Hi Ginger, thanks for stoppin in my journal! Happy Birthday! (yesterday)I am 36 and it totally doesn't suck....
You are doing so great, keep it up. I can see a total difference in your one month pics. You are a contender for the Challenge!
Have a great weekend, Rebecca
Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for stopping by and for the Birthday wishes. I will take your word about the big 3-6! You have a good weekend, too!

Happy Birfday! How are you celebrating?
Thanks, Tom! Well, my Mom brought over dinner and a cake last night. It was hard, because to be honest, I wasn't feeling the cheat but I ate some and just limited my portions. I got some cool presents and that is always nice. I think I was most excited about my new sweat towels for the gym, LOL.
I think my Hubby and I may go out this weekend sans kids and I am looking forward to that. Not sure what we will do.
We did purchase a new weight bench with a squat rack last weekend, so that was pretty exciting.

yay ginger, isn't it fun to see progress!!! scale weight is only one measure, I am learning.
Wendy,
I totally agree and it is so nice to not be obsessed with the scale, anymore. I am still at the same weight, but my favorite jeans are starting to be pretty big around the waist.
Last night was special workout B. It was a good workout and I definitely have some DOMS going on. Special Workout B, Stage 1 NROL4W - AMRAP Deadlifts: 40lbsX38 reps (Ended with 90 - gain of 50 lbs) Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 12.5lbsX28 reps (ended with 22.5 - gain 10 lbs) Wide Grip Lat Pull Down: 27.5X56 reps (ended with 85 lbs - gain of 55) Lunges: 20lbsX25 each leg (ended with 50 lbs - gain of 30 lbs) SB Crunch:BWx68 (ended with 10lb plate)
So, if I breakdown my gains on Workout A Squats - AMRAP Start: 65lbs End: 105 (40 lb gain) Pushups
I started out barely being able to do one real one and can now do 18!!! Seated Row
Start: 55lbs End:85 (30 lb gain) Step-ups
Start: 10lbs End: 17.5 (7.5 lb gain) Prone Jackknives
BWx18
I am heading off to the gym in a few for some cardio intervals and I want to speak with one of the trainers about maybe working with him once a week, for a while.
I also picked up the TNT Diet book yesterday and would like to get it read this weekend. I'm thinking I may give it a try.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I think you will like TNT. You are doing great by the way.
I am sure you mentioned it earlier but, how many kids do you have?
I have a 3 year old girl, she keeps me busy!

Hi Rebecca,
I have a 12 year old son and a 5 (almost 6) year old daughter. They keep me on my toes, for sure! Thanks for kind remarks. I really think if I can tweak my diet somehow, I can see even better results.

Congratulations on your gains! It must feel great to do those push-ups!
Have a nice weekend!
Thank you! You too!

Me, too! I'd love to hear all about your adventure with TNT as we both go through it.
Have you already started, Diane?
I need to get the book read and go the grocery store.

I "officially" started yesterday since I just happened to have TNT-friendly stuff all day. LOL Then I went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon and bought TNT-friendly foods for the week. So, yeah, I guess I've started.
I'm only about halfway through the book right now but will finish it up in the next couple of days (or maybe today if things go right).
Holy Crap, 68 crunches, I don't think I will get past 20! Good for you!!!
Great gains on your strength too!
Hi there! Thanks for the compliment, I am feeling them today, for sure. LOL They seemed easier without that plate.
Well, I got to talk to the trainer today and I am all set up to work out with him once a week, 6:30 a.m.,Tuesday mornings for 13 weeks. Stoked!
I did some light cardio on the AMT, just to loosen up the tightness in my legs, 20 minutes.

Nice - I'll be interested to see what he has you doing. I know mine comes up with some off the wall stuff.

I am thrilled to hear that you were able to talk to Christian and set up some training! I can't wait to hear all about your convo. with him, and I'm sure he is psyched to finally get to work with you after seeing you in there all the time and admiring your efforts!

(Typed as I sit here eating sausage. LOL)
I did finish the book and to be honest, I have some reservations about plan A. I am not a big meat eater and I am SO accustomed to my oatmeal, so I am still "on the fence"...... I think the diet being so high in fat scares me a little.

I'm sure the workouts will be great. I am anxious to get them started.

Thanks for the push during our conversation, to get me to do this. I swear, talking things out with you always helps.

You and Diane just holler if you have any TNT questions!
Thanks, Jane! Your success is definitely the motivation behind me checking it out. I may have some questions and haven't quite decided whether to do it full force or not.

Great job on completing Stage 1. Happy belated Birthday and hope you love having a trainer!
Thank you, Karen! I've worked with a couple of other trainers and had one that I really gelled with, but he got promoted and transferred to another location. He was the first one to really focus on me lifing heavy.
This new trainer, I have had my eye on, so to speak.
Well, the weather here is dreadful. I made it to the gym ontime and prepared for my 1st session and he didn't show. I am chalking it up to miscommunication and will get rescheduled ASAP.
Last night I did some cardio and did some more cardio this morning. Today is day 5, off from weights and I am anxious to get started with Stage 2.

I just saw your special workout - 38 deadlifts!?!?! That is very impressive. Sorry the trainer didn't show. I'm impressed at your dedication to go in this weather. I took a snow day.
Definitely a bummer that your first meeting w/Christian didn't pan out. From what you've said, he doesn't sound like the type to flake out, so I'm sure it was a miscommunication or bad weather issue.
At least you were there at the gym, and were able to jump start your day--that's got to make you feel fantastic! : )
Weather here is awful too! Counting the days until Spring is sprung!!!

Hi Leah,
Well, I was pretty light to start out with, so it was easier to pull them off but I did feel them the next day, LOL! The one good thing about the crappy weather this morning was that all the showers were available!!

Hey Lori! I hear that. Loud and clear.

Ginger - you are kickin' butt and takin' names, girl!!!
Thanks, Tracey.
Well, I talked to my trainer and since I had just gotten all this squared away on Saturday, we didn't have the opportunity to exchange numbers and his other clients had called him and cancelled. I'm back on his schedule for this Thursday at 6:30.
I am jonesing real bad to start up Stage 2 and I think I am going to roll with that. I've taken 5 days off the weights and I am pretty intune with my body, so I am going with it.
I did go down to my home gym and do all the exercises in workout A and man, I am nervous. These are hard.Talking to Lori tonight on the phone about it and she did remind me that we are only doing 4 workouts of each a and B, so that eased up the stress a little. LOL
I did so some intervals this morning and it felt good to get my HR pumping to start the day. I am thinking I may head there in the morning and do the same. That will probably prepare me a little better, so I can get used to lifting in the mornings.
My food is on and it feels good to be consistent.
