Sorry to hear about your shoulder. Having had problems with both of mine, I can sympathize. Hopefully it will clear up soon.

Did you try snatches with a snatch grip or a closer, clean style grip? I recall reading that it's better for non-competing lifters to use a closer grip to save the shoulders. The wide grip just cuts down on the ROM and makes it easier to snatch more weight. For the rest of us who don't need the heavier weights to win competitions, the lower weight that comes with a closer grip is compensated for because it is easier on the joints.

It was a DB snatch. A very light one, too. Just didn't explode and it ended up being more of a front raise. Dumb. I should've never tried it with my throwing shoulder anyway, after all it's been through.

Great pictures, Red. Sorry about the shoulder. Give it a week and hopefully you'll be back to normal. If that's possible.

Thanks rem! Things are looking up. Today I have very little pain and pretty good ROM. I plan on doing some pushup holds in the bottom position for a while today and seeing how it feels. Also need to kick it up a notch on my knee/hip/glute exercises. Been slacking off there.
I'm frustrated that this weekend is picture weekend for the challenge, because I've had the last two weeks off. So the camera results probably won't show much, if anything. But I know how far I've come, and that after a few gym sessions things will snap back into place. That'll be cool.

It is always astounding to me how slacking off for even a few days has an impact on a months' result. The more I do this the more I realize how important each and every day is to our short term goals. I blew off more than a few days this month myself and set myself back quite a ways. I won't make that mistake again. At least you have an excuse with an injury. I just lost it (in my mind) and took a break.
On the good side of things, the more I am in this the more I realize how very little a few days or even weeks means to your long term goals. Just pick up where you are and keep charging forward. I have had a shoulder injury once... Very long term heal so take it deadly slow.

Good luck with the shoulder, RL. Glad it's feeling better than it was. Injuries suck rocks.

Warning: shoulder felt good today. 2nd place is starting to look less likely.
2 sets of pushup holds -- 40 seconds each. These were easy.
Theraband clams
Bulgarian split squats
Bowler's lunges
Deadbugs on foam roll
Front plank -- 60 seconds
Everything felt good. I didn't want to risk the side planks with the shoulder yet. Maybe tomorrow. I also have my 2-week ART checkup tomorrow and already warned them that he'll be spending more time on my shoulder than my hip. I'm sure he's getting his jabbing thumb all warmed up to tear into my teres minor. Yay.

Thankfully the elbow didn't come out to play. He did about a half-hour of soft tissue work and I'm much better now. When I went into the ART office I was still having pretty bad shoulder pain. After 10 minutes of ART, the pain was gone but there was lots of clicking in the joint when I moved it. Another 20 minutes and the clicking was gone.
No future appointments scheduled! I'm clear to lift with both the shoulder and knee/hip next week. It's back on.
This weekend is a camping trip with the family. Tents and everything. It's the first time for this city boy!
