RE Cheesy Rack Girl: At least they gave her real weights to pose with.

You've got to post a picture when you get it all set up. WOO HOO!

So true!!!

RE: the picture - Will do - and maybe I'll even pose as the "cheesy rack girl"

Ya know, sometiimes it's the simple things (no, I'm not talking about myself....geeez!)! I like to have a piece of fruit with my lunch most days - usually a nice "ending" to the meal. Well, today's fruit was a banana, but what I REALLY wanted was chocolate. So, instead of just "peel and eat banana" - I did something SO SIMPLE yet SO YUMMMMMO!

I peeled the banana, cut it up and put it in a bowl. Then, I dusted it with about 1/2 tsp of Hershey's European Style Dutch Cocoa powder, squirted a little bit of light whipped cream on top, and VOILA!!! A yummy dessert that only SEEMED indulgent! AND took care of the chocolate craving!!

The only question I have for myself - WHY didn't I think of this sooner!!!

Tracey, have you tried raw cacao beans? They are very bitter but have the crunchy fatty taste of nuts and there are a lot of things you could do with them to sweeten them up. I like to munch on one here and there, it helps take the edge off and gives me the benefits of chocolate too. Happy squatting in your new rack!

Nope, haven't tried them - I'll have to put them on my list next time we visit our local natural foods co-op (which is a LOT these days!) Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Tracey,

Here is the recipe:

Cocoa Meringues

2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar (optional but holds the whip)
sweetener (stevia, Splenda, da Vinci's sugar free syrup)
I have used Splenda and used 1/4 cup
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
cocoa (I just used a few tsp. probably could use more)

325 degree oven.
Whip whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sweetener and vanilla and beat to stiff peaks. Put tin foil, shiny side down, on a cookie sheet. Put little scoops of egg whites (probably 6-8) all over foil. Bake 20 minutes at 325 degrees.

1/4 cup Splenda and 1/8 cup da Vinci syrup can be used. Could add 1/2 scoop protein powder, also.

I hope they turn out good!

Today's workout was

30 mins total
5 min warmup
20 mins of Intervals of 1 min @ 6mph / 1 min @ 3mph
5 min cooldown
AVG HR: 141

Nothing stellar about the workout. It was.....a workout! The plan was for a Cathe Step Aerobics DVD, but they are usually close to an hour long. I was waiting for delivery of our final piece of office furniture - the lateral file (again, since the last one we got was damaged! GRRRR) - and they gave the poor truck driver the WRONG address. He was waaaaay down the road and his cell service kept dropping when he would call me for directions!!! He finally got here, but it was close to 4:30pm by that time so I opted for the quicker 30 min treadmill workout.

I do love meringues. Uh oh, reading this thread is causing some chocolate cravings to rise up....actually, I should be okay for now. Sometimes after dinner I really need a hit of chocolate and find that making some homemade cocoa isn't a bad option. It's a nice warm mug of chocolatey goodness, which is warming and filling. I just use about a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder and a pinch of sugar (I don't like sweet) and stir that with boiling water and it often does the trick.

I can't believe the furniture people are messing with you! Don't they know that you have biceps that should not be trifled with?

Thanks for the Cathe recommendations--I'm so buying a few new ones. I love my IMAX 3 but I'm doing it so much I'll get sick of it, and I don't want that. By the way, if you want to try something new--I have Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge II and once I learned the moves (tough for a klutz like me) I LOVE it. It's really fun.

How many more hours till the power rack arrives??!!

I love Cathe Friedrich, too. I have her pyramid upper and lower body workouts. For fun tough aerobics, Christy Taylor is the best! Solid Gold Cardio is my favorite!

The furniture delivery was a success - this time it wasn't damaged! DH got it put together last night and all is well!
