Here is a quote from Vern Gambetta.....I hope this does not happen "Boys will gladly demonstrate proficiency but will often quit before having to reveal deficiency. Girls often fear success if it places them apart from others."
Lets not let that happen.....my cheerleading session is over.......

Good quote there. So as one would expect, success is the elimination of deficiency.

Ok guys! I hope Day 1 was good for everyone.
Feel free to post whatever you like in here. As long as you're not all a bunch of boring crap.
If you haven't already, create your own log thread. Don't post your workouts and eating journals in here, though. Milestones, PRs, feats of bravery, etc. are all fair game, though.
Also, I suggest that you put a link to your log in your signature, too. Need help, just say so.
Here's the code, using this thread as the example, to get the link to jump to the newest post, too.
PHP Code:
[url="http://forums.jpfitness.com/training-log/29064-official-mens-challenge-thread-new-post.html"]The Mens Challenge Thread[/url]
If you use something similar to this, but with your log's url, you'll be soooo cool. Notice the "-new-post" part of the string, just before the ".html" That's important. If someone has the patience to type up the detailed instructions, go for it. If enough people need or want the help, I'll try to do it in the next couple of days.
That's the workout log stuff... Back to this thread.
If you hit a milestone, have an issue you need help with, etc., post it here, not just in your log. There's like 20+ of us. We can't always read each and every log each and every day, but most of us should be able to keep up with this thread. And, if you post a question or problem, the link in your sig makes it that much easier to get right to you if we want to get more information or mock you in more detail, okay?
One day down. Lots of days to go. I had a good first day. I was challenged by my foreign relatives visiting and taking me out to an all your can eat Chinese Buffet.
I did well, surprisingly. I ate a lot of boiled shrimp, steamed crab, sashimi, and vegetables. A TNT dieter's dream, assuming you skipped to desserts, which I did. My one transgression? I had three small pieces of sushi, and only that because my German Aunt was afraid to start eating it until someone else did. So I did. It was hard to stop at three. Sushi is wonderful, but I love sashimi, as well. Plus, I can eat pickled ginger like it's going out of style.
Have a good one, everyone!
Roland

For me, this challenge is already working wonders; just what I hoped it would be.
This morning, the alarm went off at 5 AM. God, I was sleepy. I really wanted to just shut it off and go back to sleep. I laid there for 10 minutes, fighting a mental battle. Sleep? Workout? Sleep! Workout!! Well, i got up, went to my gym and did a lower body split that left my legs so weak and trembling I wondered if I would even be able to shower.
Life is GOOD!

I'm already down 5lbs since Jan 1 by dropping processed grains and Dr Pepper (gawd I miss my Dr Pepper!). Only meat, fish, fresh veggies and fruits, dairy, nuts, peanut butter, and a PWO shake. Not really trying to lose a bunch of weight, but I knew going into this I'd have a drop in weight right off the bat. Keeping my protein and good fats high should limit my weight loss to mostly fat. Feeling strong and sleeping better already.
You guys don't stand a snowballs chance!

Can someone join at a disadvantage? (one day that everyone else had that they didn't )
If so, I would be absolutely happy to take everyone's money....
Let me know so I can post some pics tommora! (provided of course, latecomers are accepted)

Do you mean in general or on a per capita basis?
