Just back from a conference out of town... I did get my workout done on Wednesday at the hotel gym...
8 minutes warm up on the elliptical
Squats: they did not have a barbell so I used dumbbells and since I wasn't sure on how to do that, I dropped weight from my past work out.
3x10x25# dbs
Push ups
3x10xBW at 30*
Seated row
3x10x12th setting on their gizmo
Step up
3x10x25# dbs These kicked me wittle arse!!
Prone jackknife
3x12xBW
Then a round of HIIT in which I planned to do 3 one minute sprints. I did 2.5 sprints and bonked...something in that gym had started to make me wheeze at that point and I had no more air to work with.
Oh, and erm...at the conference... uhm.. Let's just say I had a re-feeding event Back to the grindstone now I'm home again. Tonite's workout is bumped to tomorrow so I will check back in then.

Hi, I found this thread looking for Weider Club C725 review. How is it please: 1) any problems with assembling, 2) any missing parts, 3) will I be able to fit it in a 8-seat SUV, 4) any problems with everyday usage?
Thanks in advance,
Stan

My husband assembled what he could of it but there were missing parts. He emailed in for them, it was a cable and an end cap I believe. They shipped them quickly. I was able to use it without much trouble with the parts missing so that wasn't an issue.
It does have a Smith Machine which they say here not to use, but it has a squat rack that goes on the front too that isn't a part of the Smith Machine and an extra oly bar so it all works out. It came with a separate bench and 300 pounds of weights so overall I thought it was a great deal for the money. When I priced a bench, oly set, and squat rack separately, it was a lot more money. It also saved DH from having to cobble together a chin up bar for me as it has one.
I've not tried the cable systems on it yet so I can't comment on those and I am not an experienced weight lifter at all so my review may be missing some things you'd need to know.
If you live in a house with 8 foot ceilings, using the the chin up bar may be a little tight as it's 7 foot tall.
We barely fit it in our little SUV, you should have no trouble getting it into the larger one, especially if the seats will fold down.

Thanks Cynic, those look like more solid products than the Weider, but I went ahead with it cause I'm a Sam's Club addict and a horrible tightwad. I hope it holds up well for me.

Thank you very much for the answer, Susan.
Here is my experience with losing weight. I am a male about 6'1" 230 lbs. I am on diet all my life. I can easily gain 20-40 lbs at no time. I usually eat 1/4 of what I could. Always hungry.
1. Our bodies are made of water. We drink, breath, perspire, and p.. . Daily weight changes because of hydration can be 1-3% (a few pounds). Weekly weight loses can be fractions of percent (a few ounces). This is why testing short-term weight lost on a scale is deceiving. Be prepared for a long battle. Use old pants or dress to measure progress.
2. Be very careful with that weight lifting machine!!! You can injure yourself (muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints)!!! Months are needed to adjust to this type of training. Months would be needed to recoup from any injury.
3. I think the key to losing weight is diet (nothing new). An hour of jogging may be needed to burn a cookie. Who has time for it? Although, jogging and weight lifting are great supplements for good health and mood, but don't rely on them 100% for losing weight.
4. I found that I have to starve myself to the point of dizziness and mild headache to lose anything. It is tough!
Good luck on your endeavor!

Stan, starving yourself to the point of dizziness is no way to lose weight or be strong and healthy! Your body needs food (fuel) to gain lean mass and lose fat. Look around this forum.....there are lots of very smart people here who can guide you on the proper way to lose fat, gain lean mass, and maintain.

I don't mean not eating anything. That wouldn't be healthy. But even with 1500-2000 calories per day, jogging 10 miles per week, some weight lifting I get a feeling of "light head" after few days.
Good luck with any "stress-free" weight loss method. We have a few people in my office. All of us, except naturally gifted lean people, are on diet. All, except me, are on stress-free diets. They gain few pounds every year. I stay pretty much on the same weight. There may be people for whom it is not painful to lose weight, for most it is. Most people don't want to suffer the pain, results can be seen on scales.

I'm an easy gainer too Stan, heck to get it to come back off though, but I'll keep plugging away at it.
To that end, my workout report...
10 minutes warm up on the elliptical
Deadlifts:
1x10x125# 1x10x135# 1x10x145#
Dumbbell shoulder press
3x10x25# dbs
Wide grip lat pulldown
1x10x3rd setting 1x7x4th setting 3x3rd setting 1x10x3rd setting
That dang 4th setting is too hard and the 3rd too easy.
Lunge
2x10x25# dbs 1x10x20# dbs dropped a size due to a form break on the second set
Swissball crunch
3x12x10# plate behind my head.
Felt pretty good, not stellar and not doing HIIT today (will tomorrow), but overall okay.

February Challenge Update
To say I'm displeased here would be an understatement, but I'm gonna hold my nose and do it. Here are my update stats and pictures.
Start/Feb
Weight: 184.4/184.7
Neck: 15"/15"
Chest: 39"/40"
Bust: 42"/41.5"
Ribcage: 38"/36"
Waist: 37.5"/37.5"
Hips: 41"/40.5"
R&L biceps: 12"/12"
R thigh: 21"/21.5"
L thigh: 20.5"/22"
And the gruesome photography... showing pretty much what I suspected, no change. Gotta gotta gotta get the eats squared away!

Let's see how many posts it takes to bury those pics on another page
Did some intervals last night on the elliptical and kicked butt. Did 4 sprints instead of three. Got a cardio-CD of really crappy remade 90's dance tunes to listen to. I'm not sure yet if it's helping LOL. "Everybody Dance Now!!"
One fantastic visualization that gets me through the sprints lickety split is running from wildfire uphill to a shelter deployment zone (western firefighting safety stuff). Make it or burn baby!
Really looking forward to tonite's workout as it's my first official use of the new squat rack.

Little-known trivia factoid for ya: She-ra is Jane Fonda's evil twin. Or is it the other way around? Feel the burn, baby!
