Ahh ... I needed this! A good laugh!! Lots of funny stuff in here ... and some GREAT lifting!! I am totally jealous of the Orgasmatron ... why couldn't my hubby have some handy skill like that? He just climbs trees (to take them down). Totally useless!!!

Just checking out your Stage 3 exercises, man you are strong!!!!
Just did first wo on Stage 3, I figured I'd wussed out on the weights a bit, but damn I gotta really push it next time. Nothin like a little log reading to bring out the competitor in me
Great job though.
Body Matrix, ha, you said in my log they were fun.....that is not exactly how I would describe them
How ya doing with planks....I remember you had pain in your back on these....I'm griping about the same thing on the NROLW forum....I get progressively worse on these...

Today's my workout day but I've not done it yet. We were in the middle of doing some drywall and shelf building when hubby had to run to town for a couple of supplies. Now there's crap everywhere and I can't get to my weights. So here I sit on my butt doing nothing, waiting for him to get back so we can finish and clean up. Then I"ll be able to do my workout.

It didn't feel "just like that". It felt more along the lines of the "holy crap". LOL

Oh, very cool! My 11 year old is so ready to kick my ass but it's gonna be a long time before his pudgy butt catches up. Wussy boy.

On the subject of root canals, they just suck and my check's in the mail!
I had to have one about 10 years ago, and the stupid Dentist didn't crown it, just put a filling-thingy in it instead, so about 3 years later, it starts hurting like a mutha. I visited my new Dentist here and was informed that during the first procedure, they hadn't removed all the roots so I had to have the filling pulled out and the whole thing re-done. I liken the experience to my vision of prison sodomy.
On top of the extreme pain, root canals were considered "Major Dental" by both insurance companies, so I had to pay 50% out of pocket. That damn tooth ended up costing me over $800-I'm thinking I could have had the thing pulled and a gold one put in it's place a hell of a lot cheaper.
My advice is that if your Dentist mentions those two evil words, kick him in the junk and run away!

|
I've had about a dozen root canals so far and at least two more to go plus a third root canal gone very, very bad that they need to figure out what to do with. I hate, hate, hate the dentist and, even worse, I never get numbed up in some places. Dentist said some people are just like that. Other places, I can get numbed up but it only last for about 5 minutes or so. In still other places, I numb fine. I REALLY hate going to the dentist.

Dang monkey man. At least make him climb fruit and nut trees and bring you down some goodies!

My planks are finally starting to improve. I've just recently made it over the 60-second mark. They are so freaking tough for me, I cannot believe it.

I'm with ya on the "I HATE THE DENTIST" bandwagon!! I've had a few root canals in my day too. I guess all that torture convinced me I better take care of my teeth so now I'm totally obsessed with flossing EVERY SINGLE NIGHT - it can be 2am and I can be drunk as hell, but I'm still FLOSSING!!!
Don't wanna look like THIS:

Sympathies here.

Great job! You have no problems with cobra though, right? I don't know what's wrong with me, but cobra literally makes me nauseous. Just great.

So much for yesterday's workout. We didn't get the house projects done until after bedtime. Argh.

I was having difficulty with the prone cobras until I realized I was doing 'supermans' instead of the cobra (lifting feet instead of keeping them on the groun).

LOL, me, too ! (Course, I also have to wash my face because I'm worried that I'll have a breakout if I don't wash all the makeup off .)

I don't have any problems with cobras other than that either, but I feel like I could stay there forever. I give up after about 2.5 minutes because why stay like that forever ?

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Jane doing the wrong exercise! I, being repeatedly self-proclaimed as perfect, would never do the wrong exercise.

I think sometimes I'm the only one left in the world who doesn't wear makeup. I look just as scary either way and I'd rather save the time and money.
On the plank/prone cobra topic, WTH do we have to do those anyway? I know there's some redeeming quality about them but, dang, I don't care. I hate the stay-still exercises so much! Argh.

NR4W, Stage 3, Workout B, 3 of 4
Warmup: None
RDL/bent-over row: 3 x 6 x 120#. My right elbow has been giving me fits lately. It's been bad for years but only flares up enough to really tick me off once in a while and this is one of those times. My left elbow is ready for more weight but the right one just doesn't agree right now.
Partial single leg squat: 3 x 6 x 10#e. Still back with the low DBs to work further on depth. I'd really like to get to at least parallel with these before program's end.
WGLP -- subbed WG pull ups: 1 x 4, 1 x 6, 1 x 5. I didn't like how little control I had on the negatives on the pull up bar last time so went with something different this time. I set my Oly bar on the highest pegs on the squat rack and put my feet on my Swiss ball to take some of my weight, then did the pull ups. It worked great! I'm very pleased and felt like I had a much better workout this way AND I was able to do pull UPS instead of just the jump-ups/fall-downs.
Back extension: 1 x 6 x BW, 2 x 6 x 16#. Again with the Swiss ball/step set up. Hubby's making me a back contraption but it'll be a bit since he's got 10 million other things to do as well.
YTWL: 3 x 6 x 10#e. The Ys and Ts SUCK. Not that the others don't but I wanted to draw special attention to the Ys and Ts. Bastards.
Swiss ball crunch: 3 x 6 x long-arm overhead ball (5#-ish?) with feet elevated on 18" step. Still working hard on balance during these.
Hip flexion -- incline reverse crunch: 3 x 6 x BW. Will try adding a band to feet next time since I can't seem to hold a DB or plate without causing injury.
Lateral flexion -- Swiss ball side crunch: 3 x 6 x long-arm overhead ball (same 5#-ish).
Prone cobra: 1 x 90 seconds, 1 x 45 seconds, then just said screw it and did no more.
HIIT: Not done today.
Notes:
1. This week has been incredibly stressful and I'm letting it affect both my workouts and my eating. Not cool.
2. I'm bitchy and whiny.
3. I was in a massive hurry doing this workout tonight so chose to skip the warmup and hurry through, again skipping the majority of my rest periods, rather than miss another day's workout. Bleh.
