Talking GinnyLou's NROL4W log (insert cute title here)

Ok, I just wanted to at least get a training log started. Here is some of my info from my joining post.
My name is Ginger and I am 35 and will be moving on to 36, next month.
I love working out and love what exercise, eating right and lifting weights are doing to my body.
I will be doing 3 workouts a week, as well as intervals. My measurements:
Height: 5'9.5
Weight: 171
Age: 35
chest: 36
rt. bicep: 11
Rt. thigh: 22.5
hips: 41
waist at belly button:34
Goals:
*I need to get this fat off and get it off, for good. I (obviously) tend to carry my weight in the belly area, the most.
*I want to burn fat and get lean.
*I am learning to work with the body I was given. I feel like I have spent most of my life, just trying to be as skinny as possible and those are no longer my goals and that is a HUGE accomplishment.

I'm excited about this challenge and think this place is flooded with like-minded people and just a ton of great information and inspiration!

I'll be back to add my schedule and logs.

Did workout B last night. I actually had started NROL4W last week, so that was the workout I was on. I am lov-ing this workout. I really thought when I first looked through it that I would feel challenged, but it has proven me wrong.

Deadlifts:
1-40lb/15 reps
2-50lb/15 reps
Note: I probably need to start with 50 next time, 40 is too light.
DB shoulder Press:
1-15 lbs/15 reps
2-15 lbs/15 reps
Wide Grip Lat pulldown:
1-65 lbs/15 reps
2-70 lbs/15 reps
Lunges:
1-12.5 lbs/15 reps
2-15 lbs/15 reps
Swiss Ball crunches:
1-BW/15 reps
2-BW/15 reps
I do realize it calls for less on these, but I need the 15.
I also did 30 minutes of intervals on the AMT machine, afterwards.

Yesterday, my food was a little iffy starting out, but got back on track.
The gym was super packed and I almost let that intimidate me, but I didn't. I am working through a weird fear/phobia of the free weight area, when the gym is full.

Welcome Ginny! This is one of the best forums there anywhere, drawing ALL the best people.

Getting enough calories is one of my challenges as well. Regarding crowded gyms, I know the feeling. Sometimes I want to turn around an walk back out. But remember why you are there. Get into the mind-set that you are the Alpha-Female of the free weight area and assert yourself!

Good Luck

Agreed - you've just as much right to be there as anyone else. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the challenge.

Hi Ginny-

I know what you are saying about learning to work with the body I've been given. I think one thing I love about weight lifting is that this is the first time in my life I've been thrilled to be big and tall and strong.

I'm 5' 10" and all through high school I always wished I was petite and cute. Ha. Tall chicks rock!

Hi Ginny, I wanted to stop by and say hello. I have the same phobia about the free weight room at my gym. There never seems to be any women back there and I feel like I stand out like a sore thumb. Its funny but I don't mind doing certain things, but I am very self conscience about the squat rack and doing deadlifts for some reason. Now I just fight my fears, hold my head up and walk back there. The truth is I am there for a reason and I keep telling myself nobody cares what I am doing they are to busy doing there on thing.

Hi Ginger (love the name Ginger!)

Your work outs look good. I feel that way sometimes in the weight room too, especially when I am trying a certain move for the first time.

Keep it up!

I used to just put on my headphones and IGNORE everyone! Now, I work out at home, and my cat could care less what I'm doing!

I used to feel that way too, but if you get back there, stay back there, and smile a lot, that feeling goes away. Now, when I'm throwing that weight around and their eyebrows go up to their hair lines, I feel very happy to be back there.

Hey Gin ! Just thought I'd pop in to say TY for stopping by mine & I wish you the best W/ your goals ! YOu can do it!! I just had to have that avatar,, glad you like it .. Really it makes me smile everyday when I see WW !!!! BTY---- The prone Jackknife is a lot hard to do in front of strangers in the weight room & I hate to do the calf thing , where you lay down on your stomach & you butt sticks up OHHHHHH How embarassing ! The deadlifts feel a little akward for me also when the weight room is full,,, I try to find a wall w/o a mirror to hide my backside while doing those AB
