He looks like a purebred German Shepherd to me!
I think if he's not chipped, you should let him adopt you

he's handsome - I see the collar - is he neutered? If not, I think he's younger than 2 yrs as he doesn't have the muscle or the ruff of an intact 2 year old.

I'm not sure!
The SPCA just picked him up - they are going to see if he's chipped/tagged, and they have to hold him for 48 hours before they can put him up for adoption.
I called DH to tell him that he was gone - he's kinda disappointed! I told him we have a little bit of time to really think about whether or not we want to go back and get him...but the first priority is to find out if he is just lost because if he is, I'm sure his family is terribly upset!! If, on the other hand, some jerk just abandoned him (which is kinda what we suspect) that's a different story! So we may end up with him after all is said and done anyway.....!!!! But this way we will know for sure AND the SPCA will check him out and make sure he's healthy and all that, too!

Tracey..........He's beautiful! I agree in that he looks like a pup.....maybe a little over a year? He also reminds me of my German Shephard that I had while growing up. They are such gentle dogs that are great protectors. I miss having her around since I'm thinking about it.
Gahhhhhhhh on your trailer. That really stinks. I hope they get that faucet fixed and you are all ready to go with no drip, drip, drips!
BTW........I got one of the cyclinder tea pots from Teavana for iced tea. Pistachio Apple pie is sooooooo yummy as iced tea (I got that too since it was on sale.......lol). The only bad thing is it only makes 34oz. at a time. So, my solution.......I made it very strong and will only pour 1/2 a glass and add brita water to it in order to water it down to my liking. Yummo!!!

I guess you could say that, Tom. Only, there is no sugar or sweetner added and it's just the awesome flavors of Teavana. It stinks that the pitcher is so small. I'd only get two glasses out of it otherwise.
I'm making a batch of Rooibus Orange now......That should be good, too.

Makes me think of my Snoozeberrynosepie. Best dog. He was shepard/collie/Heinz57 and smarter than most people. True love. Hope you get to keep him.

Well, I did call the SPCA back and asked how he was, and if they had found out whether or not he had been chipped. I was told "I don't know - I wasn't here when they brought him in"...and then when I explained that we had decided we might want to adopt him, was very rudely told "You shoulda just kept him then!!" Ummmm...maybe, but we thought we were doing the right thing by having him picked up and checked to see if he actually belonged to someone! I know if he was mine and had gotten lost, I would HOPE that whoever found him would be willing to turn him into the SPCA so I could get him back.
I was then told that they had to "give the owners 5 days to claim him, then we have to evaluate him to see if he's adoptable, and then get him fixed, wormed, etc etc etc" all in a very annoyed tone of voice - as if me calling and having him picked up was such a nuisance! Never once did she say "Call back in x # of days and I can give you more info" or "That's great you would like to adopt him".... so we aren't sure WHAT'S going to happen next!
