Had my leg x-ray redone today because the last place screwed it up. Hopefully now we can get some good femur/tibia measurements and see how crooked I really am.
Lifted in the small gym at work today -- RedWifey wisely recommended it since my exercise equipment needs are minimal these days. Makes me wonder why I didn't think of it earlier; am I perhaps subconsciously excited to go to the Y and see the crazies? Hmm...
Incline DB rows (face down on bench)
Cable bench press (lowest setting on cables, bench between them forcing me to resist the weights both upward and inward)
Waterbury booster shot: Cable curls (standing between the two cable towers with one arm for each)
Been dialing down my calories a bit and am leaning out a little. My new lifting activities aren't nearly as metabolically demanding as what I'm used to, so I'm trying to scale back on the food. Weekdays are fine. Weekends are probably overboard but it hasn't killed me yet.

yeah... uh... I (for one) vote that you continue to go to the Y. I need more "opera man" stories.

Sorry, I'll get back to the Y eventually. Actually I'll be swimming there in the next couple of hours.
ART/PT appointment today went well. My X-ray results aren't back yet, although I have a CD-ROM with the scans on there. I could open the files and try to figure it out but it wouldn't do much good. In my world everything I measure comes out at 8.5 inches, no matter what the "real" measurement is. Funny that.
The PT lady dealt new evil today. She had me do a 30-second side plank, roll into a 60-second front plank, then roll onto the other elbow for another 30-second side plank. Boom/boom/boom with no rest. Can't believe I actually made it.
Picture time this weekend!

See? Even your post was 8.5 inches. As is my avatar.
Swimming went fine. It's funny, there were four other guys there and my backstroke (with almost no kick) was significantly faster than their freestyle. Granted, they swam a little longer than I did, but it didn't seem like they had very efficient strokes. Or maybe I just have an unfair advantage at 6'3" with big hands and feet.

Might have been the 8.5" rudder that kept the boat in a straighter line

I appreciate the flattery, but the water was pretty cold.

In that case, maybe it was the lack of resistance so you more "steamlined"

Dangit, I am a fast swimmer. Must mean there's very little drag.

I actually haven't eaten any cookies since the start of the challenge. My results are ranked as a solid "meh" right now, but I'm cool with it. Fixing my leg will pay off in the long run even if it's killing any hope of major short-term progress.
Lifted today:
Pullups -- 8 sets of 3, 60s rest
DB bench press -- 4 sets of 3, 60s rest (shoulder was twinging so I stopped early)
Cable crunches
Back extensions, holding 10-lb plate at arms' length
Kent was in the Y again, same shorts and shoes but with a maroon golf shirt. Weird, but at least he's showing up consistently.
I'll admit that so far I haven't done a good job on using my brain to figure out a plan in spite of the leg trouble. I've been in limbo, hoping that I'd get a quick diagnosis and would be back to squats and deads. Realistically, the big lifts are the only way I've been able to make significant body changes in the past.
I've got my next ART/PT appointment tomorrow. Hopefully they'll have the X-ray results and I can get to work on figuring out where to go from here.

Maybe getting the leg fixed is the short term progress you need to meet future goals.

I would love to go to a quality ART practitioner, for the scapular area. My first set of bent over rows highlighted a somewhat focused area of pain in the right scap.
Good luck on your appt.
