I didn't know there was a 'nice' one till now! Dang.

They are being quite nice to you. Also to quite a few of others.
I'm posting on the nice one .. but don't really get a lot of feedback on it. There's a couple very interesting & helpful persons over there (Strong, yksin) but yeah.. it doesn't get as lively as BR.com

Ok, mebbe it's me being stupid, but I clicked the link and all I can get to is the announcements threads. There's no other working link on that page to check out the forums...??? Am I missing something?

BR - I think you have to register & sign in before you see the other forums (no unregistered lurking)
LMcD - I think you should see the forums without registering, but I could be mistaken.

June 20

Lazy day. Did an hour in the pool and puttered around here and there.

June 21

Stretch: 30 minutes. I'm normally very flexible but my hamstrings have been mega-tight lately.

Treadmill walk: 60 minutes @ 3.0 mph, total 3 miles. Done barefoot again and felt great, no numbness.

Pool: 1.5 hours.

Light redneck outdoor chores: 2 hours.

Squat: 5 x BW, 5 x 45#, 5 x 65#, 5 x 85#, 5 x 75#. Right hip was giving me crap still which threw everything else off, which led me to collapsing like a broken lawn chair, and argh. Lowered weight to 75# and squeezed out another 5.

Press: 5 x 45#, 5 x 65#, 5 x 65#, 5 x 70#, 3 x 75#, 2 x 75#. Hit my chin on the way down from one of these. Ow.

Power clean (from mid-shin): 5 x 45#, 5 x 65#, 5 x 75#, 5 x 75#, 5 x 80#. Hit my chin on the way up on one of these, same freaking spot.

Notes:

1. Temp was 95-ish during all and felt fine.

2. Neck is 75% improved. Left should is still shit from fence post pounding. Right hip & back still crap from alien probing or whatever it was. Really interfered with my squats and it's starting to piss me off.

3. I so need help with my bar path on the power cleans. I have zero finesse getting it from shin to lift off point on my thigh. Bah.

4. I wanted to run today so badly but with all of the old people parts falling apart on me, I figured more jostling and jarring probably wouldn't help. I either need to get better so I can do what I want when I want or just be sent to the glue factory and have it over with.

Grrrr....

Seriously though, check this out. Except one time where she lifts her toes, her form is pretty good. ...and stop hurting yourself!

Thanks! Yep, I've been looking at that very video off and on since I started the power cleans. Getting my body to do what my mind tells it to, however, is not so easy...

I saw your final pics over at BR, by the way. You look like you added a buttload of muscle, most especially to your legs!

Pauline, I don't think it's in NR4W, although I'm not sure. I'm doing something based on Starting Strength right now. Or trying to anyway. LOL

June 22, Rest Day

Stretch & ball: 1 hour.

Pool time: 1.5 hours.

Easy walk/blackberry picking: 2.5 hours. I must have burned a lot of cals on this one because of the enthusiastic cussing I did when I got caught in the thorns about, oh, every 2 freaking seconds. Ended up with about 2 gallons in the freezer so it was worth it. Need to go again in a couple of days for more!

Back with eats in a few...

This week's eats averages:

Calories.........1457
Fat.................51.5g..... 31%
Protein..........110.6g.....30 %
Carbs............145.5g.....39 %
Fiber...............24.5g

I was aiming for higher protein than that but, overall, I'm happy with it. I'm just not wiling to force-feed myself at the moment, whether for protein or overall calories. I feel good where I'm at, just going with the flow.

Ahhhh, fresh berries-there's nothing like it! We have a couple nice little strawberry farms here that my sister hits which means I end up as the lucky recipient of lbs. and lbs.!
Was glad to read that your neck is getting better. Take it easy on that shoulder/hip issue, we all already KNOW you're a total badass, so rest up and heal thyself!
(if they do end up having to process you into glue, I'm totally down on some of that--be the most stubborn sticking glue ever made!! )

Thanks, guys. Nope, I've never picked mushrooms before although I love them!

June 23

Nothing. Completely crappy day filled with errand running and bill paying. Did end up walking a couple of hours but that was it. Have had an upset stomach tonight so I'm not even going to to a walk on the treadmill. Bleh. It'll be better tomorrow.

Good points for the day because I hate leaving it at just the negative nothings above:

I hunted down and found the Flat Out wraps that Paula mentioned in her log, along with pizza fixin's. Woot! And... Our WalMart just got in some Greek yogurt for the first time -- the individual servings of flavored stuff so I bought a few to try. (They just started stocking the big containers of plain Greek yogurt a couple of months ago.)

I finally got to order Alan's book (Girth Control). Yay! I'd meant to order that with our stimulus check a while back but an unexpected bill popped up and sucked that particular teat dry. Along with that, I also got to order the Hair soundtrack and a Brahms CD (and a couple more books but I won't admit it in public).

So, um, yeah, bills are paid, groceries are stocked, and hubby got a nice check to tide us over for a bit.

Well they can't all be good exercise/fitness days, but at least you got the doldrums out of the way so you have time for the good stuff later
