It does, too, look like a lot! The total number of reps you're doing are freaking impressive! Great job!!
Nice workout, Ginger!! Glad to hear the bike tire didn't create any major catastrophe!! LOL at your daughter being a drama queen - how old is she?
She is 6 and you would have thought she had been tossed from the bike by the way she was acting, LOL. So we both looked pretty funny walking the bike back to the Jeep.

Another grain wimp here LOL
I'm gonna go with a good 5 days. Last night I was able to buy and watch my children eat those Drumsticks icecream bars and not have one thought of tackling them and grabbing the goods and this is an improvement. LOL

Exactly, look at you. You are the reason I am doing this. Well, you and that bikini of yours and how you look in it.

I am cracking up at your daughter ! I have a drama queen, too, and her teacher last year told me that she has the most personality of any of the kids she's taught in 30 years--I sometimes wasn't sure if that was good or bad .
Anyway, I love your workouts, especially the ones that don't look that hard when you type them out.
Five days of cravings . . . I'm really gonna have to consider if I can do that. At five days, I'm afraid I'd eat the drumsticks and the box they came in !
They never do - those are the ones you have to watch out for. Nice job.
Isn't that the truth? Thank you.

I am glad I am not the only one with a drama girl. She does make life more interesting, but sometimes it is really hard not to laugh at her.
Yesterday was back day. My thighs were still pretty sore and I was nervous about that, but once I got all warmed up then I was good to go.
WU Wide grip lat pulldowns
60X10, 70X10, 70X10 Seated Rows
60X10, 70X10, 70X10
I took yesterday off from cardio. Did none in the morning and took last night off from the gym.
This morning (Friday) I did 20 minutes on the step mill.

I took Fri-Mon off. It wasn’t completely planned but it felt right, so I went with it, LOL.
I got up bright and early Tuesday morning for my PT appointment only to get there and realize that I had no more appointments in his book, so that was kind of a bummer. I checked and he had a ffice:smarttags" />Then I went back in for legs.
WU – BW squats/Extensions
Box Squats
95X10, 95X10, 95X10
Regular Squats
95X10, 95X10, 95X10
Jump Squats (10 with a 25lb plate, 10 w/BW)
25X10, BWxX10, 25X10, BWX10, 25X10, BWX10
Hack Squats
150X10, 150X15, 150X20 (the last 10 of the last set of these were f-u-g-l-y!)
Jump lunges (these suck and I am blaming them for my very sore thighs, LOL)
BWx10e, BWx10e, BWX10e
Instead of my usual baggy t-shirt and shorts, I wore a new Nike tank and shorts to work out in. I have to say that I was seeing some new muscles poking while I was working out and it was a pretty cool feeling. I can *almost* understand why some people spend so much time staring at themselves in the mirror. LOL
Afterwards, I played some basketball with my son for about a half an hour. I teetered with the idea of running sprints, but let it go.
This morning I went and did the stepper for 30 minutes. It helped get things loose.
Things have been busy and I am sorry I haven’t been able to post as much as I was. I will be. My class will be done after this weekend and I see some time opening up. I just find my evenings busier with the gym and then getting outside for a bit.
My eating is good, but the TNT was killing me. So, I am no longer doing it, I am a loser I know.
I have an appointment for a re-check on the BF and I am also doing the RMR testing and the VO2 that I mentioned here before. I ended up canceling my other appointment because I want to get them done at the same time, with the same place. I will be anxious to see the change in my body fat, it has to be lower – it just has to be.

Hi Ginger!
I'm curious-- this looks like a lot of work. Is this prescribed by your trainer? Why not do chin ups instead of another round of lat pulls? Or 1-arm rows instead of another round of seated rows? You've done 7 sets of 10 reps-- holy cow!?!

(really-- not judging; just curious!)
Good point, Kate. Yes, this was a workout with my trainer. He's never done that before, so I don't know the reasoning for it. I just do what I am told. With the last set of lats, I was instructed to make the initial movement a forceful one and then pause before going back up. So, even though it was the same exercise (minus the hand placement), it was a little different. Who knows?!?

Hi Kara! I'll be around more, soon. I miss you guys, too!
Well, I think for the time being I am going to do my PT sessions in the afternoon, rather than the 6:00 a.m. time. I had my leg session after work yesterday and I felt so much stronger than I do 1st thing in the morning. It was odd, really. So, I switched my times and I'll be anxious to see how I do with that.

Man, you girls are awesome. I was feeling all down about these pictures. I just wasn't feeling much change, but I guess if I go back and look at the beginning picture, it helps. Everyone has a bad week every now and then, right?
So, I need to log a couple of workouts.
Friday, May 2nd
Bench press
WU 45X10, 45X10,
65X8, 75X8, 75X8
Incline DB fly
15eX10, 15eX10, 15eX8
Superset
Chest Press machine
40X10, 40X10, 40X10
Push ups (if that’s what you can call them, they were horrible. My arms were done.)
BWX5, BWX5, BWX5
I also did 25 minutes of intervals on the stairs
Saturday and Sunday were both off days.
Monday, May 5th
Food – much better today. Last week was not a good week, but I am back on and feeling strong. Just made some bad choice all around.
28 minutes on the stairs in the a.m. and 30 minutes in the p.m.
I have been trying to do cardio in the morning and then again after work for a little while now, at least a couple of times a week. (No negative feedback, please) It is working for me and my body is responding to the added cardio, so I am sticking with it.
This afternoon I have legs. My appointment is ½ an hour, but my friend is scheduled right after me and we may work out together for the entire hour. I’ve never done an hour of legs and it scares me a little, LOL.
I went to the gym this morning and did 50 minutes on the stairs. It was a looooong 50 minutes. The plus is that my friend, Karen, showed up 10 minutes into the sentence, so she suffered through with me. My gym has only 2 of these machines and they have them stuck in the weirdest area of the gym and it is stuffy as all get out. The plus side is that I think people forget about them being there, the negative is that it is soooooo hot. I joked that I was going to make signs to hold up to the people on the track, asking them to sprint by, to create a breeze. LOL

I thought your pictures look great - I'm so jealous of your legs, they are looking fantastic!
The Y I go to has really crappy AC and it gets really hot there in the summer. I don't like working out in just a sports bra and shorts because I sweat a lot and stick to the benches - yuck.

Interesting... did you feel any different a day or two afterward?
(and, nice work-- you are making excellent progress!)

Wow Ginger, your May progress pictures are wonderful. I'm so glad you got them taken and are still in the challenge. Your legs look even better than ever (is that possible?), your entire upper body has beautiful definition, but I had to save the best for last-your abs! Your abs look awesome, from all angles there is such a great change. You should take a long, hard look in the mirror and be immensely proud of what you have done for yourself. You look stunning and continue to be an inspiration.
Well if you are a loser for quitting TNT than I am a pussy for never starting it. Look, you are probably a person that needs carbs and can handle them. I know I am. I never was able to play the "low carb" game very well. That is okay, keep your protein high and your fats low and keep the carbs complex and you will do just fine I bet.

Oh gosh, Leah. I think your legs are looking pretty fantastic. Thank you! I sweat so much and I hate when I get glances from the girls who try to make sure and not sweat (it might mess up their makeup), like I am a freak. LOL

You know, I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention in the days passing that workout. During the workout, it was hard.

Thanks, L! I am trying to work a little more on that area, because it is the bain of my existance. So, hearing that there is an improvement definitely helps. Love you!

Thanks Karla. That is what I am thinking. And along those same lines,
I think I mentioned it before, I am going May 23rd to have my BF% retested and at that time I am also doing the VO2 testing that I talked about before in here and the RMR (resting metabolic rate) testing. Between all of this testing, I will find out how many calories I am actually burning and I will find out whether my body goes to carbs or fat first. So, it’s all very cool and I’ll be anxious to see what this tells me. It will make it a little easier on planning my meals, when to eat what, etc.
Yesterday’s workout and it was only a ½ an hour. Didn’t do the hour and I am pretty happy about that.
WU:
BW squats
Squats: 95X10 (1 set)
Superset that kicked my behind:
Squats:
135X10, 115X10, 115X10, 115X10
Deadlifts:
135X10, 135X10, 135X10, 135X10
Jump Squats
25lb plateX10 – BWX10 (3 sets)
We are working on my form for squats and DL’s. My squat form is good, until the last set and then I start favoring my right side. My DL form is getting better each time we do them. The biggest issue is that my trainer wants me to set the bar down each time, which makes a loud noise. I hate making loud noises with weight, so we are currently disagreeing about that. I’m sure we will come to some sort of middle ground.
Food is good. I am anxious to go to the store and load up on some more good stuff.
Oh, one more thing! There were 2 guys doing curls in the only squat rack we have and my trainer went and asked them to move! LOL I was cracking up!!!!
