Today is another busy day. We have to head down to visit DH's grandmother for her birthday celebration. I have my game plan all set to deal with the hours away from home, as well as the cake/ice cream dilemma. Since we have to be there at our normal dinnertime (AND it's about 1 1/2 hours away - one way - so we'll be in the car for a total of 3 hours), we are re-arranging our eating schedule a bit. I'm going to have a Zone Bar (Chocolate Almond Biscotti flavor ) while they are having cake and ice cream - I still get something yummy so I won't feel deprived and it sure fits into my plan better!!

Tracey.......Your planning sounds like it is going to set you up for a very successful day, today. Did I read correctly about your "treat day?" That's awesome......You hit your calories and did well with it!!!! Keep on, keeping on!!!!

The almond biscotti is now in my favorites along with Mate Vana and Spice Nut Mate......You'll love it!!!

Good planning for the party today ... I'll have some planning to do since we'll be going out to dinner in a few weeks (we have tickets to see JC Superstar at the theater in Hartford). And then at the end of May we go camping for a weekend with friends. We each do our own food, so that won't be as bad as if we were all pooling. And the following weekend is my 40th ... I'll be planning some cake (gluten-free) into my plan that weekend!!
Oh, and I checked tracking, and my Teavana order should be here Monday!! Yay!!
|
We are getting ready to book our first camping trip of the season!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Damn you, Tracey! I USED to only have coffee as a vice.

Yesterday's Workout
Cathe's StepWorks DVD
56 mins total
AVG HR: 140
Well, I'm happy to report that
A) I was able to finish the step workout without tanking this time
B) I did EXACTLY as planned at Grammy's birthday celebration yesterday - not a single forkful of cake, or spoonful of ice cream passed these lips!! I thoroughly enjoyed my Chcolate Almond Biscotti Zone bar!!
I'm charging up my iPod Shuffle so I can get out for some walking this week - starting tomorrow the weather is supposed to be SPECTACULAR! A lunchtime stroll around the neighborhood sounds like a fine idea!

Thanks, Kiri! That's kinda how I've been feeling lately!!!
Here are some updated pics (Leigh LOVES pictures!!)
I'm feeling REALLY good about my progress - I think it's all finally starting to really 'click' for me!! I know what to do, how to do it, and I'm on a roll now!!! I'm really proud of myself for sticking to it, and not giving up. AND I think I'm actually starting to see some GUNS in that last picture!!!
My wonderful DH is one of my biggest supporters! He's always willing to change up the menu, cook me new, yummy, healthy foods (yup - I'm spoiled - he cooks!) and he's my biggest cheerleader. He has also NEVER EVER complained about my weight and constantly tells me that he loves me no matter what I weigh!
And of course, there is LEIGH PEELE - without her guidance and support my journey would have ended as it always did in the past - right back to square one (or even worse!) She's been so awesome about TEACHING me what I need to know to continue to be strong and healthy for the rest of my life.
And YOU guys here at JP have been such an inspiration and have certainly helped keep my butt in line! You are always there with advice, hugs, and the ocassional kick in the ass that I need and I can't thank you all enough for the support that you give me!!

Your pics are great as always Tracey! And yes, I agree... I see some guns in that pic! I'm glad things are starting to click for you and that you avoided temptation at the birthday bash!

Wow, awesome progress Tracey. See! You didn't give up, if you had a bad free day you got right back on the program, when you got burnt out you followed Leigh's advice and did LESS instead of pushing MORE. You did everything right and you got the results you wanted. Yay for you. Leigh is great about not letting people give up and isn't afraid to give you a swick (and hard) kick in the pants when needed.

Today's Workout
Sets: 4
Reps: 8
Rest: 45 secs between sets; 2 mins between exercises
Deadlift 115lbs
Step Ups 12lb db's - 7 risers
Swiss Ball Glute Raise
Foam Roller Crunch (w/8 lb medicine ball)
Plank 2 mins 31 secs, 2 mins 5 secs, 1 min 33 secs, 1 min 14 secs
Followed by
15 min light walk on the treadmill
.85 miles total
AVG HR: 111 (~62%)
Then, I did my flexibility/mobility work.
*I'll be alternating deadlifts each workout - between romanian and conventional.
*Since I don't actually HAVE a foam roller (YET) I am using the edge of my step to do the crunches.

WOW!! Look at that progress! You go girl. I can't believe even for a second that you doubted yourself.
Doesn't it feel good when you finally get the feeling of being empowered? Of knowing that you know what to do and having the confidence that you can make it happen! Congratulations on reaching that milestone. With that nugget you have already one the challenge.

Tracey.......Once again, you are blowing me away with your updated pictures. Besides those guns......look at your shoulders!!! All I can say is WOW!
I just have to say how lucky you are to have such a great support in your DH. It's wonderful that he cooks for you, plans with you for trips, and is your biggest cheerleader. You've got a keeper.
As for your comments about Leigh....OMG, I totally agree. I was really nervous about working with a PT online instead of real life. Can I just say that compared to PT's of several other friends, we've hit the jackpot. I'm blown away every week with how much she puts into my program....and then yours.....and then Julie's and so many more. I'm so happy I sent that initial contact because Leigh is really putting me in the right direction.
