Oh and your pictures look great! I can see a difference in the past month, Girl.
Thanks Ginger!
Well I got down 1/2 my gallon of water so far and am starting to feel normal again.

Hey Bytsi-

It is going well. It is pretty suprising how much we have learned in such a short time. I am thinking after the year is up it will be amazing. The classes are pretty small and there are usually at least two people instructing and helping so I've gotten a lot of personal attention. I'm excited for tonight!

Hi Leah!

First I wanted to say that your pictures look great! Good job! And (despite your stomach issues) yay for carb-up day. I can't imagine not eating fruit for a month. You did such a good job!

Also, that's awesome about the martial arts class! My plans are on hold for now, but I'm excited to get back into it. It will be fun to enjoy it vicariously through you in the meantime.

Don't feel too badly RE the alcohol. Since I started to eat healthy, I can hardly drink anything without feeling like ass. Of course when I drink I always tend to make an ass of myself so feeling like ass should probably follow.

I did miss fruit a lot! Now I can at least put it in my shakes.

Thanks Tracey! I like TNT a lot more than I thought I would.
The margaritas were definitely good!

Karla you're funny! That's why we mostly drink at home.

Today:

Workout:

Hyp II A5, 6x3, 90 sec rest

superset of barbell reverse-grip bent-over row & bench press

95/3 90/3
95/3 90/3
95/3 90/3
95/3 90/3
95/3 90/3
95/3 90/3 - I was hoping I could bump my bench up to 95, but I just knew it was not happening. I could barely get the 3rd rep on most of the sets.

superset of wide-grip cable seated row & dumbbell incline bench press w/palms facing in

120/3 35's/1 + 30's/2
120/3 30's/3
120/3 30's/3
120/3 30's/3
120/3 30's/3
120/3 30's/3 - I was bummed I couldn't do the 35's. I was able to do the 30's for six reps in the last 5x6 workout, but the 35's were just too heavy.

Dip

BW/3
BW/3
BW/3
BW/3
BW/3
BW/3

Swiss ball crunch

15lb dumbbell / 12
15/12
15/12

This workout felt very rushed doing it before work since it is so long. But, I just knew I would be better to get it done than wait for after work when I wouldn't want to go. Also I felt the chest work was a little weak. We do push-ups in the warm up in martial arts class, but it doesn't seem like one set of push-ups 10 hours earlier would fatigue me enough for that to be the issue.

Food:

Pre/post workout shake: nutty crunch shake from free sample download of Gourmet Nutrition: 1 scoop chocolate prot, 1 cup milk, 1 cup cott chz, 2 tbls pb, 1 cup ice, 3 tbls oats - yum!!!

After workout: 4 oz pork loin roast

Lunch: salad w/tomatoes, feta, leftover steak and balsamic dressing

Afternoon snack: leftover taco skillet

Dinner: 4 oz kielbasa and sauerkraut

I'm glad to hear that TNT is working out for you! Save some margaritas for me next time! I've not had those in over a decade. Yum!

Its funny - I tried the shake once before I started TNT and I thought it tasted kind of sour from the cottage cheese. I know my "sweet" meter has changed so I decided to try it again and it tasted very nice and sweet.

A decade is way too long to go without margaritas!

Thursday:
162.8 25%BF
Martial Arts class was awesome! There was a different instructor leading and he kicked our butts! He had us practicing the stick patterns until my hands and arms were burning. Then we practiced a couple self-defense moves. The punching at the end was brutal! I was working with this guy and he said, I'll take it easy and just practice my form. His punches practically knocked me off my feet! We were both really sweaty and tired by the end and when we went home Shawn did not squack one bit about going to bed early.

Friday:
162.4 25% BF
I woke up really sore from the class, but I wanted to lift in the morning since I had to go to a Project Management class and we wanted to go to a bar to watch the hockey game. Shawn was hurting too and he was like, I can't believe you're going to the gym - you're insane.

Hyp II B5, 5x6, 90 sec rest

Snatch-grip deadlift

Warm-ups 45/5 95/4

140/6
140/6
140/6
140/6
140/6

Superset of dynamic lunges and step-ups

85/6ea 30's/6ea
85/6ea 30's/6ea
85/6ea 30's/6ea
85/6ea 30's/6ea
85/6ea 30's/6ea

Incline reverse crunch, 3x12, 60 sec rest

BW/12
BW/12
BW/6 + small rest + 6 more

The tempo on these is supposed to be 321 and they are agonizing!

Extra chin-up work, as many as I can do, 90 sec rest

BW/2.5
BW/2
BW/1.5
BW/1.5
BW/1

Food: I brought a cooler to the class with all my food for the day and I was really happy I did. They served sandwiches, chips, and cookies and donuts and potato chips, so I would have barely had anything to eat.

Pre/post workout shake: 1 scoop vanilla prot, 2 cups strawberries, 2/3 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup milk, 1 cup ice

Snack: 3 oz pork loin roast

Lunch: salad w/tomatoes, leftover salmon and blue cheese dressing

Afternoon snack: leftover broccoli salad and string cheese

Dinner: 2 corona lights, steak salad with blue cheese dressing

Shawn had the munchies bad and he also ate breaded wings, a york peppermint pattie and some Ben& Jerrys Dublin Mudslide. I had tastes of all of the above.

Today:
162.0 25% BF

I woke up extremely sore this morning. The entire back of my body is feeling the deadlifts from yesterday. I decided to check out what Yoga DVD's are available on Netfix. This didn't have a large selection that you could watch instantly, but I tried the Crunch Candlelight Yoga and I really liked it. I feel a lot less tight and kinda tingly, nice, and relaxed.

Food:

Breakfast: omelet w/kielbasa, sauerkraut, and swiss cheese - sounds weird but it was pretty good!

Morning snack: string cheese and a small portion of leftover taco skillet

Lunch: salad w/leftover salmon and blue cheese dressing

Afternoon snack: probably more taco skillet

Dinner: steak stir-fry

And this is why your martial art will be more powerful than his.

Leah..........If you ever need yoga recommendations, just PM me. I have about 20 yoga DVDs and I love them. If Netflix has any Yoga Zone DVDs, Strong & Healthy Back is awesome and only 20 minutes. The Candlelight Yoga you got with Sara Ivanhoe is one of my favorites. Eoin Finn is just awesome, but I doubt they'll have his workouts. I could go on and on.........but, let me know if you need an suggestions.

The martial arts is a great workout! I'm glad because it is taking up a lot of time and I'm not doing anything else but weights right now.

Thanks Stephanie, I'll definitely check out the Yoga Zone stuff. I liked Sara Ivanhoe because she explained about the different poses and what their purpose was.

Thanks Karen!

Today:
161.6 25% BF

Food:
Breakfast: omelet w/bacon, broccoli, and provolone

Morning snack: 3 oz salmon fillet and more leftover roasted broccoli, mixed nuts

Lunch: salad w/tomatoes, blue cheese dressing, 3 oz salmon, 3 oz leftover pork roast, string cheese

Dinner: Ellie Krieger's shrimp w/tomatoes and feta, roasted asparagus

I will probably also have a beer tonight. I told Shawn I'll go to the bar with him to watch the last period of the hockey game.

Today his mother came down and we were going to go to the air show, but it got rained out so we ended up going to the Andy Warhol Museum. It was pretty cool. My favorite was the silver clouds. It was basically a room with a bunch of huge silver, mylar balloons and fans blowing them around. But there was something about their movements that was just mesmerizing and very calming.

And to top it all off, for Mother's Day I gave her .......
A PERFECT TEAMAKER!!!!! and some teas. She liked it.

Today:
163.0 BF 25% - My weight is really trending somewhere I don't want to go. I have been putting my stuff in fitday and trying to cut back a bit over the last week. I just don't see why i should be so hungry. My average has been around 2300 cals and I am trying to cut back to around 2000 cals. Right now my stomach hurts so bad and my head is spinning. Good thing its only 20 minutes until lunchtime!

Food Plan for today:

Reloading day

Breakfast: shake w/1 scoop vanilla prot, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 a frozen banana, 1tbls peanut butter, 3 oz chocolate yogurt, ice

Morning snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 med pear

Lunch: going to Subway for a 6" chicken terriyaki - I haven't had bread since starting TNT so this is going to be exciting!

Afternoon snack: 1/2 tuna sandwich: 1 slice bread, 1 can tuna, mayo

Dinner: artichoke and spinach stuffed shells - I really miss this recipe!

Evening snack: going to split a small something at Coldstone Creamery with Shawn for my treat.
