I know I commented to you in the photo thread... but oh my goodness Diane you look absolutely incredible! You must be soooo thrilled and proud of yourself! I'm so happy for you! (And glad to hear you're ok after your spill!)

Nothing today but walking and stretching. I've got a golfball-sized swelling coming out from under the outside of my kneecap. Nice. Still no big deal, just some time to let things settle down. I just find it incredibly fascinating to watch lumps and pains and whatever else move around and progress and improve after an injury. It's like free entertainment and I have a front row seat!

Really, there was nothing badass about it. I didn't do anything that messed with the hurt parts.

Yeah, I know. I used to be so good at dips, though! I could really crank those suckers out without breaking a sweat. Something to work towards again, I guess.

Then we're probably around the same place in the book. I usually read for hours and hours each night but, for the past month, I have just zonked out at bedtime and am lucky to get in one pathetic page each night before passing out. At this rate, I might finish it by the time I'm 80. LOL FYI if ya didn't know, he's got another book out to follow up on the first one, In Defense of Food. I've not yet read it -- just got it recently.

Just caught up on the whole iphone catastrophe, and wanted to chime in that I would have done whatever it took to save the iphone. I covet one of those, and I don't blame you for sacrificing yourself! But, really glad to hear you're okay. . .must have been the chinese veggies---even in the bag, they are wondrous things.

I had planned on getting in another lameass workout last night but felt icky so didn't. Nothing major, just allergies slamming me for a couple of weeks finally caught up with me. Anyway, I worked out this morning -- I am so not a morning person so this was interesting.
Assisted/rail squats: 3 x 10 x BW.
BB bench press: 5 x 45#, 5 x 55#, 5 x 65#, 5 x 75#, 5 x 85#.
RDL: 5 x 5 x 135#.
Chin ups: 5 x 5 with Swiss ball & squat rack set up.
Treadmill: SS 3.5 mph @ 3.0 incline for 45 minutes, accompanied by John Mayer (Continuum). Yum.
Notes: Hip is much better, just really tight. Knee is, I think, starting to improve a bit -- still hurts too much for any running or extra-weight-bearing-while-bending moves.

Nice workout Diane... have you been icing that knee?
I've been doing mornings for so long now that I can't seem to get into a rhythm if I don't exercise in the a.m. But these days I am just exhausted and trying to sleep more... and I have to say, it's pretty nice. I do like to sleep more, and workout in the p.m. If I ever get to row again, I might be in trouble.

Good job on the workout! Don't push it to hard to quickly after the tumble!
Have you listened to the John Mayer Trio? Awesome stuff. I like some of his pop stuff, but some can be to teen cheese for me. My wife and I saw him in concert and the best part for me was hearing him do his 10 min version on "All along the Watch Tower" by Hendrix. His guitar playing is crazy good.

Did 30 minutes on the elliptical tonight, random program, moderate pace, steady state. Spent too much time on my ass today so needed to move some. Hip was completely cool with it. Knee, meh, not so bad.

I have no clue how you did all of that morning stuff! I swear I'd sleep in until noon or later every day if I could. Even the neighbors know not to come knocking on my door before noon because I'll cuss them up one side and down the other.

I don't have "Trio" but I see it has some of the same songs that I have on the two CDs I do have (Heavier Things and Continuum). Agreed on some of his stuff being "teen cheese". You know what got me started on John Mayer? I heard his cover of "Chocolate Rain" on youtube. LMAO!
(For those rare people who have never heard it: John Mayer's cover of Tay Zonday's "Chocolate Rain".)

Well, I know that my brother / coach and teammates / best friends are all going to be there, so I have a bit of a push to get my butt out of bed. 4:30am, daily, for the last 13 years (with the exception, of course, of vacation. Man, I do love vacation...). You really do get used to it after awhile.
People know not to call me after 8:30. I don't cuss them out; I just don't answer.

I was. That's why I searched them, then paused them quickly before they loaded. LOL Of course, the bandwidth fairy seems to have blessed me overnight and I now have an abundance. Crazy fairies!
