Bleh. It was a bad week for working out. On top of a nasty cold, I've been transitioning off of Lexapro and the withdrawal has not been fun - nausea, light-headedness, and problems with short-term memory. Wow. I can't imagine what it must be like to go through withdrawal from stronger drugs! The good thing is that I'm at 1/4 of my original dose now and am feeling a lot better. I am starting to feel like myself again after months and months of feeling like a zombie. And I've lost 4 pounds since I started tapering off a week ago. I think it's probably all water weight - but it makes me hopeful that the weight I gained with Lexapro may come off easier than it was coming off before. Anyway, because of my light-headedness and nausea, I was afraid I'd drop weights or hurt myself in the weight room, so I have stuck to "safe" stuff like push-ups and crunches for the past week and a half.
Anyway, on to the good news - I finally felt good enough to lift today and OOOOOOH it felt good! And I was able to maintain the same weights I did before I got sick, so that was awesome. I was expecting I'd have to go down in weight for the second sets.
Workout B Day $:
Deadlifts: (with dumbbells) 12x40
Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 12x24
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown: 12x30
Lunge: 12x24
Swiss ball crunch: 10xBW

I feel so good this morning... a little sore, but so happy I worked out yesterday. I also jumped on my mini-trampoline for about 20 minutes this morning until my cats decided to start attacking my feet and I was afraid I was going to step on them. It was very fun until the biting started.

Same thing for me, but with in-laws instead of cats.

Yay! Glad you are back. I hope the weaning gets easier for you. I have friends who have gone through that very thing and it is hard.
LOL @ the image of the cats on attack!
Great workout and glad that you felt better, I know I always do.

I'm totally entertained by all the typos in my previous posts. Apparently I can't type after I work out.

Looking good! I tend to have typos after a good workout, too.

Now that we're officially "weight lifters", we're meatheads with sausage fingers and, therefore, cannot be held responsible for grammatically incorrect sentences nor inaccurate typing.

I forgot to post a workout last week - oops. It was Tuesday or Wednesday, and of course I didn't write down my weights. I think I'm going to "re-do" it today because that way I can track the weight.
Here's my measurements, and I'll add photos tonight (also adding to the challenge thread):
Measurement: today (change from Jan/change from Feb)
Chest: 37.5 (+1.5/+.5)
Under chest: 28 (na/-1)
Above chest: 33 (na/+1)
Ribcage: 29 (-.5, -.5)
High/natural waist: 28.5 (-.5, -1)
Low waist (just below belly button):32 (0, -1)
Hips: 35 (-1)
Butt: 39 (-1, -.5)
Thighs: 23 (-1, 0)
Calves: 14 (-.5, -2)
Bicep: 12 (+.5, 0)
I can definitely see changes in my body. The muscle tone in my thighs is a lot higher; they're very firm everywhere except one small pad of fat on each inner thigh. My calves have gone back down after going up 1.5 inches between January-February, but they're looking much more defined, so I think much of the loss was fat. My arms are also looking a lot more defined. Yay!

I swear I am not this air-headed in real life. I was mad at myself for not writing down my workout last Tuesday (see post from yesterday), when I scroll up and see... a post from last Tuesday with my workout in it. Duh! I'm not sure if I should be relieved that I did indeed write it down or disturbed that I missed it several times while looking at my log! I am about to workout now, so it's nice to know which day (A) I'm doing!
One other random thought (hey, it's my log, I can say whatever I want):
If I told someone that I had posted pictures of myself in my sports bra and shorts for other women (and a few men) to scrutinize and comment on my stomach, thighs, butt, arms, etc., they'd think I was either a glutton for punishment or a victim of some sort of hazing ritual. And yet that's exactly what those of us in the challenge do here at least once a month, and it's such a positive experience! It's so cool!

Yesterday:
Workout A Day 6
Squats - 3 sets 10x50
Push-ups - 3 sets 10xweight bench
Rows - 3 sets 10x50
Step-ups - 3 sets 10x16
Crunches - 3 sets 10xBW
For some reason, I had an urge to run (me? run? really!?) so I did ten minutes of walking/running (2:1) intervals on the treadmill when I was finished with my weight training. And could barely move afterward. I went to bed at 9:30 pm!

Hey -- I saw another cheesehead and thought I'd say hello! Actually, I live in MN now, but grew up in WI and feel more labelled as so than as a Gopher or Mud duck (loon)! My husband is a Badger alum (I went to one of the lesser UW schools) too so we still spend time in Madtown now & again.
Great job on the workouts. You'll get there with the recovery and results. Sometimes it takes the outside a little time to catch up with the inside.

That is so true, isn't it? You are doing great and you are correct, there is some significant difference in your pictures and numbers. You are doing great!
