Oh man... Just catching up. Sorry to hear about the dump. That is everyone's fear here isn't it? Did you happen to warm into that weight? Generally for squats, I do 20 or so with just 45 and go to 90 and then into the 100's. Just dropping 10 lbs from your max is probably a recipe for dumping them. Just a thought.

Yeah, I was stupid or overconfident or both. Glad to have a humbling experience with just a couple of bruises instead of getting pinned. More warm up next time, and a spotter on anything above deads with the oly bar.

Default Is Mercury in retrograde?

Tried the B workout for stage three and wrenched my back on the third set of RDL rows I'll try again whenever I can quit walking like an old lady LOL. May have to break into the flexeril to unlock this spasm.

Woman, knock it off! You're getting pretty close to taking over my role as main injury-getter. Do you have any peppermint-lemon balm tincture on you? I made a gallon of that stuff a couple of years ago (and still have most of it, of course) because it works so incredibly well on spasmy-type stuff.

I forgot about that stuff...already downed a flexeril, it ain't touching it yet. Had DH try myofacial release on it till I cried like a baby and that helped some. I'll have him try again some more later to get them to release. It happened at one of those doh learning curve moments. I was mid rep and zigged when I should have zagged and then tried to correct and there they went. Both sides locked up. Ah well. I'll try again when it's better

No improvement on the back so I guess I'm DLed for the time being. I'll update when it improves enough to work out again or at pics time whichever comes first.

Looks like this is gonna take a little more time to get back the way it needs to be than I thought so I'm dropping from the challenge. Thanks to those who followed my log and best wishes to you on your fitness goals!

Whew! What a derail. First was flexaril, no luck, locked up tight. Myofascial release, hurt but helped a little. Then called the doc, he wouldn't see me but called in Tramadol for me. Spent a few days in orbit on that stuff woowee! I tried to do some woods work and got tired and hurty real quick so I finally went to a local DO who does the osteopathic manipulations (I don't trust chiros). He checked as best he could by feel for a herniated disk or a compression fracture and tentatively cleared me of those concerns and did a couple of manipulations that seem to be helping.

I'm still a little achey but I'm gonna try to press on. I'm back on diet after a week plus off (regained 7 pounds going off low carb!). I hope to restart an exercise program this week.

In re-evaluating my goals and progress I've decided that fat loss is top of the list for the time being and thusly I'm going to focus on that with Afterburn style HIIT and a modification of parts of Stage 7 NROL4W and the Fat loss series in NROL. No more deadlifts for the time being, or really any bendy over kinda thing till I'm 110% again on the tenderloins ya know

But it feels good to quit feeling sorry myself that I got hurt and get my fat ass back on program!!

I managed to get most of a workout done but kinda conked on the last superset. It's a start...erm...restart

I think I'll sign off of this training log and maybe start another since I'm not in the challenge anymore and not strictly following the NROL4W program...and uh..nobody reads this anyway LOL.

I read it.

I hear you on the back - was it 1-leg RDLs or regular? I was doing 1-leg RDL with 1 db last summer and managed to tweak something in my midback/flank as well. I think it was the stabilizing of the twist from holding the weight only on one side that caused trouble. I could RDL more weight than my back was ready to stabilize. It would get better and then tank as soon as I started to work out again. Hope you are better soon.

Nobody II.

Sounds like you've made a "re-grip" on the bar. And I don't think you have to drop out of the challenge if you make program adjustments.

Hmmmmm..... It would be nearly impossible to gain 7 lbs in a week. It is most likely some water weight. It will go quickly once you get back in the program.

Another nobody checking in . . .

I don't think you have to drop out of the challenge if you change programs as long as you state what you are doing, right?

Anyway, I'm glad you're working at making adjustments and adaptations that work for you and I hope you feel up to 100% again soon. I'm going to be watching to see what you come up with that combines stage 7 and Fat Loss and Afterburn, too, as it's always interesting to me to see what others are doing .
