Sorry to hear you're sick and I hope you get better quickly!
(Great smilies in this thread.)

Sounds like you have a cold though, I had the flu.
Hope you feel better quick.

Thanks for all the well wishes!!! I'm still sick - even took the day off work, so I'm going to be a lazy bum and do NOTHING. Hopefully that'll make me feel better!!

Didn't you mean to say that you are going to indulge in a quiet rejuvenation period?
Take care.

Today is another day to "indulge in a quiet rejuvenation period" since I'm still sick!! I took another day off work (which I hardly EVER do!) - I was hoping to get back to my workouts tomorrow - we'll have to see how things go.....I'm still feeling pretty run down and beat up!
It's been since Tuesday, and I still feel like crap! I can't sleep cuz I can't breathe since I'm so stuffed up! I miss working out!!! And to top it all off, my poor DH is also sick - and there isn't anyone else to take care of us! Usually only one of us is sick at a time, so one can take care of the other.....not this time!

Oh, sweetie! I'm so sorry to hear this. Darkest before the dawn (and all that good stiff upper lip crap). Do you have a vaporizer? Might help the breathing.

Jeez, that sucks. I know how that is. I always seem to get sick in January, probably because after all the holiday stress my body just breaks down. When the hubby gets sick too things are very miserable around our house.

Thanks! I'm happy to report that I'm on the mend!!! I woke up feeling much better today, though still definately not back to 100%. I'm back to tracking my meals (cals & macros) since I had not been the past few days - was eating when I felt like it (which wasn't very often) and having lots of soup and crackers (and I'm sure WAAAY too much sodium!).
Plan for today is to do some yoga. I've been a couch potato for the last 5 days, and I'm feeling kinda creaky and stiff and need to do some stretching. I'll see how things go, but I'm hoping to feel up to an actual weight workout tomorrow!
DH is feeling better, too!
Now maybe I can post something in my log other than bitching about not feeling good - like maybe an actual workout or something!!!!!!
Glad to hear you're finally on the mend - hopefully you'll get back into the swing of things soon.
Thanks, Tom!!!
Well, I just finished a 20 min yoga routine (I'm still very much a beginner!) and about 15 mins of stretching. Felt good to get the blood flowing a bit!

This is lovely -- I'm presuming this means your head was unclogged enough to bend over comfortably. You'll be back to man-handling those weights again in no time.

Great! Glad you're feeling better and ready to jump back on that workout wagon!
Very glad to hear you're heading back to this side of healthy!

Tracey - MOST of the time I was! There were a couple times my head clogged right back up - knew it was time to stand up straight!!

Like Paula (and a few others!) I've been sidelined by an unexpected cold. Usually things like that will cause me to have an "all bets are off" attitude. I was sick, so I didn't eat according to my plan, therefore I screwed up, therefore why bother, therefore.......and so it goes.
This time, I realized that while I may not have followed "the plan," I needed to allow myself the time to heal and get better, and then just do what I can when I'm ready. This week, because I was still not feeling the best, I'm not going to hit all of my workouts. BUT - I no longer see that as a failure - I see it as an accomplishment that I'm continuing to listen to my body, do what I feel ready for, and go from there!
I thought I'd respond here to keep the other thread more on the team. When I read this the first thing that came to my mind was "That's My Girl" -- meaning we are sisters in spirit. I think listening to my body is one of the best things I've learned. It's funny how doing things in moderation can be as hard as going full steam ahead.
I am soo proud of you!
