to tell you. Just thought about it when reading some posts from a while back.
I have been reading up on the logs I think are "fat loss focused" for the time being because I am trying to figure out what program to use when I finish Stage 7 in NROL4W. It's looming on finishing this week and I'm still working on the final decision--seems kind of pathetic to me because I usually have no trouble making decisions . . .

I was wondering!! I didn't expect a trumpet fanfare, but I figured you would let me know when you recieved that book. I will get online and track it. I'll also check with my husband who was responsible for taking it to the shipping drop. . .he's been known to drop the ball every now and again, so God help him if your package is still residing in his truck. Will be following up ASAP-- Hopefully I won't be posting a workout that reads: "The day I beat Geno's Ass."

Yeah, I was thinking that right around now you're starting to think I'm just rude and didn't let you know. But, really, I haven't seen it either. I hope Geno's okay, too, and didn't get into too much trouble .

You might consider only going parallel on your squats to save you knees. I know people on here poo-poo this but I have heard too many people say otherwise from experience (including my own trainer) that going below parallel is harder on the knees. Also make sure you go down slowly into the squats and don't drop down and explode up as that kills knees.
I don't know..... Just some thoughts....

Hi there!
I've been out of the loop for so long now--I've checked in a little here and there, thought about it tonight, and lo and behold had a little "bump" from you! Thanks!!!
Things have been insanely busy here (I can't believe summer is almost over!) and that, combined with some personal issues, kind of dampened my enthusiasm for staying as involved here as I was. I did catch up a little on the last couple pages of your log and it looks like things are going great! It was cool to read that you are going to be using "Power Training"! I LOVE that book and have enjoyed it and the way it breaks down the workouts immensely, I think you will dig it for sure!!
I'm still kicking my butt on a regular basis. Have kept up with my BodPod BF% testing, and it has happily stayed moving in the right downward direction! LOL
Yep, that triathalon was yesterday actually! I had followed a strict training regimen for the last 9 weeks and felt as prepared as I possibly could, but Man was it hard! I just don't think anything can prepare you as much for the "real deal" than just doing it, and it was an awesome and humbling experience. I had hoped to finish in under 2 hours, but ended up exceeding that time frame by about 7 minutes. Still, as I sit here today in horrific pain (pretty much in EVERY muscle!!), it feels so cool to think that I actually did it--regardless if it was record-setting time or not! I'm not in a huge rush to sign up for another one, but a friend of mine and I are strongly considering doing a couple half-marathons in the Spring, so who knows!??
Well, just wanted to say Hi and keep up your hard work! Glad to see that things are good in your life! I'll try not to stay away for so dang long!!!!!

Wow that sounds like such an insanely amazing experience! I don't think I could ever do one of those... it may be a goal in the very far away future though! Glad things are going well with the bodpods and what not. Bri invested in those 1-site at home calipers so I've been using those for my bf%. It's not as high tech as the bod pod, but it works for me
Congrats again on the tri, how cool!
