I downloaded a trial version of Calorie King this afternoon and entered today's food. As it turns out I'm right on target for calories and macros for a workout day. I'll use the trial for a week and if it doesn't seem too onerous I'll consider buying a membership. It's pretty cheap.

Yesterday's workout: Stage 1A:
Squats, 2x15, 25#
Pushups, 2x15, 60 degree angle
Seated machine row, 2x15, 45# (up 5#)
Step Up, 1st set left leg 11 and right leg 10, 2nd set right leg 12 and left leg 9
Reverse crunch, 2x8
Balance in plank position on swiss ball, 2x5 sec.
Ok, I should explain the step ups. Last time I use an aerobic step with 4 risers that was just about right. Today the bitches in the aerobics class had all the steps so I was forced to use a regular padded bench that was much higher than I'm ready for. So instead of powering through it with bad form and risk injurying myself I did less reps.
I also decided to bag the jackknifes because I spend more time struggling to stay on the ball than doing the movement. Reverse crunches are plenty difficult. However, I am going to practice doing the plank with my shins on the ball to build up my strength. As you can see I'm pretty weak with it.
Food was really good. I hit my calories and macros and was up .5 lb this morning which is normal for after a workout day.

Workout B today. I did it in the home gym.
Deadlift, 2x15, 25#
DB shoulder press, 2x15, 11#
Wide-grip lat pulldown, 2x15, 60#
Lunge, 2x15
Swissball crunch, 2x15, 10#
I did the lunges without using anything for balance which meant I couldn't go down all the way to the ground with the back knee. I did the best I could which is pretty much what I'll be saying after every workout.
Next week I start with 12 reps for two weeks. Food was good. I hit my numbers and feel pretty good.

A mellow Sunday.
I weighed the same at the WW meeting yesterday. I think that's because I haven't been drinking enough water and so have been retaining fluid. So one of my goals this week is to drink enough water.
Tomorrow I start the next level of Stage 1 (12 reps).

Hi Nancy!! Lookin' good in here!! I do pretty well with my water intake unless I'm not home - then it becomes a problem!! Yesterday we were away most of the day, and I KNOW I didn't drink enough.

Yesterday's workout was Workout A.
Squats, 2x12, 30#
Pushups, 2x12, 45 degree angle
Seated rows, 2x12, 45#
Step Ups, 2x12, 3#
Reverse crunch, 2x10
Plank with feet on swissball, 2x10 sec.
I so did not want to workout. I had a hard day at work and had to stay late. Thanks goodness for the home gym. Food was good. I've decided to cut 100 calories a day from maintenance level. I seem to have plateaued (I guess that's why they call it maintenance!) This drop should be small enough to keep my energy up and hopefully kick a small loss.

Good day today. I got 7.5 hours of sleep straight through which is rare for me. So I had lots of energy, also rare for me.
Today's workout was Stage 1, Workout B.
Deadlifts, 2x12, 30#
DB shoulder press, 2x12, 12.5#
Wide-grip lat pulldown, 2x12, 60#
Lunges, 2x12, 3#
Swissball crunch, 2x10, 10#
I swear I'm starting to see contours of muscle under the flab. I can hardly wait to take pictures and measure next week.

I'm not calling yesterday a bad day cuz I'm not going to afix negativity to anything I'm doing.
I had to be up all night Wednesday night for a work project and only got 4 hours sleep. Yesterday's food was hit or miss so I wound up starving by the end of the day. And I ended up hitting a box of chocolate covered Oreos and a green pepper/mushroom pizza.
So I'm up today, no surprise, but today's another day. The plan is to eat right, drink LOTS of water and do my workout tonight.

We all have days like that - the key is to ensure they're isolated occurrences and not the rule. Today will be better if you make it so.

This is the right attitude to have! It's not what you DID, but what you DO NEXT that matters!!

Yeah, I always get pizza with veggies. I rarely eat sausage or pepperoni anymore. There's just too much fat and sodium, even for me.

I've been checking out different tracking software to see if there are any I could live with. After reading all the response in the Food Issues thread I think I need to track more closely. I'm somehow going to have to overcome my aversion to accountability.
I looked at Calorie King which is not bad and pretty cheap. I've also gone back to Physique Transformation which I used several years ago. They've made a lot of improvements to the tool, like dividing the food into discrete meals instead of one long list. I really like the whole grading thing (A, B, C, D, F) but it does tend to make you much more anal because you wind up limiting your food choices to get that higher grade. I think that's what got me so turned off to tracking.
The trial allows you to track for 3 days, then generates a PT plan. I think I may go through the trial and continue looking at other tools before I make a decision.
