Michael gets quite a bit of slack around our house just because of this. Being the sole bread winner is a major stress...I vaguely remember when it was me. We're hoping Daddy has a really fun time with his friends!!

It isn't about being a bread winner so much. The bread winner part is a big part of this but even more so is the emotional support. Heck just being a parent is ultra stessful as you well know all in its own. We women tend to be a bit better about recognizing the stress in these roles and accepting this but men tend to deny that there should be stress. Michael is a very lucky guy from what I can tell to have you there by his side.
Yeah I saw about the new clubs and it was a great thing. Unfortunately the saga that is now happening is probably is adding to the whole mess at this point instead of helping. Hopefully they will come in left handed next time.

Thanks gang. I think the last few months have been one of those phases when I've gone through quite a few big changes, especially at work and in my spirituality. Yet my daily schedule has remained the same and not really allowed for a chance to step back and get some perspective on what's happened. Eventually it all piles up and your body/spirit says it's time to hit the brakes.
It's like when you install some big new programs on your computer, but to use them you have to reboot. It's time for me to reboot!

Cigars fix many things. And, if you smoke it on day one, you'll have a chance to air out by the return trip.

I'm still not sure it'd get by RedWifey. Women are freaky attuned to that stuff.
Things are looking up in a big way, and I didn't even need a cigar to make it happen.
First, my manliosity was confirmed when I supersetted the A and B workouts from Strength I today. A is lower body and B is upper body so it worked out perfectly. It took about 50 minutes, but I got through it all with almost no rest periods. Tomorrow I'll superset C and D.
Second, my clubs arrived today. They're left-handed. I probably won't get a chance to hit them before I leave, so I'll just have to break them in on the course.

It takes two full days to get most of them out of my system. But, there are some cigars that linger even longer.

Thanks guys; I know it'll be a lot of fun! I fly out tomorrow morning.
Methinks there was some metabolic disruption going on today because after lunch I had a mini-bonk. If people say that Alwyn's workouts are really hard, then I guess combining two of his strength workouts into one non-stop 50-minute superset is even harder. I'm feeling it, so I kept things short in the gym today:
Superset -- T-pushups and inverted rows
PNF
One-legged romanian deadlifts
Decline reverse crunches
Grip work
At Myrtle Beach we're staying at a resort that is also home to three different golf courses, so it's possible that I can get out on a driving range with the new clubs tomorrow afternoon. That would be good since there are prizes at stake once the real play begins on Friday.
Later dudes. And somebody post a new picture in the Friday Funny Foto thread for me, please. But wait til Friday.

I'm back. Five days of golf at Myrtle Beach and then played in an Accounting/Auditor tournament yesterday. Just now am getting caught up at work. Here are a couple of my epic moments from the trip:
#1 -- First tee at The Wizard on the first day of play. If you look at the layout on the link, you'll see that the first hole is a big dogleg right around water. I was in the second group out of six, so there were about 15 guys from our group huddled at the first tee, heckling and waiting for their own rounds to start. I stepped up and told them I was shortcutting over the water. Some of them didn't believe me. I crushed it high over most of the water, landing it smack in the middle of the fairway only 135 yards from the green. The hole measures at 545 if you play it around the water, but who would do that? I hit a nice little wedge and a two-putt for an easy birdie to start things off. Shot a 78.
#2 -- Day two at World Tour. I was in the last group that day, so by the time I got to the last hole everybody else was sitting beside the green, again heckling. I hit my drive right in the middle of the fairway, leaving me 140 yards for the approach to this par-4. The heckling began. I hit a solid wedge to the back of the green and had good spin on it, so it backed up about five feet. Still, I flew the pin and had a 30-foot downhill putt for birdie. I walked up to the green, listening to all the guys laughing and drinking. As I stood over the putt and started the backswing, one guy yelled, "Hey Michael! Make the putt and I'll blow you!" I hit the putt and knew it was in when it left the putter. Once the ball was about halway to the hole I dropped my putter, turned to the guy and started walking toward him, unbuttoning my pants. I was almost to the edge of the green when the ball dropped dead center. The gallery erupted.
Fortunately I never closed the deal with him.
