This week's eats averages:
Calories..........2004
Fat.................90.4g..... 41%
Protein..........178.6g.....36 %
Carbs............118.6g.....23 %
Fiber...............44.5g
I'm hereby taking myself off of the official TNT diet. No reason in particular other than I don't want a "diet", I want good habits. I've learned what I can from TNT and have many good things to take away from it! It's just time for me to move on and further educate (and experiment on) myself.
My new plan is still TNT-ish but more taking into account what I like and what I've learned about varying macro ratios making me feel. For now, my (general) activity level has gone back down a bit, as well as my hunger, so I'm gonna go with the flow and lower my cals to about 1800 and 2000 alternating, depending on workouts and how hungry I am that day.
I'll be lowering my protein a bit, too. I was doing about 1g per pound of bodyweight and did pretty well on it but now I'm gonna drop back down to between 175g on workout days and 135g on rest days, more in line with target weight protein, I'd think.
That puts my protein at 30-35% and, in the spirit of trying to keep my fats up, I'll attempt to keep fat macros around 45-50%. That leaves me with carbs and my beloved veggies. I should be able to pack a bunch of veggies (and the occasional bean) into a 20% macro (90-100g) daily and it'll come with a buttload of fiber, of course.
So there's the new plan. Until I change this up again as needed (or on whim LOL).

It's so cool how you are always willing to experiment on yourself and find what works (and what doesn't!)

Wow. where to begin.
The title is what initially attracted me to your log ( ingenius), and then your very early post about your first quest to find whey was what kept me hahaha.
Some great numbers and a solid diet it seems, dont stop just yet; however, if youre feeling it i would also recommend trying to take a rest week. Stay active, do some long walking or light jogs -- itll help reduce theconstant tension of kids and anything else hahaha. Its surprising, sometimes you make the best gains while resting or right after a week off

Diane... Go for the long slow run. I did that 2 weeks ago and it was the best thing for me mentally. Unfortunately I ended up loosing weight that week. (Dooop) But I still had a great time and would do it all over again.

Diane, sounds like you have it right by feeling you can manage your food without sticking to any specific "diet". Diets aren't bad, but I feel the same way and have much better results without so much structure.
You shall rock!

Good for you and the diet decision. I hear you on all accounts and am doing the same with my eats. Keep up the good work!

Yes.. rebels we are.
Today I was ogling the chickpeas in the store where I buy my weekly 3 cartons (3x30) of eggs and thought of you! Haven't bought them yet, but I am thinking to ease back into eating the easier digestible legumes like lentils. Not sure where chickpeas belong to.
It's ironic that my body handles plain sugar better than legumes. I do wonder how true it is, since once upon a time I spent 4 months in Mexico & Cuba, and ate beans twice a day without apparent problems. They do soak their beans well and in Mexico eat a lot of refried (mashed) beans.

Oh, I definitely will not be stopping. It's been a while since I had a rest week and I can feel my body asking for one so I'm going to listen (after I do today's workout ). I agree about coming back stronger after a rest week -- that definitely happened after my last one. Also, on a hill HIIT run last week, I twisted my ankle and it's now mad at me for pushing through and ignoring it.
Thanks for stopping by!

I knew you'd understand. LOL I've made the decision to go for at least one run a week from here on out. I've always sucked at running (badly) but I absolutely love it -- always have. I've never really timed myself or got caught up in distances and speeds, I've just run for the pure enjoyment of it (and the free T-shirts ). But I've not done any running since the beginning of this year. I wanted to fully apply myself to NR4W, completely immerse myself in lifting (and nutrition), and wanted nothing like my pleasure to distract me. LOL Now that I feel I have things somewhat under control and am comfortable with the mental changes I've made, I feel I can handle a bit of running without it distracting me. (Of course, my definition of a "long" run is different than yours -- or even what my own used to be. Since I added on all of these post-smoking pounds, running is not at all easy!)

Thanks, guys! I know that sticking to official diets work better for some but I had never been on a "diet" before TNT and am just not comfortable with the whole idea for anything other than a short learning experience. I know it's just a word but it's someone else's ideas behind the word.

I bet that was a great experience! Once I kick the kids out of the house, kill off hubby, and find a near-death sugar daddy, ala Anna Nicole, I'd love to just flit here and there around the globe, living among regular folks, completely immersed in the different cultures.

Oh well, I was cycle-touring at the time and spending a lot of nights in my tent guerilla camping. That's next to impossible in Cuba, unless you want to starve yourself since there were few options to buy food when you don't have rations.
In Mexico hotels are fairly cheap and so is eating out.
