I am pretty excited. Unfortunately she is very busy right now. My phone consultation is in a week. I think that will give me some time to think about what exactly I am hoping to achieve and what I am willing to do.

Hey Anne-
I definitely agree that the macros matter. I feel like I never "got" that before. One thing I noticed about myself is the snack or meal that I find really filling and satisfying for a week or two seems to sort of wear off in time and then doesn't tide me over very long. It seems like that one has to be in my mind though.

Okay so that is probably obvious but this definately a case where "this shit isn't working" and you need to change in some fairly substantial ways.

If your goal really is to lose and not gain but you cannot stop putting too much food in your face it is most likely the case that you are eating too many processed food still, not eating as much as you think (not measuring) or have your macros out of whack. Honestly if someone eats whole foods and low gly carbs to the tune of 1800 kcals a day you should not have real hunger pangs. If your hunger pangs are mental that could be demons that you have to conquer still. I third the vote for contacting Leigh. She is pretty awesome (from what I can tell ) at digging out those demons. Tracking and understanding everything you are doing will go a long way in helping you with this. Ultimately it is going to come down to you will have to want to lose the 10lbs more than you want to stuff your face.
Hey Karla - See I am thinking the same as you - it is just not normal to eat over 2000 cals a day and be hungry. Hopefully Leigh can help me get to the root of it.

Leah.........Congrats on making an appt. to talk to Leigh. You are just going to love her.

I think you are taking the right frame of mind with the waiting period. Really think about what you want to achieve and list questions that you can think of until you get to talk to her. It will really help her to help you all the more.

Saturday:
160.8 25% BF

Breakfast: went out to IHOP and ate 1/2 a sausage and veggie omelet - It wasn't bad, but I think my omelets taste better

Lunch: leftover parmesan tilapia and brussels sprouts

Afternoon snack: 1 oz mixed nuts, two sliced tomatoes & 2 oz fresh mozzarella

Dinner: 4 oz burger w/cheddar and tomato & fresh mozzarella salad

Evening: 1 miller light

For some reason I was feeling sorry for myself and like I really wanted ice cream. At walmart I bought a box of dove minatures. I ate one, which had 60 cals and 6gm carb. I was pretty happy with myself as I thought this was a good compromise.

Today:

Breakfast: cheddar omelet, bacon, mixed veggies

Pre/post workout shake: 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup milk, 2 scoops strawberry whey

I also ate a 1/2 frozen banana w/peanut butter directly after lifting because my feet were cramping really bad.

Lunch: enormous salad w/1 can of tuna, a string cheese, and homemade vinegar and oil dressing

Afternoon: another string cheese

Dinner: tequila lime turkey tenderloin and green beans

Evening: nibbled at a few things and drank a corona light

BW/12

BW/12 - This was the first time I could get all three sets without having to rest. Yeah!!!

I also did a couple minutes of punching on our bag. I felt like I was getting the hang of it. I have never punched anything in my life before we started martial arts, so I feel like my punching is really pathetic, especially for such a big girl! My technique seems like its improving.

I'd never hit anything or been hit before I started kickboxing class / martial arts... isn't it fun!?!? Your technique will improve - once it's muscle memory, your strikes will get really strong!

I love those! I bought a box yesterday too, for guests we are having. But if there are any left over...

It is fun! I can't wait to be really strong and scare people in class.

I am looking forward to it too!

Yesterday I got my evaluation and found out about my raise at work. I did well, but I think I had myself so worked up about it for so long that actually finding out was a big letdown. I did order Maximum Strength off amazon, since I usually get myself a treat every year at raise time.

We were planning to go out to dinner, but then Shawn said he wasn't coming home until later because he wanted to take his daughter to dance class. He also told me the school nurse sent his other daughter home with head lice! I didn't even end up eating a proper dinner. I ate a bunch of thin mints and dove minis and some soy nuts and spent a lot of the evening in bed feeling sorry for myself. When Shawn did come home we spent a while digging through each other's hair and luckily we are safe.

I decided I am going to stop doing TNT and try for more of a limited carb approach.

Today's plan:

Breakfast: 2 egg omelet w/shredded taco cheese and two slices mango

Morning snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/1/4 cup soy nuts and an apple

Lunch: leftover turkey tenderloin and green beans

Afternoon snack: 6 triscuits and a string cheese

Dinner: tomato & mozzarella salad tossed w/mixed greens and leftover burger patty

Tennis match if it doesn't rain, or martial arts class if it does

Hey Leah! I am happy to read that you are setting something up with Leah. It looks like those who are working with her are seeing results and
at a good pace.

Good luck with the head lice. We've had that scare a couple of times and it makes me itch, just thinking about it.

Hey, Leah! The whole lice issue is NOT fun. I work at an elementary school and this year has been the worst. Then tack baseball and softball season on top of the problem and all the exchanging of batting helmets and you have real issues. If you are worried, use Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree shampoo. It is supposed to help with keeping the lice away as they don't like the strong pepperminty smell. They do like clean hair, which stinks.

Thanks for understanding you guys. Of course, I didn't itch until he told me the news, then I couldn't stop!

Last night we went to Muay Thai and Kali. I loved the Muay Thai class. There were all these really cool kicks and kick and punch sequences and we used these enormous pads to block. The only bad part was it was a bit hard to stay focused for two hours straight.

Today:
163.6 26% BF - I know this is from eating more carbs, but it still makes me pissed off.

Breakfast: 2 brownies (from being mad about my weight ) 1/2 an omelet, couple slices of mango

Morning snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese & blueberries

Lunch: salad greens, tomatoes, 4 oz leftover steak, 2 tbls vinagrette

Afternoon snack: 1/2 cup oats w/raspberries & brown sugar

Dinner: not sure yet - maybe steak stir-fry
