I considered calling this thread something like "Toxic Waste Dump," after Bacardio's mention of a necessary warning. But, Wet Paint signs are invitation to touch, right? So, this is more like hiding in plain sight.
About ready to begin? No cheating!
Speaking of cheating, I'd like to thank my partner in crime, Julie, for starting the chicks' thread before the guys' thread. For me, that means less thinking and more copy/paste/edit.

4. FUN!!!
That's all well and good, but we're guys. We don't talk like that. If we wanted soft and cuddly, we'd get all ript and jacked so soft and cuddly would come on over... Hey wait... That is the plan, right?
So, with that in mind,...
Purpose:
1. PIctures and forced honestly and self-assessment--We can say we're jacked on the net, right? Until we meet, then all is revealed... I still think most of you bought my "long bought of mono that made me lose 25lbs of lean mass" story before we met at the '06 Summit. ahem. But, I digress. We'll have to assume the pics we post are honest (Bill!). And, since the Day 1 pics are going to be honestly ugly, we can only strive to better ourselves. Cuz who wants to be more ugly?
2. Less fat, more muscle or just less fat or just more muscle. Ript abz. 10pack. Whatever. We want to look better.
3. Peer pressure and ridicule for when someone's being a ______!
4. Fun. ...or, more like less lonesome agony. Dieting is not pleasant. Several of us have been doing it for years. The longer we do it, the less progress we tend to see on a day by day basis. Having others equally miserable helps.

2. You MUST post your beginning stats and photos sometime between now and January 7th. If you don't want to post your pictures, then this challenge isn't for you. If I'm the only one challenging, well, so be it. I need the accountability. I will NOT be this fat in 3 months.
3. You are encouraged to keep a log in the training log forum. That way when you complain that you aren't making progress, we can look and see what you might/might not be doing that is contributing.
4. The challenge will run for 3 months ... you will be required to post progress photos by the first of each month and by contest end of April 1st. Winner will be decided by poll.
Whoa! Someone needs to chill. What is she, a gemini? Yikes!
Rules:
1. Six months of making yourself better, whatever that means to you. Time is up on July 6th, cuz on the 7th, we start voting. Actually, if you want to win, better make yourself look better to the voters. Screw what you want.
1. You can do any plan ... even NROL4W ... you can change plans mid-stream ... you can have no plan, if you so desire. However, a plan is encouraged, and sharing (come on guys, we can learn to share, can't we?) might help the rest of us help you when you get into a bind, stall, plateau, etc.
2. You MUST get your money to gobbla to start. That's $20! The little "$" is the symbol for American dollars. None of that toilet paper you might call money. Although, ironically, he's in Germany... Go Air Force!
3. Stats and photos should be posted on and around January 7th. If you don't want to post pics, still send gobbla the $20, but consider it a donation to the rest of us.
3. You are encouraged to keep a log in the training log forum. That way when you complain that you aren't making progress, we can look and see what you might/might not be doing that is contributing. (Julie wrote this! I like this one. No edits.)
4. The challenge will run for 6 months ... you will be required to post progress photos by the first of each month and by contest end of July 6th. Winner will be decided by poll. (Sweet. Jules wrote this, too. I just manned up the timeframe.)
Wait... MONTHLY pics? There won't be any element of surprise in July!

If we don't do monthly I don't think it would be that competitive drive in the competition. I think the monthly pics will help us refocus if we loose sight of the July 7th final vote!

It's a brave man who goes first. I have to get the pictures from the camera, into the computer and lastly, here. If nothing else I'll learn how to do that.

Go to Photobucket.com and create an account ... upload your photos ... the use the little photo icon (looks like a sun over a mountain) to insert the photo (it will ask for the link to the picture on photobucket). Voila ... photos in the post!!

I thought about the shoe, but wanted to put something that'd keep the "time-line" out of scrutiny. There was what...12 people that signed up. Two people manned up so far. Not calling you guys scared little girls or anything...it looks that way...but I'm not going to say it. Easy money. Hell, me and Bac can just split it and call it a good day

Not so fast split'in the cash Gobbla!
Sorry folks. I haven't had the camera. I'll be posting my stats and pix tonight.
Tho, I'll need some better instruction on how to post. I have my photbucket account. But I don't see where to look for the "sun over the mountain" as UConnJulie described it.
This is awsome, I was planning on trying to beat my last year's stats anyway and now I can also take all ya'll's cash in the process (just getting the smack talk started).
Just a couple of questions:
1) Are we going based just on finnished pics or will overall stats (BF gain/loss, inches gain/loss) be factored into the voting?
2) Are there any specific parameters for the final pics as far as shaving, tanning, oil, etc. or is it up to each individual?
3) I was originally planning to peak in early June so if I do would I still be able to submit those as my final pics?
I don't mean to get too specific, but I figure it's better to pose the ?'s now than to squable over them in the end... when I'm takin' yo paper (more smack talk)

1) Whatever shows me in the best light.
2) 'You' can use all the shavers, oils, creams, lotions, potions, rubs, scrubs and polishers you need. I shall be posting in my running shorts sans suppliments
3) I think the we should all post our pics as the agreed time time. Otherwise some people may do 3 months, do a picture and then let it slide for 3 months. It's a 6 month challenge

Well the whole plan for me is to get ripped for the summer so I don't plan on sliding that much, it just happens that the program that I am planning to do is about 5 months. I don't really see how having less time would be in any way a benefit, but I will concede to the overall vote on this one.
*2 cents*
-I figure the pics will hold the most weight, stats would *probably* be more of a tie breaker. But they're there, so the people voting might feel differently.
-There's no reason that you couldn't go all out. Most aren't going into a bodybuilding competition (if I guess correctly) so all of that might not be common or in the spirit of the competition (everyday fatties trying to stay on the wagon for an extended period of time), BUT if you *wanted* to then that's your business. Up to the individual.
-Agreed w\ Neil on the time line. We agree to play for 6mo. The accountability\consistency is more important than the results. *edit* 5mo wouldn't be a benefit, but an extra month isn't (shouldn't be) a hindrance either.
I'll man up this weekend....no smack talk...just a silent ass kicking...just converted our basement kids play room into the gym and Wii centre. I'll be using Alwyn's complex program (properly this time)...with that said I need to kick ass or he'll kick mine.

13 always was my lucky number. It was my uniform number in baseball.
Pics up this weekend. Don't expect me to be using any tanning oil either now or later. I'm straight up freckley and plan to stay that way.

Since we're going to be posting pics every month, can we agree on a max width (of the pics, not of us)? I have a laptop screen, and 800 pixel wide pics make me have to scroll back and forth all the time. Plus, once the page is set to that width to make room for the pics, all the text rolls off the right edge of the screen.
I use a 1024 wide screen. 800 pixels is too wide for my screen. However, if I'm the only one, then I can deal with it.
