PEELE-ing Away The Pounds and Stopping The INSANITY
Time for me to come out of "lurkdom" (as you can see by the join date, I've been lurking for a loooong time!!) and join the rank and file with a log of my own!
A bit about me, female, married, 43, 5'6" and this morning was 181 lbs - and that's after LOSING 4 lbs this past week - an all-time high for me. After years of thinking I knew what I was doing (obviously NOT!) it's time to stop doing what I've always done (insanity!) and bring in the big guns!
I have hired Leigh Peele, the Fat Loss Troubleshooter, to help me once and for all! I'll be following her customized-just-for-me program of diet and exercise, as well as picking her brain to learn the whys and the why-nots of nutrition.
I've never had a problem with the workouts - the diet has always been the toughest part for me - and when I stopped making progress and hit the dreaded plateau, that always ended up in a binge, where I would re-gain what I lost, and add a little bit more, just for fun!!
good luck - I've got to admit when I see this log title my mind often overlooks the "LE" and I think - 'yup that's exactly what it is like PEEING away the pounds'

Here's the stats for the challenge (I joined about 5 mins ago!!) - I'll leave my pics in the challenge thread - ONE copy of them floating around is enough!
Stats:
Age: 43
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 181 lbs.
BF%: 34.12% (single point using Accu-Measure)
Neck:14 ⅞
Arm (bicep): Right 13 Left 13 ¼
Chest:40
Waist: 33 ¼
Stomach: 43 ⅜
Hip:43 ¾
Thigh: Right 26 ¾ Left 25 ¾
Calf: Right 15 ½ Left 15 ¼
I don't normally comment on the training logs, but I had to here because I've started with Leigh about a month ago and am around the same age as you and also recently hit my all time high weight. Welcome to the forums Tracey, and best of luck!

I just finished my break-in month, the one that got me back into lifting after taking off 8 months for the first time in as long as I can remember to concentrate on cycling. My metabolic rate is messed up, so that is why I brought Leigh in. At my height, 5'9+", I shouldn't be gaining fat at 2,300 kcals, but that is exactly what happens. After a couple of vicious years where I would lose weight only at 1700-1900 kcals/day (not right for a guy my height and weight) and an off-season tested (actual) RMR at 1400 (1700 during cycling season), I realized I was in a downward metabolic spiral and (as you aptly put it) needed to bring in the 'big guns'.
Leigh knows her movement patterns and how to attack any deficiencies you may have. I'm very happy with her on that. I'm getting stronger, but we're having to tweak the diet portion right now...but I have a lot of goals to hit and first up is flexibility and correcting imbalances. I also like the fact that she takes the time to answer my questions as to 'why' (I have a lot ).
Best of luck on the challenge. I used to log here, but my days of public logging to keep myself motivated are over.
Thanks for taking the time to "report"!! It's only been a week for me, but so far I'm pleased with how things are going! She set me up with some flexibility/mobility stuff, too, to correct some weak and tight areas.
Welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress with H.E.L.L.. If Kaiser is using it, it surely is a great program.
Thanks for the kind words Greg. YOUR drive and fortitude gives me inspiration.
I'm not using H.E.L.L., but rather a custom program that Leigh has put together for me. I've got all sorts of things I need to work on as far as tightness and imbalances, so I needed to have something made up for me. I think Tracey is using a custom-made Leigh program as well.
What I really like is that Leigh takes into account what I like to do (cycling and multi-joint exercises) and need to do (teaching spin classes) and works around or with it rather than fighting me on it (as others have done). And I really saw some gains in flexibility in that first 'prep' month (note to Tracey from someone who has been there: focus and work hard on those preliminary exercises Leigh gives you to see the benefits going forward!)

Greg - Thanks for the welcome!! Kaiser is correct - I'm following a custom program that Leigh put togehter just for me! (BTW - I saw that H.E.L.L. program - YIKES!!! )
I just want to say that I can't believe I missed the marketing GENIUS of the term PEELING away the fat. I mean my god all the puns I have missed out on. I am highly disappointed in myself.
Tracey, is already one of my favorite clients ever! You wouldn't believe the detailed reporting she has gave me. Word to the wise to anyone that hires a trainer or is just being their own trainer, GIVE THE DETAILS! Be it to them or yourself. Bug your trainer with information and keep them up to date on all the information and emotions that you have. It isn't just about numbers either, its about emotional challenges.
Tracey is going to SHOCK you with her results, not because she has an amazing, talented trainer with impeccable fashion sense....sorry where was I.
No Tracey is going to succeed because she is ready to and isn't accepting not having the knowledge as an option anymore.
Also want to point out that if Kaiser had a log I would be giving him just as much props on his efforts.

Leigh - thanks for stopping by!! And, no pressure, right!!??!!! I say BRING IT ON!! I'm so ready to do what I gotta do to get where I wanna get!
NOTES/COMMENTS: Energy levels EXCELLENT today – maybe it was the unseasonably warm 65° day and the fact that, even though I had to go to the dentist, I got out in the sunshine and even put the top down on the convertible!!! I also pre-planned my lunch, since my appt was at 1pm, and I knew if I ate right before (an hour earlier than normal) I would have been hungry this afternoon – so I split my lunch in two and ate half before I left, and the other half on my way home!!
Just stopping by to see how things are going. I'm really interested to see what you're doing differently with a trainer as opposed to using the book. Good luck to you. I'm sure you'll be great!
