Yep, I'm thinking the same thing about the runs. I do want the (muscle) size & strength gains that lifting provides -- very, very much -- but, since I'll only be running once a week, it can't hurt much at all, if any. (I think I will start bringing a pistol and/or knife with me, though, as we've found more big cat tracks. *sigh*)

I know plenty of people who run/walk for 1 to 2 hours.

Enjoy your week off and now that I think I can tell you this, without you thinking I am completely crazy I totally think about you and your DL # when I am doing mine. Especially when I feel like I am going to die. I figure if you can do what you are doing, me and my measly weights can make it through. It's inspirational, I tell you.
|
Aw, thanks! I do the same thing, though. I think of whoever has inspired me that week as I'm trying to push through whatever it is that seems to be pushing back that week. LOL

Yep. We all see tracks fairly often. I've not heard of any human attacks in these parts yet but our neighbor's dogs (huge Rottweiler types) got attacked last year. One died and one got mangled very badly.

I agree about I Am Legend. The boy really wanted to see it when it was in theaters, so we went. I LOVE Will Smith... but I was definitely not a fan of that movie. He was the only good thing about it! (And the dog came in a close second... he was adorable! hehe)

05APR2008

This month has sucked in general: massive stress, little sleep, and sitting on my butt indoors way too much due to the non-freaking-stop rain. I'm only down 3 pounds or so from a month ago and my measurement changes, while also down some, aren't anything to write home about either. So not a spectacular month but certainly not a stall, either.
I've learned tons this month with my nutrition experiments so am going to focus on keeping it steady this month. And if the rain ever stops so I can get back outside.... LOL
Halfway through the challenge! Woot!

Hey Diane. You know, I don't think I've ever posted in your log, but I always read it. Hi! I think your progress is great! Glad you're finding a good groove with your nutrition. Low carb just isn't for everyone. I happen to do much, much better on a moderate carb diet. Different strokes. Your ass is lookin' good!

16 lbs down in around 3 months is a great loss of weight, especially considering you were preserving your muscle via lifting.

So hubby, trying to be nice, said to me, "Man, your legs are looking twiggy!" *sigh* I know he means well but "twiggy"? Could he not say "Arnold-like" or "powerful" or "your thighs put the fear of God into me"? Twiggy is the last thing I want to be. I need to send him to obedience school or something. He'd probably like that, though.

Thanks, everyone! I'm fairly pleased with this month's progress considering how my month went. LOL Plus there are quite a few more subtle changes that just don't show up in pics.

Thanks! I've lurked in your log before, too, but don't think I've ever posted. There are so many cool people with logs and I'm trying to get to them one by one... You non-noobs must feel like the place is overrun with us!

That crazy liitle girl was nekkid in ALL of my pics so I had to get some undies on her and retake the one view I couldn't crop her important parts out of. I didn't figure the one with half of a buttcheek would be a big deal, though. LOL
