So started Berardi, for lack of a decision. First superset (bench, situps) are that. The rest is stuff that needs to be worked on / maintained for my proper mobility in other things.I donno if each day will be the same or not. THere will always be ytwls on the day of bench. Which (bench) I took light because of that very worry, it's been a while since I've benched. It was easy, but not super-duper-oh-it's-a-can-of-soup easy. It can definitely go up next time. Since I was easily at 40 before the overuse made my shoulders practically shut down, and I've babied them ever since, I'm thinking getting back to that isn't gonna be too tough, but maybe a bit slow because of timidity on my part.
Anyway...
I need to find a sub for dips. They're always the first thing to NOT do when there's shoulder issues. I donno if it's gonna be a problem, so I'm gonna reserve judgement till I try a workout (day after tomorrow) but just in case... hmm...
I didn't think much of Wii fit (only tried it once), but I find that DDR is a pretty good workout (as long as my kids aren't laughing at my lack of coordination so much that I quit!)
I'm over ddr. It's been a while since we played. I get that people think it's a good workout, but it's not terribly much all things considered. Besides, I'd rather dance to better music, and dance in a way that's more useful, bigger range of motion, and more of a workout than ddr.
Wii fit is nice. I'm not saying it's a major workout. At times it's challenging, but it's more like activity. It gets ya moving in the same way that going for a walk or cleaning house or doing yardwork gets you moving. Without the inevitable sunburn (damn I'm pale).
You have to play longer than once for a short time to get to the funner stuff. *shrug* It's fun, and it's 30 minutes of not being on my ass in front of the tv. I'll take it. Certainly there's better ways to spend your $90, however.
SPeaking of which, in addition to my normal workout, and the 30ish minutes of wii fit this morning, there was also 30 minutes of wii fit this evening in which I unlocked some new stuff (like SUPER hula hoop... even though I'm not sure what's so super about it).
So that's an hour of not sitting on my ass, a half hour of an actual workout, and a bunch of laundry done today. (ok, that one is only an accomplishment for me. I HATE housework.)
I can has bedtime now.
oh, and calories were about 1800. Over my plan of 1500. Not terrible, however. And with the workout today not so bad I'm worried about it.
It sounds like a good day all the way around. I was thinking about getting a game me and the 8 yr old could play together. We used to play Star Wars Battlefront and had a great time. Besides sports game there doesn't seem to be many multiplayer games any more.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I agree - most, if they have multiplayer at all, are built for internet multiplayer, not for someone sitting on the same couch. And cooperative games there's even less.

It's disappointing Stingo. I refuse to have my son sit on one side of the house and me the other to play games. It seems odd to have some together time and by virtue of the activity have to be apart. Maybe that is part of the popularity of the Wii?

I'm sure the few minutes I tried wasn't enough to see it all... but yeah - $90 is pretty steep when I have lots of workout equipment at home (and my kids would use wii fit for 2 days then move on to something else)
Guitar hero, on the other hand... my fingers and wrist were sore the first few weeks we had that, but now I have stronger fingers

Yeah, a lot more of the games on the Wii are multiplayer.
Wii Sports (bundled, natch)
Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Party
Mario Kart
... there's probably more that I can't think of right now.
Gears of War on the 360 lets you play split screen. There's a few other shooters that are two player on the same console that I hadn't noticed before... flip the box over and look.
Ooh and Lego Star Wars. There's two, and it should be on pretty much any console. Get this game. Freakin' awesome.
Coming out (I assume it's two player) next week is Lego Indiana Jones.

I wouldn't know - I only have the previous generation of consoles (PS2, Xbox and Gamecube). The closest and most often I've come to playing mulitplayer games is taking my laptop down to a friend's house to play World of Warcraft. We'd sit in the same room, but have our own PC's. Interactive, yes, but not quite in the same way as looking at the same screen.

And for some reason they're soooo replayable. At least to me. Not sure why. I think it's just the complete linear story, you go here, go here, whack stuff... no intrigue or crap to figure out... It's not really mindless, but it is ...easy on the mind and attention span. Plus, going back in the harder modes is tres cool... I like kicking butt.

Super Mario Galaxy is multiplayer? I need to ask the boy about this one he plays all the time. I like the split screen. We would tear up SW Battle Front 1 and 2 for hours. The boy is 8 so I have to watch out on the first person shooter. I knew I need to take parental action the first time he started calling for the head shot.
We have a Wii and PS3.

It is multi-player, but not like you might think. The second player can pick up the star pieces, but doesn't really have a character. You can also grab some things... like Mario so you can toss him in the air. :P More importantly, you can hold some of the enemies. Oh and you can fire the star pieces to stun things.
It's actually kinda nice, because you don't /need/ the second player but the game is more fun and a bit easier with one. They can jump in an out whenever they want.
meh.
It was late, I waited to work out, and it was rather meh. I didn't go high at all on my squats, kept it under 100 even, and just sorta did them. Didn't do anything but wii fit as my warmup for 19 min.
Scale says slightly less, which is nice. Bought a new purse and a few other things. It was a nice day, out a bunch, working on werkit, and the workout just waited.
Food, which I'm calculating now, should be good.
I pretty much have everything in place... and now to start cranking it. I'm not going full tilt yet, I still need to know where I stand on dips tomorrow, but I'm to the point where I could do this every day. Because, honestly, all I HAVE to do in a given day is a super set. That's it. More is great, but that super set and a few minutes of wii is all I *have* to do. Which makes it much easier, even if it's 20 to midnight and I still haven't gotten it in.
Yes. Rather nice one... Red and brown. I've been on a red kick lately. Taking the place of my monster green vegas bag, since I don't need to carry as much shit with me when I'm not away at campus all day every day. (read, don't need to make sure I have deodorant with me, heh.)
Kinda tall, taller than wide, vaguely messenger bag-like.
Me lo gusta.
Everything else we bought was clothes for Otto. I didn't really feel like clothes shopping. It was late.
Skipping my workout. Adding it to tomorrow. Did do some wii fit this morning. Been working on werkit all day, and taking some pics on a nice drive out.
So, check out WiiWare... on the wii shopping channel. It seems like they have a couple multi-players there too. And if you don't trust to buy wii points online, you can get them at the game shops.
Did I hear someone say new purse? Was shopping mentioned somewhere? I could have sworn I heard someone say something about a new purse.
I thought it was supposed to be called a handbag and that a purse was something for coins. Can you tell tell me wife worked in fashion for a number of years?

wallet (pocketbook): thing for money and coins
purse: thing for wallet/purse and other things.
at least that's how they roll at coach (i'm pretty sure)
It's like tennis shoes vs. trainers vs. sneakers. Pop vs soda. Some people call them purses, some call them handbags and some pocketbook. When I lived in Philly, you called it a pocketbook. I always said purse. Seems like now it's handbag (cuz it sounds more expensive). I always called a wallet a wallet.
