Must be the Alzheimer's acting up. Joke went right over my head. As usual. Or is it the ASS thing? Somebody needs to lift the damn thing off the back of me knees! And, I wanna know at what bf% does the cellulite go away!!?? I've lost 60 something pounds and it's still there. All of it. I think it loves me.

Where'd those smilies come from? I need some of those.

Hey Cynic, I think it's probably better to keep the quit thing secret. I did too because I didn't want to hear the disappointment in Mom's voice when I failed again. Plus there's the "how you doing, do it this way, do it that way," crap one has to listen to from people who've never had to give up smoking. Like I wanna hear that when I'm ready to kill the next person that even thinks about looking at me funny. My favorite is, "Just do it." OK. Yeah. I didn't just "do it" the last 3 million attempts. Yeah, that must be where I went wrong, why didn't I think if that. Duh! Thanks!

Then when people found out I'd quit everyone would say, "Don't you feel so much better now?" Uhm, nope. I didn't. In fact, I had to go on anti-depressants for a year after I quit. Nope not a good feeling. Only reason I stayed quit was because I didn't want to gain any more weight if I had to quit again.

I had to do an arbitration hearing last week, so I was preoccupied trying to act like a really crappy lawyer. How do people do that for a living? I could never. Once upon a time I wanted to. Good thing I had better, ok well, funner things to do at the time than go to law school.

So, didn't log here but made my workouts. It was the only thing that kept me sane and probably stopped me from hiding under my bed until the whole thing was over. Oh, and I won.

1/14 Monday:
12 min. HIIT - 45/90. Max HR 178
30 min. treadmill

1/15 Tuesday:
Squat: 2x12x47.5
Lunge: 2x12x60
DB Row: 2x12x60
Jack knife: 2x10
Push Up: 2x12 on the floor

1/16 Wednesday:
30 min treadmill

1/17 Thursday:

DL: 3x10x57.5
DB Press: 3x10x40
Step Up: 3x10x40
Crunch: 3x15 - gold ball
Assisted PU 1x10@82, 2x10@seventy something. I only wrote down a 7 . I assume it's whatever comes after the 82. I think they must be 6lb plates so, if I could do math I'd know what that would be...uhm 76?

1/18 Friday:

16 minutes HIIT, 1/2 min. Max HR 176
10 minutes arc trainer

1/20 Sunday:

Squat: 3x10x? I don't know how much weight. I used the gym bar + 30lbs
Pushup: 3x12 on the floor. Ouch!
Lunge: 3x10x60
Jackknife: 3x12 OMG.

I accidentally upped sets. I got confused about which week/workout I was on. I should have been doing 2 sets.

1/21 Monday:
HIIT - 15 min 1/2 min, then I did 3 rounds of that tabbatha(?) stuff. Max HR was 172. I was having to really push today. First interval I couldn't even get above 80%. It was like my muscles were giving out early. My legs were burning by the time I was done. They are still kinda wobbly.

OK now I have to go eat. Again. All I do is eat. It's nuts. That's scale better move tomorrow. It hasn't moved all week and it's making me nervous.

Oh yeah. I had been quit for almost two years and started back up. My mom was so disappointed.

My supervisor is wanting to quit, but he's not making much strides in the effort, even though his wife is a non-smoker and he's been trying to quit as a promise to his mother-in-law.

I like saving money. I also like not having to go out in the cold to smoke.

Me, I was wound tighter than usual and my job is frustrating with the corporate mgmt breathing down our necks.

I feel your sudden lardy pain. I quit 1.5 years ago and packed on a sudden 60-70 pounds in a couple of months. BOOM! Hello, Michelin Man!

And that's when I started beating random shoppers at WalMart. It was better than beating people I knew -- too easy for the cops to trace it back to me.

No kidding, that alone is worth quitting for! I play poker tournaments and it's great not to be sitting there light headed and ready to jump out of the chair and run outside ASAP to go smoke.

I can't help but think smoking does something to metabolism besides the slight increase they claim. Or maybe it's the removal of the nicotine or whatever else that messes things up for some of us? I wasn't eating enough to gain that much weight in that time frame. I'd go to my Weight Watchers meetings and people would be saying, "You didn't gain it overnight...blah blah." I'm like uhm, well, actually...."

OK, I started out thinking this Stage 1 was going to be too easy. My last two workouts have kicked my butt. I couldn't even do cardio on Sunday, I had nothing left. And this is break in? Jeez. I don't know if I want to do the 2 extra weeks for beginners or take a week off. I hate days off and now I'm feeling like I'm probably going to have to take it. Soon.

Monday, 1-21
15 min HIIT, 3 Tabata

Tues 1-22 1B #8
I have no idea how much the bar weighs. It feels like 35ish to me. I'm waiting for that walking pheromone guy to be nearby when I'm doing these so I can ask him.

DL: 1x10x40, 1x10x45, 1x10x50

Assisted PU: 3x10@82

DB Press: 1x10x40, 1x10x50, 1x9x50

Step Up: 3x10x50

Crunch: 2x15 gold ball, 1x15 blue ball

Thrs 1/24

16 min HIIT 60/120

Friday 1/25 1B #9
I hate these numbers. They look too low. I can squat at least 70lb for 3x10 with DB's. That bar better weigh more than 30lbs. If not, I will cry.
Squat: 1x10x40, 1x10x45, 1x10x50

Pushup: 3x12 floor

DB Row: 3x12x60

Lunge: 3x10x60

Jack Knife: 3x12

20 min treadmill

Saturday 1/26 #10

35 min treadmill

Sunday 1/27 1B #12

DL 3x10x50 + a bunch of bruises up and down my legs. Apparently I'm using my knees too much on the way back down!

DB Press: OH man, I moved up too quick on these. I was getting a pain shooting down one arm and kept pushing anyway. I'm an idiot. Didn't hurt myself but I sure could have.
1x10x50, (Because that's what I did last time for almost 2 full sets so why not right?) Uhm, nope. Left arm doesn't wanna do this today.
1x9x50, 1x8x50.

Step Up: 3x10x50

Crunch: 3x15, blue ball

Assisted Pullup: 3x10@82. Even these were harder than last time. Maybe because I upped it's partner DB Press? Or maybe this just wasn't my day? I dunno. I went home mad. I think I understand now why some people throw weights around.

Monday, 1/28
16 min HIIT 90/120 on the treadmill. Usually I use the arc trainer for this. So I don't know if the increase in work interval was due to the treadmill being easier or not. My RHR was mid 60s 2 weeks ago. It's mid 50s this week. I don't know what that's about- seems like too fast a drop to me but I have no clue. Either I'm dying or I'm getting stronger.

Tuesday, 1/29 1A #13
I had to use that stupid effing smith machine thing or wait too long to use the bench press as a rack. I got a great workout leaning against the bar. I shouldn't even count these.

Squat: 1x10x50, 1x10x60, 1x10x70

Pushups: 2x15, 1x11. Someone suggested I try them on the upside down bosu ball. Then she showed me. I asked her why she was trying to kill me.

DB Row: 2x10x60
I was going to up the weight/lower reps but the 35lb dumbells are HUGE - maybe 8 inches in diameter. I have enough bruises from weights being slammed against me. I guess I have to switch to the upright row machine which means I have to un-superset these otherwise I'll have people tripping over me when I'm doing pushups. I can't even go into the corner in the back of the gym and not have people stepping over me.

Jack Knife: 3x15. I started to like these for a workout or two. I've changed my mind.

edit: ugh now I'm confused about what workout number I'm on. Wish I could count!

Is it an oly bar? Do you know the length? Otherwise, is there a scale in the place? You could weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding the bar and find the difference.

A lot of people say you should be scraping your shins on DLs, but it's really a matter of frame type. I rarely ever hit my legs with the bar.

1x9x50, 1x8x50.
You did fine. I would call that a stay load, meaning you stay at the load and work toward 3x10.

So far, I'm seeing nothing wrong. You didn't fall back, you are completing all reps of all sets on exercises where you didn't increase weight. Maybe you felt it was harder, but it was more a mental block?

I will go on record as saying if you are completing all reps of all sets, it's time to increase loading. I tend to go with 2.5-5lbs for unilateral and 5-10 for bilateral.

OK back to logging. I kinda don't like doing this but I also kind of need to because my memory is really, REALLY messed up. I can't remember what I did last workout but I can remember my replacement debit card pin# that I looked at, literally, once. Of course next time I'm grocery shopping and the cc network is down I'll surely blank on the pin. I used to blank on my old pin even though I'd had it for years. My brain is broken.

Anyhoo.....

Lemme update a couple stats:
Weight 141.5
Waist: 27.5
Belly: 32
Hips: 34.25 or 34, I forget, I measured this morning, now it's almost tomorrow.
L Bicep: 10.75
L Thigh: 21.5

Today I noticed for the very first time in my whole entire life, even my former young thin pre-children life, some sorta tricep or something definition. I'll try to get pics tomorrow. I was like, OMG WTH is THAT????

Started phase 2 on 2/8. I didn't write things down prior to workout 5 and I'm not gonna try to go by memory. I haven't upped weight too much anyway. Not at all on some stuff. Just on the lunges and bss I believe and maybe DLs.

2/17 Phase 2, A #5

Squat - I'm keeping these because I like these. So shoot me. I'm starting to gym shop. I need a real gym. I keep getting crap from the boys when I use their bench press as a rack. They ask me how long I'm gonna be. I tell them 10 minutes. They ask me why I don't use the smith - it's easier and safer. I say, I'm fine tyvm, go do some body curls while you wait. Body curls are my name for how they do standing bicep curls. Then they stand there and watch me squat. And then I want to kill them.

So, Squat, 3x8x115

Squat Push Press: 2x10x30 - I have to do these with dbs and it doesn't work too well form wise for me. I tried the smith but I tend to flex my wrists at the top for some reason then the bar catches or just makes this loud crashing noise and the boys get scared of me when I do that. Hmmm maybe I should keep doing it?

One Point DB Row: 2x10x60
Step Up: 2x10x60
Static Lunge (rear foot raised) 2x10x60
Pushup (feet on Bosu) 2x10
Plank: 2x60sec
WoodChop: 2x10 #4 plate, no idea on weight - I feel it but its light, my form sucks on these I think.

30 min treadmill

2/20 Phase 2, B #6

DL - Here's another one that gets the boys going. I love it when they help me load the warmup plates and shake their head at me like I'm crazy. And, no box in my gym, so it's just DLs for me. I'm not using 45s so I am a bit lower but whatever...

3x10x135

BSS: 2x10x50

Underhand Lat Pull - uhm, the plate said either 60 or 80. 60 or 80 what I don't know. If it's pounds, just call me Arnold. It felt light.

Reverse Lunge, rear foot of Bosu because I dont have a box: 2x10x50

DB Cuban Snatch: 2x10x20
Crunch: 2x12
Reverse crunch:2x12
Lat Flex: 2x10
Cobra 2x90

2/21
20 min HIIT, 10 min SS

2/22 Phase 2, A workout #7
Same as the previous A.
15 min Arc Trainer, 15 min treadmill.

Glad to see you back. I've missed your sense of humor.
Love that the noises scare the boys. Keep it up! LOL

Do you keep a paper log as well?

I don't log here, but I do keep a paper log. I may log online again, I don't know. It's a lot of work to make it look nice.

Next, I'm gonna try to scare the boys with those orgasmic sounding grunts I keep hearing about but think are just really a myth or some guys wishful over active imaginations.

I was keeping a paper log but...well...I'm lazy.

OK rest week. At least a week.

I didn't even try to do any lower body stuff for my last workout. My knees are done. I've been icing which helps the swelling feeling but something isn't right. Yesterday I was doing some incline db presses, lying back on the bench while flexing knee made the side of my leg from hip to ankle partially numb or something. I guess that's kinda bad. I was fine so long as I kept the knee extended.

I was shopping last night, I had to get something from down low, so I squatted. When I reached full knee flexion and I nearly passed out from the pain. And that's after 3+ days of no lower body resistance work.

If this silliness doesn't stop in a few more days I will go see the Dr. I'm kinda scared.

I guess I have to say no to the treadmill too. Today was my first off day, and even after NO rest, I'm already 5lbs heavier than I was 2 friggen days ago.

Last night I was at the mall trying on things that show off my former D cup, now non-existent cleavage, all I can see are ugly veins running down my arms. Yet, still, my butt is still covered in cellulite AND I CAN'T WORKOUT lol omg help

I need a cry baby smiley.

There ya go.

Gee, I know about the knee crap. I hope things come along. I fell off my danged flip flops this summer using the hose, all wet and stuff. It took a good month for that thing to calm down! It didn't even feel like I did anything!

This is exactly what seems to have happened to my body. I just bought the first A cup bras of my life a couple weeks ago.

I think it is pretty normal for women to lose the fat off the top first. I feel like I am finally starting to see some change in my legs, so hang in there!

And definitely get to the doctor about your knees. That totally sucks.
