Yesterday was 'workout b' 3x8. 80# on deadlifts, 25# on overhead presses- still need to work on upping the weights there, but I have powerblocks and the next interval is 30 - which I can do, but only one arm at a time. I might need plate mates or similar. I also did 20 minutes of intervals, then ran to the car dealer to sit on my butt for FOUR hours while they tried to fix my leaky roof. What joy!
Been trying to up my calories a bit - I use the daily plate (is fitday EVER going to update?!?!) along with manually logging calories burned from my Polar F11 and it's showing me my 'net' calories (seated work activity level + exercise) are running in the 1300 range, definitely too low. (I'm eating 1800ish so no one freak out! ). I'm trying to get calories - exercise in the 1800 range to see if it makes any difference. If I gain, well, that's not the right direction.

Workout A today. 100# on squats, 95# on rows - Had to drop about 10 # off the last set of rows, I think I was too ambitious there! Stepups done with 60# on a barbell. Whew! I did a barry's boot camp interval cardio following weights. And ate lots o good food!

Cardio/Bootcamp workout today as my 'my choice' workout - did Cathe's BodyMax + later a long session of dance dance revolution. Hey, it's saturday! Time for fun. It's also my high calorie day, but just didn't feel like eating my usual junk, so the worst change to my 'diet' was a costco frozen yogurt and some chocolate chips in my protein pancakes.

Hey featherz, numbers look good, real good. Especially those squats. Neat that you found healthy ways to treat yourself today.

Workout 'b' yesterday - last workout of first phase. Had to go a little lighter on the deadlifts - 75# - trying to get better form. Stayed at 25# for overhead presses. I did a few reps at 30#, but I feel like I'm wrenching my shoulder getting them over my head. I need more equipment, but I'm moving soon so can't buy anything heavy unless I don't mind leaving it!
Also did a set of intervals. This morning I did a bit of SS cardio (yes I know) before work - work days not much time for anything else!

Started phase 2 today. Did well, but I'm doing it at home so the woodchoppers were a bit of a dilemma. I ended up using a 20# dumbbell since I have no cable station. Also did 20 minutes of HIIT on my elliptical, which is starting to squeal at about 15 minutes. Not sure what you do for that - it's a rather low end elliptical (it was $599 at amazon a few years ago, but I got it for $50 in a contest). Maybe wd-40. :P
I used to be good at planks, now not so good!
Calories today around 1900, 43% carbs, 37% pro, rest fat.

Phase 2, workout #2 today. Went well although I had to use bands - I think I may sub in chinups for the lat pulls. No, I can't do 10 chinups, but I can do two and cheat the rest (toe on a chair) which I think is more of a workout than bands. Also did 20 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical with intevals of one minute at 3,6,9,12,15, and 18. All while watching 'Dinosaurs' (the tv show). NOT THE MAMA!

Haven't posted in a few days - been busy getting hubby packed and sent off for his east coast trip! Phase II, workout 1 today. Plus I just did a 5 mile walk - I had to get out of the house after being home cleaning and packing all day yesterday.
Diet is on track - been diligently trying to up my calories a bit as I have been so active. I've been averaging roughly 1900-2K with macros about 35P/45C/20F.

Stage II, Workout B today. I always have problems with deadlifts, for some reason - today I am still having some ankle pain so I went lighter on the box dl's, about 65#. Did the lat pulldowns with my black band/door hanger - next time around I'll do chinups (mostly cheated after about two).
Also did 22 minutes of HIIT on my Elliptical (intervals at 3/6/9/12/15/18) .
Still don't notice any major body composition changes, but measurements this weekend. I started out decently, just no definition to speak of, so that's probably why. Only place I have plenty of muscles showing is my calves. :P
Daily plate tells me I'm about 35P/45C/20F, 1815 cals.

Did stage II, workout A two days ago (and forgot to post like a ninny). Also did 20 minutes HIIT and yesterday did about 45 of SS cardio + some dance dance revolution. (which I suck at, but all my floundering can make for a good workout!)
Did measurements today - not doing well - UP almost 1/2 inch in hips and 1/4 in thighs - yuck! I'm sure it's the eating, not the workout. I've been 'clean', but going about 1800-2K. I think I'll have to cycle the calories down a bit. My plan is to go down to about 1500 MWF and 1800 on STTH and rearrange the macros (more P/F, a bit lower on carbs). I think the vitamuffins, although within calorie limits, may be doing me in.
Measurements will be done again next saturday and let's hope for the best!

1. Might be muscle gain.
2. Could just be the human factor in measuring. I know my measurements can easily fluctuate by 1/2" by unknowingly holding the tape in a slightly different way or a smidgen off from the previous location.
3. Or not. LOL

Nah, I don't have much muscle in my hips LOL. And I've been measuring weekly for too long to have that much error. It's fat OR water (I DID work out yesterday, which I generally do not do before measurement day). However, it's gone up before and gone back down, I just have to be more diligent.

Did workout B yesterday - although I have to admit to a half assed effort. I have a doozy of a cold/flu and should not have even bothered but I did it. :P Also did LIGHT cardio today - with a cold, my resting HR is much higher so I don't have to do much to get HR into 'the zone'.
I actually feel much better today although my voice is completely shot! Had to call off from work today - I'm a nurse and deal with 75-100 people daily including lots of little kids so croaking at them was not a good plan. I volunteered to work two other days this week to help out and make up for missing today.
Tried Joseph's low(er) carb flax/oat pitas today. Very yummy and only 60 cals! Had one with some (almost dry) stirfry of chicken breast, onions and peppers.. Yummy!

Yes! I am still here! I'm not 'official' anymore, so that's why I am a bit lax on posting. Also, hubby and I just put in an offer on a house and we'll be moving all the way from California to New Yawk! Now that's a drive. Also have been dealing with a sick cat, giving subQ fluids, etc. But I've kept up on workouts and diet - that's one area I'm anal retentive about.
I'm now in stage III - anyone else? Seems stage III workout B is a bit short for me, probably because I usually split the intervals off to a different day. I may throw in a full body bodyweight workout today just to feel 'complete'.
My new house LOOKS like it may have room for 'real' equipment, not the 'eh' substitutes I have now.

A coast-to-coast move! How exciting! I was a habitual mover for most of my life and always loved the adventure of it!

Just checking in to say I am still here! Haven't been following NROLW for the last couple of weeks because I had to move alllll the way from California to New York! I gave away all my weights except my powerblocks and my bands (who wants to move a barbell?) so I am without anything except 45# powerblocks, bands and my step/weight bench. I've been doing my old standby, p90x as a fill-in. During the long van move, my diet was 'so so' - there's only so much you can eat on a 15 hour daily drive but I had my oats and whey each morning and went with protein bars and beef jerky and the occasional cottage cheese while in the car. Nope, not optimal. But at least I didn't have about 15 paydays a day like hubby!
We're buying a new house, so once that's done I can set up a new weight room. I did bodyweight TT in the hotel room but it became pretty hard after about day 4 with the time changes. I think this is the first day I am actually awake!

I'm glad you made it safely! How long before the house deal is done? It's a pain in the butt being in temp lodging!
