Only taking the step forward once to get set up for the set.
Your feet are planted in front of the bosu ball thing, bar across chest and you squat down.
I never should have even tried to describe this exercise, it is not my specialty.

That's all I got.

So it's a box squat but with a bosu ball from the sounds of it...?

Well, I thought a box squat had the bar across the back but again, this is not my specialty. But yes, it is the same motion as a box squat but you are going lower (obviously) because the bosu is lower.
My trainer called it that probably because the 1st time (a long while ago in my log) he took me over to the Smith/Safety machine and I saw him grab the bosu ball I shot him a look.

Sounds like you have a good range of motion to be able to squat down to a bosu ball. Nice job.

Hi Kelly. Actually, no it isn't a basic front squat. My legs are angled. Sorry to hear the smith hurt your knees, I could see how that could happen.

Thanks, Kara. I will definitely be looking for your update pictures, too.

Ok, Friday April 4th, I took the morning spinning class. I took Friday night, Saturday and Sunday off which is a little rare for me. It wasn’t like I just vegged around the couch eating Bon-Bons, though. It was a beautiful weekend and we worked outside a bit, put together a heavy basketball hoop and did some other stuff. It kind of felt good to take a couple of days off and I didn’t let myself stress out about it and now, I am starting this week off with a bang.
Last night I did some chest/tricep/shoulder work and then 25 minutes of light running on the treadmill. I also had a great stretching session. I have been ignoring stretching and my body desperately needs it.
Leg day this morning!
WU - Leg curls, 10X40, 10X50, 10X60
Squats
10X95, 10X135, 8X135
Box squats (the real ones w/the oly bar)
8X135, 8X135
Lunges
10eX65, 10ex65, 8eX65
Front squat (w/oly bar)
10X65, 10X65, 10X65
Straight leg DL
10X70, 10X70, 10X70
Wow, once I type it out it doesn’t seem like much but this workout totally kicked my bootay (literally). And seeing how my workouts are progressing with my Trainer, I see why we started out where we did and that there is a goal in mind with the particular exercises I am doing. I love my sessions, they are worth every dime.

It sure looks like a lot to me, Ginger! I am so impressed with your strength. You are so strong! I'll be thinking of you the first time I am able to do lunges with 65 lbs! I wish I could find a GOOD trainer just for a session a week. But, all the trainers at my gym seem sorta lame.

I was the same way this past weekend....worked outside all weekend and it felt good. The intent was to give my wrist a break, but that didn't really happen. But, it was soooo nice (FINALLY!) here in Ohio!

The amount of strength you possess is just obnoxious, lol. Seriously, you're squatting what my ultimate squat goal is and I am soo far from it! And my pics are up but they're absolutely no different than last month. There's still a bit of change since the beginning pic, but I appear to have plateau-ed a bit *shrug*
Seriously though... those squats... my goodness :-)

You're squatting my goal! I'm 35lbs away still. I'm hoping to get there by the end of the summer. I'm jealous of your strength.

Your pics look great! It really shows how much you've put into your workouts.

Hey there, Jane! I know what you mean about the lame trainers. This is my 4th trainer at this gym. 2 of them left (one of those was great) and one of them I just never scheduled again with. It is hard to find a good trainer to jive with.
It was nice! The past 3 days have been gorgeous! Of course, then I hear that it is going to start raining again and the temps are going to drop! WTF???

Oh, Kara!I am squatting you! LOL There are so many other girls around here stronger than me, but I am working on it. I am a work in progress. I would never try these heavier weights without my trainer, since I have no one to work out with on a regular basis.

Well, DOMS has set in. My a$$ cheeks feel like someone repeatedly punched me in them, for no good reason. LOL I see potty floppin' on the agenda for tomorrow. I did do a little cardio tonight, in hopes of fighting some of the tightness.

Seriously, you are totally transforming your shape and you look soooooooo fit and strong. Just awesome. What is also interesting: your weight didn't change that much, but clearly there is a LOT going on.
I think I need to re-read your log and just do what you're doing.

Hey Diva! Yes, the stretching is really helping. I am a little embarrassed at how I was ignoring that.

Ahhh, thank you so much! Nope, not much change in weight at all. I really need to tweak my food a little more and I think I would see even more changes and that is the goal for the rest of this month.

I had a session this morning and it was back day. I was a little bummed that we didn't do deadlifts, but it was a wise decision. My hammies are still pretty sore from Tuesday, so we did some other things.

Lat pulldown WU
55X10, 70X10, 70X10
Supersets
Chest pulls
70X10, 70X10, 70X10
Rope pull throughs
50X10, 50X10, 50X10
Seated Cable rows
70X10, 70X10, 70X10
Supersets
Reverse grip bent over rows
60X10, 60X10, 60X10
Seated good mornings
65X10, 85X10, 85X10
Face pulls
70X10, 70X10, 70X10

This was a good workout. Again, I had psyched myself up to do DLs, but I really am still sore. I was browsing those DL videos in Karla's log the other night, so I was all pumped up to do them, LOL.
Good story I wanted to share. Last week, on leg day we were waiting on the squat rack to use it and the guy that was using it, is a rather cocky dude and he is at the gym a lot of the same times that I am. Anyways, he gets done squatting, grabs his stuff and moves over to the leg press, all while leaving his 2 10 lb weights on each side (so he was squatting 85 lbs and did not have a good ROM going on). My trainer walks up, takes off the 2 10's and puts the 2/25's on there. Cool guy watched him to do and it was a very cool feeling. So, I do the 1st WU set and then my trainer adds on the 2 45's. It rocked and I had killer form.

Trainer wants me to start working on my calves a little. I haven't done much focus up to this point, because I was always told that would come later and I guess later has arrived.
Going to the grocery store today, after I read up on TNT again. I really think I need to suck it up and do it. I know I would see better results.

I know I'm pretty late in line with my comments, but DAMN GIRL!! Your April pics are amazing and you look fantastic. What an unbelieveable difference all over, but especially the definition in your abs, arms, and shoulders! The side photos are the ones that really show all the hard work you have put in and I remain so inspired because of everything you're doing! Keep up all of your hard work, it is SOOOO paying off!

Nice workout Ginger! And I'm LOL at the visual of the "rather cocky dude" being put right in his place by you squattin' more than him! GOOD FOR YOU!

Keep kickin' ass and takin' names, girl!
