Misson accomplished. Lisa and Lou have a generator thanks to Bob, they've had a hot shower, gotten their laundry done, and I fed them and sent them on their way back to Galveston.

Yeah... I'm betting your friends from Galveston didn't find much of the past few weeks "fun" either.

My god it's a workout people. and a functional one at that.
1.5 hours of lifting branches and other pieces of wood into various piles around Bob's property. It's so much fun, I'm going back to do it again tomorrow.
Honestly I have a method to my madness. I'm hoping it wears me out enough that I sleep better this week, so that I don't have to take any Tylenol PM to help stay asleep through the night (I've had a rough time sleeping this last week but I feel normal now that I've got my diet back on track).
Phase 2 of my recovery starts this week. This week I'm going to add physical activity into the mix. Honestly, if I wouldn't have been so tired last week, I would have added it back in to help deal with the stress, but I also know that I was too tired and would have done myself more harm than good, so I kept things at a pretty even keel and worked on listening to my body.
Time to shower and then I think, I need to go and do some sorting so I reach my goal of 1 bag junk out per trash day.

That was nothing. There is sooo much stuff that we need to do at Bob's place. His plan is to get all the downed stuff picked up, then mow so we don't have to trudge through the tallish grass, and then we get to start cutting/pulling deadwood out of the trees.

Thanks Karen.
I'm definitely feeling the effects of last night's work out in my shoulders. Plan is to go back over to Bob's tonight after work and do some more. If we can get the first round of treelimbs taken care of tonight. He can mow and we can start the next round. The goal is to get all this done before the county gets everything picked up.

There is something uniquely satisfying about clearing brush, limbs, etc. Don't know what it is.
Maybe that's why it's the activity-of-choice for so many Presidents!

Well it doesn't look like I'm going to be doing treelimbs tonight. Lets just say my intestinal tract is not happy with me at the moment.

Thanks. I'm going to work from home tomorrow - my tummy is still not real happy with me. I can kill three birds with one stone if I do that. I can run the dishwasher, do laundry, and write in peace.
Since lumberjacking was not in the cards for today, I spent the evening whipping the dining room into shape. I got the table top down to the point that I could wipe it down and neatly stack stuff up, and then I picked up the floor. *sigh* this is not pretty folks. But I will be able to vacuum the dining area tomorrow and then it's on to the office and weight area. The biggest problem with the weight area is that my dirty laundry for the past few weeks is piled there since I decided to clean the bedroom before I came back home). But at least I am keeping the promise I made to myself to get everything in order and keep it that way.

Tummy has calmed down...... a little iffy this morning, but seems to be better this afternoon.
All the coin slots on the washing machines in my part of the complex are jammed. I called the company that manages them and decided I'll take everything to the washeteria. Oh well at least it solves the problem of getting weight area cleaned up.

Paula, did you have windows blow out in your apartment? I can't imagine how long it must take stuff to dry out in the humidity ... boy, I wouldn't wish a hurricane on anyone ...
HUGS!

no I was very lucky in that regard (hmmm that reminds me, I need to get with bob so we can cut some plywood for my bay facing window.) Honestly Julie, we've been really blessed in terms of the humidity although I've seen pictures of apartments that didn't dry out and are now getting moldy. But the reality is that in most cases, especially in my neck of the woods, anything that is touched by water is destroyed. I was shocked on Saturday when Lisa and I went down to the park. There were piles and piles and piles of drywall, carpeting, appliances, furnishings, etc all along the road.
Laundry is done and folded. I will put it away tomorrow evening when I get home. Grocery shopping is complete. Now I just have to put everything away. I've got menus pretty well planned out through Friday night.

I'm glad to hear you are making progress digging out of the mess. That sort of work definitely counts as physical activity!
