If you do look, you'll just have to live in denial 'til you get there like me.
I hear you on not wanting to take a long break between stage 1 and stage 2. I don't want to because I know that with DD sick I can get sick at any time and because I know I have to take a one week break for Spring Break when we go to DisneyLand. There is no way workouts will happen when we have 10 people to accomodate. I am still on the fence and probably won't decide until Sunday night when I plan the workout week ahead.
Still looking forward to your meeting with the personal trainer . . .
Thanks, Jane! I am sticking to my guns and not looking. I'll live in denial, for a while. LOL

This is a way belated happy birthday, but I figured a little late is better than never.
Awesome workouts, girl. You're totally owning this program!
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by

Oh and happy, if not belated, birthday from one Aquarius to another.
Well then, same to you! Aquarians rock. LOL

Hi Karen, I'll be anxious to see what you decide. I think as long as we are intune and listening to our body and making our decisions based on that, we are good to go. DisneyLand sounds fun! Shoot, the words "Spring Break" sound divine. I am done with this winter weather.
So, I had my first workout this morning with the new trainer and I am so pumped over it. A little shaky, even 2 hours later but what a great way to start the day!
We did a back day. Deadlifts (the real deal, with the oly bar!) 3X10X115 lbs DB Deadlifts 2X10X55 (my trainer wanted to show me the difference in the 2) Rope pull throughs (tricep cable rope through the legs, up and contract)
3X10X55lbs Face Pulls (with the rope, elbows up) 3X10X55lbs Chest pulls (1 foot up on bench, leaning back and pulling handle to rib cage) 2X10X55lbs Bent over Rows 1X15X50, 1X15X60, 1X16X60
I'll go back tonight and do some cardio. It was a great workout and he is full of facts, which is what I loved about one of my previous trainers. He expressed interest in looking more into the NROL4W workouts, so I am going to let him borrow my book. He did say he asked someone that he knew about the specifics, so that is good.
You'll have to forgive me on the names of the exercises, I am sure they aren't the "proper" ones, but it's all I got.
We also talked about my goals. He is glad that I want to build muscle and that I have gotten rid of my old mindset of not lifting and just trying to be as "skinny" as I can be.
Good stuff and what a great way to start Valentine's Day!

Ginger, does this mean you are stopping NROL4W and going with your trainer's workout instead?
Nope, not one bit. I'll space out my weight days, with the stages and work with my trainer once a week. He is definitely interested in keeping me going with what I have been doing (heavier lifting). It may take me longer to get through the stages, but I am sticking with it.
It will all work out.

Wow, you're hard-core. What a solid looking workout you had this morning. Have a nice Valentine's Day too!
No, not really. I'll just do some HIIT and I would have done it this morning, but my session ran a little longer and I needed to get my butt to work.

Still inspiring. If I hadn't been able to my HIIT I just would have said: "okay, I'll do it tomorrow then." Going back for a round 2 on the same day shows huge committment.

Well, thank you. I keep reminding myself that spring will be here before I know it and I am determined to look good in a tank top.

You sound estactic over your first workout with Christian, and I think it is fantastic that not only do you have the NROL4W program to train by, but you will also be able to add in the day of training with him! Talk about taking the bull by the horns!! I know you are more than capable of handling the NROL workouts as well as anything he may throw at you, and I'm so happy for you. Your morning workout looks pretty fierce, and my hat is off to you for going BACK tonight to get in some HIIT! You are a machine! Thanks for being so determined, focused and an inspiration for me!
I am so far behind in my log. This weekend was kind of crazy and I just haven't sat down long enough to get caught back up, but here I am.
So, I did not (wimp!) go back for HIIT, Thursday night. I was plenty sore from my morning workout and just felt that was the best decision.
Friday was a day off. My brother was leaving Saturday morning for a 6 month, Air Force mission so he and his fiance came into town for a visit. My kids love him dearly and I am so glad he took the time to come spend some time with them. I hope the 6 months flies by and that he stays safe.
Ok, so needless to say I have been somehwhat of a basketcase. Luckily, I stayed on track with my food, even though that is usually the first to go. I did splurge off of my "no alcohol" rule and had a really big glass of wine Friday evening, but I needed it.
Saturday morning I finally officially got started with Stage 2, Workout A.
I went pretty low on many of these exercises, because I want to make sure I have the form down.
Front Squat/Push Press

2X6X45lbs, took a breather then did another 6X45lbs

Static lunge (10 each leg)
1X10X15lbs
Push ups
BWX10
Static Lunge (10 each leg)

Today (Sunday)
I did some upper body work (chest, triceps and biceps)
Then did HIIT intervals on the step mill
Tomorrow will be Stage 2, Workout B and some HIIT

I start Stage 2 tomorrow, so I've read up on the exercises and all the logs I can find that people are at Stage 2. Looks like things are going really well for you and you've found a trainer that's on the same page as you are for the strength training.
Wow... Congrats on getting a trainer that you click with. That is a tough thing to do. I will be reading this with much interest to see how you manage to do both trainer and NROL4W.

Hi Karen,
Good luck with Stage 2, I'm sure you'll kick some butt. Yes, loving the new trainer and I feel like between this program and my workouts with him, something good will come of it.
Diane,
So you cuss, too? Glad to know I am not alone.

Hey Tracey,

Hi Karla,
Tell me about it. I have worked with 4 trainers in the last year and after the 1st one left the gym, THIS was the trainer I wanted to work with. I
He will kick my ass accordingly and I will work in the NROLW4W workouts, all while resting my body. It might just take me a little longer to get through it.

Great job Ginny! I'm tired just reading your workout. Can't wait to start Stage 2.
Hi LN! Good luck with Stage 2, thanks for stopping by.
Ok, I had said today would be Workout B, Stage 2, #1 however, I remembered that tomorrow will be a leg workout with my trainer and I didn't want to push it, so I went and did 45 minutes on the AMT. 8 rounds of intervals. 1 min at level 9, 2 minutes recovery at level 6.

Man-that is an awesome workout! Yay for you on the BB lunges and the Sumo Squats! Sounds like Christian is doing right by you, and I can almost hear the excitement just reading what you typed.
