Somebody should fix my typo: I'm working 1:2, not 2:1. Sorry, chalk that up to not having eaten yet.

Today's workout: Stage 1, A4
Squats: 2x12x45*
Push ups: 1x12 -FF. 1x6-FF, 6-FK
Seated Rows: 2x12x60
Step ups: 2x12x25**
Prone Jackknife: 1x9xBW, 1x10xBW
* lots less neck pain today, instead of straining my neck to stay up right, I tightened my core and drove through my feet. imagine that!
** I lost my paper last week, so either I forgot to do the step ups or I just forgot to record them...not sure which, surely it was the later
Good workout today, nasty workout shake (lemon lime from trueprotein = NOT my favorite).

Would a Manta Ray help with the squats?

Excellent! Those little epiphanies make a big difference.
BTW - is that DB squat or are you using the olympic bar?

Greg, I saw that do-hickey in Julie's log and wondered about it. I've never had problems holding the bar, so I think it's just poor form and going too heavy too fast. Literally the first week back, I thought I might die from quad pain.
Bill, It's the olympic bar.

No HIIT today. Took Samantha's class to the zoo...that was fun! We saw the jaguar scratching himself today AND they had the tiger and lion exhibits closed for "viewing enhancements." Wonder if it has anything to do with the guy that just got eaten by a tiger...we had significantly less space between us than they did. YIKES!

The Zoo! How awesome.
The numbers are climbing ever upwards! Good work.
I had the exact same problem on squats at one time. I still have a tendency to strain my neck on exercises instead of tighten my core. Good job figuring that one out!

Great job with the workouts and logging your meals, Jamie!! I'll have to show this to my wife for inspiration. And a hearty 'congrats' for the push-ups.
You went to the zoo with the kids?!? So that means......maybe, just maybe.....there will pictures posted somewhere?

If she didn't get any pictures of the jaguar scratching himself, I'll do an imitation at home and we can get pictures of that. Actually, I already do the imitation every night anyway, it's just a matter of getting out the camera.

Thank you, Honey! I am SURE everyone would be soo thrilled!
NROL4W Stage 1, B4
DL: 2x12x85
Shoulder Press: 1x12x35, 1x12x40
Lat Pulldown: 2x12x70
Lunge:2x12x30
SBC: 2x10xBW...SLOWLY
I felt awesome in the gym today...except for the lat pulldowns. I didn't get to pull it as far down b/c it was such big jump in weight. So, I tried to compensate by going very slowly in the return. Everything else was great and definitely a challenge.
Not sure that I am looking forward to adding another set but hey, I think it's probably time.
YMCA story
I don't have nearly as many as my hubby, but the gem today was a trainer had an obese woman doing wall squats on a bosu ball. As if the wall squats weren't challenging enough for her. Hmmm, I am pretty sure I could do better than that!

If you guys could see my cabinets and closets, you would be so impressed!!!!! I'm in an spring-cleaning-in-January mood right now and between that and having MAJOR sharp short-lived headaches and some sinus junk, I am just not feeling it lately. I would like to workout today, but can't seem to decide whether I'll work on the 10K I am signed up for or if I'll lift. Well, see when I get there I guess!
