Yep, that's what a PK is. I remember reading it somewhere along the line in your blog or RL's. I'm good at remembering little trivia facts.. but nothing important. And it stuck in my mind since I'm a PK, too.

RW - we've read RL blog about FIL - not too many leaps to call you a PK

Okay, is there one, maybe two workouts logged here and it's already on page 2? I thought this was Roland's log for a minute.

Nice title and opening Red. Good Luck with breaking your previous fitness pattern. I actually think it is easier to stay in the groove than it is to get back into one. Then again I also don't have the family demands that you do.

It's not that bad. I go to bed with a beautiful woman and still go to Chuck E. Cheese on the weekend. So I only had to grow up in the areas that were worth it.

Have you seen An Incovenient Truth? With the science that ice reflects 90% of the sun's rays back into space, while water absorbs the rays and contributes to global warming? I'm the color of ice. My swimming reflects the sun's energy back into space. It's for the environment. That's also why I focus on backstroke -- my front side is much paler while my back is all freckley.

Today's workout -- Hybrid Hypertrophy day 3
Power Clean -- 4 sets, worked up to 110 pounds (+)
Squat -- 1 set, 115 lbs (+)
Cable crunch -- 4 sets, 80 lbs (+)
Reverse crunch -- 1 set, BW
DB incline press -- 4 sets, 50 lbs
DB military press -- 1 set, 25 lbs
(+) means that it was too easy and I'll increase weight next time
(-) would mean the opposite, but who would be that honest?
(.) looks kinda like a boobie

Never heard of it, but thanks, I'll check it out. Strangely enough, though, I don't care much about how efficient my stroke is. I'm not trying to get faster or cleaner in the water -- I'm just there to work hard.
Maybe if my stroke really sucks, I'll have to expend more energy to swim laps and I'll be done quicker.
Supposed to be another swimming day today, but I have a two and a half hour meeting at work that will go past the time I usually leave the office. That means I'll be stuck in Houston traffic and might have to figure out another way to get some exercise tonight.

Not to take too much out of context but I think RW might be concerned with this....

Ah, if only that worked to motivate me. Strangely enough I look in the mirror and am happy to see a guy who's worked his ass off for every ounce of muscle, and managed to stay injury-free into his 30s after some pretty serious injuries in my early 20s.
But if you were joking... well then, screw you too, gramps.

Hey, the log was only on the bottom of page four. Not bad. Here's my workout from yesterday (Friday).
Decline DB press -- 4 sets, working up to 65s
DB french press -- 1 set, 17.5 (+)
Seated row (supine grip) -- 4 sets, working up to 150
DB bent-over side raise -- 1 set, 20s
Romanian DL* -- 4 sets, working up to 160
Box squat** -- 1 set, 100
*The power rack was taken so I had to use dumbells. My grip at that point was more of a limiting factor than anything, because the decline bench is about 30 feet away from the DB rack, and I'd already made four trips back and forth with heavy DBs earlier in the workout. Basically I added tons of farmers walks by necessity, just to get the weights to where I could use them.
**Rack was still taken so I did DB squats (DB on shoulders). I had trouble stabilizing them because my lats were already fried. With a bar I would've gone heavier.
After that we went to RedWifey's favorite restaurant for our 9th anniversary. Then on to Ruggles for my favorite dessert. Chocolate creme brulee cheesecake, a la mode:
--Top layer of chocolate creme brulee
--Second layer of cheesecake
--Oreo crust
--Big scoop of ice cream
Calorie bomb. Awesome. Just wanted to pour a little lemon juice on the wound of low-carb diets for some of you readers.
And what the heck is with our YMCA and people taking my benches? This is the second time I was between sets at the decline bench, left to grab new DBs and came back to someone on my bench. Both times my towel was hanging on the bench, and they were on my towel. My workout log, pen and stopwatch were also right there. I don't get it.
And of course it was a girl doing a set of 80 crunches, extending my 60-second break by a factor of four.
