Julie:

Not likely. The Waters in the Gulf are really warm right now (right around 90 degrees). There's plenty of energy for this storm.

Thanks.... tomorrow is when it's supposed to roll in. Today I'm just getting all the stuff off my desk (they like us to have things cleaned up and the doors shut to stop stuff from flying about.

Stay safe Paula!

(and print out the hot guy pics before you lose electricity, so you have something to look at and keep your spirits up!)

That really looks nasty. Be safe and have enough light (can't recommend Petzl enough!) and reading material.

At this point, they're saying nothing more than a Strong Tropical Storm or Maybe a weak Cat. 1 Hurricane. At this point, it's not very well organized and they don't think its going to to stall on the Gulf. I can say that it's very quiet in the office today.

I had "the meeting" with my mom six years ago, setting boundaries and telling her that I no longer wanted nor needed to hear all her secrets. My dad was in the room at the time and I've never seen him so angry. My brother was pissed too. But I couldn't be the sounding board any longer.

A year or two later she was in counseling and her therapist told her that I'd done the right thing, and that she needed to respect the mom/son relationship and understand its boundaries.

Things are much better now.

I am going to save the meeting for the trip home I think. I've suggested counseling numerous occassions for Mom due to the toll the diabetes has taken on her health and some of the other issues, but she's not going to do it.

Part one of Functional Workout has occurred. I stripped the bed and have lugged 4 loads of laundry to the laundromat. It's hotter than blue blazes out there right now. Next up is clothes folding and haul stuff in from the porch. BLEAH.

I will be. I'm thinking about going over to Bob's tonight after I get everything together here.

I figured now is as good a time as any to clean out the fridge of the old food. That way I have a minimal amount in there if the power goes out.

Good idea. We've got a half gallon of vanilla ice cream in there that I'd hate to go to waste . . .

Remember Wolfman Jack's solution in American Graffiti?

Then again, Mrs. LJ says let it go to waste. Not waist. Dang it.

It's been nice working out of the home. It's been a very pleasant day I have to say.
