Hybrid Hypertrophy -- Day 22

DB close-grip bench press -- 4 sets, worked up to 60s
Decline skull crushers -- 1 set, 50
Deadlift -- 4 sets, worked up to 245
BB hack squat -- 1 set, 120
Chin-up -- 4 sets, bodyweight only (added extra reps)DB pullover -- 1 set, 25s

Even though I hit new numbers across the board, it was a frustrating workout. All the benches were taken for my first superset, so I had to carry DBs across the gym to another bench. And with each set increasing in weight, I spent all my rest periods carting heavy DBs back and forth.

This left my grip weaker than usual for the deadlifts. Grip was the only thing limiting me there. Got me ticked -- I actually spanked a mirror with my towel after missing the third rep of my last set.

You may think that's dumb, but trust me, there are much worse ways to take out frustration from a missed lift:

Did some rowing machine and some complexes today. I'm down with GPP.

Forgot my swimsuit at home or else I'd have been in the pool. Movies have taught me the dangers of skinny dipping:

If your Y is anything like mind, there are signs all over the door to the pool stating that swimsuits must be worn at all times. Apparently the 60s were a lot wilder than I recall -- but hey, I was busy learning to walk back then.

Hybrid Hypertrophy day 24

Power Clean -- 4 sets, worked up to 145
Squat -- 1 set, 115
Cable crunch -- 4 sets, 150
Reverse crunch -- 1 set, X-band
DB incline press -- 4 sets, 55
DB military press -- 1 set, 30 lbs

No real increases today except the cable crunches, which was mostly due to getting a better feel for the form. I just didn't have it today. Not a bad workout but just going through the motions, it felt like.

YMCA mystery of the day: there was a single kernel of corn in a sink of the locker room. How did it get there? Did someone bring corn in to eat at the sink (right next to the toilets) and spill a kernel? Did someone pick it out of their teeth? Unsquished? The randomness taunts me.

Even though the workout wasn't great, it beats the video below. Can't believe these ladies haven't shown up at the Y yet:

After they cleaned up a bit, I'd totally date any of those girls.

Yeah, I guess they're hot enough if you can look past the whole anal leakage thing.

It's all very funny until it gets stuck in your head, causing you to sing it to yourself at work.

Got my swimming in today. I'm surprisingly fast in the water (ok, maybe not surprising given my height and slender build), but I can't seem to keep the backstroke straight. I either have to tilt my head up to see where I am, or I lay my head back properly and veer off to one side until I hit a lane marker. Meh. Guess it just takes practice.

As I was leaving the YMCA I walked by the spinning/yoga room. I don't think the diarrhea girls were in there, but I heard the instructor yell out, "OK, everybody! It's time to bounce on your balls!" I didn't peek in.

This idiot kid has about ten of these videos spread around YouTube. I put the over/under on dame bramage by June of this year.

I think people are already starting to slack off. It's been 24 hours since the last comment in my thread yet it was only at the bottom of page 2. It's only been one month and the challenge participants are already dropping like flies? Say it ain't so...

Hybrid Hypertrophy -- Day 26 (Final workout)

Decline DB press -- 4 sets, working up to 65s (extra reps)
