With lunges you do 15 in a row with one leg then immediately switch to 15 reps with the other leg. You need to continuously work just one leg at a time. My thing with lunges (and step-ups for that matter) is my poor grip. My 'girly fingers' (as my hubby calls them) wanna give up before I finish the set although I am able to work with a lot more weight.......

Thanks Natalie!
Have you tried barbell lunges?

Yes, I did. They work fine. If you are going to use challenging weigh on that bar you need to be able to push-press it over your head to take it off your shoulders at the end though. Unless you are right by the squat rack and can walk yourself back into the rack.

Hey, I'll get back to the "challenging weight" issue in a couple of months

The lunge in the book specifies alternating legs. So one leg then the other = 1 rep. It is however all reps 1 leg for step-ups.

Wouldn't you be able to get sunflower seeds and run them through the food processor?

Yeah, I must have missed that. That's how the book said to do step-ups, so I assumed the lunges should be the same. On the other hand Static Lunge on p.175 requires us to do all the reps with one leg first, then switch.....Thanks for noticing.

Hiya...I didn't officially enter the challenge on the forum, but have given myself the challenge of doing it and am enjoying reading all this info..For the lunges Natalia mentions doing all 15 reps on one leg and swithing to the next, which is how I've always done them also, but I think the book mentions to alternate between each leg...do you think it makes a difference...I'm find it easier for balace to do the same leg in one shot.

Yep, I also think doing one leg first is easier...I'm a little upset that I wasn't able to do all reps with weights but oh well.
