Beautiful pup!! We had a German Shep x Anatolian Shep cross a while back. Goofiest, dumbest dog ever but incredibly sweet.

My GAWD the clarity of those pics is unbelievable. I take it that camera is not a standard point-n-shoot!

THe Bird pix were taken with my Sony DSC-3 which is a 7.2 megeapixel camera which is a point and shoot.
THe armadillo and stink bug pictures were taken with the Nikon D80 which is by far the best camera I've ever owned.

tis okay.....I didn't even notice.

Made it safely to Macon. Went and checked out the fitness facilities here in the hotel. They actually have a good selection of DBs here plus a bench and the usual cardio equipment. Ran to Publix and picked up some fruit. I think I might go do a quickie workout and then shower and chill.

Is grilled armadillo considered "lean protein"?

What about the dog pix? Those are amazing at that speed to just stop the action like that. I would totally blur the pics with my point and shoot.

Paula - if you don't know it already, I think you would really enjoy visiting (and possibly posting on) Nature Photographers site.

thanks for the links to that site. I'll definitely have to check it out this weekend when I have a bit more time.

Karla:

Most point and shoots do have a manual control option on the camera. You have to up the ISO Speed to get the stop action shots.

I think the next time I am over at Bob's Mom's, I'll see if I can get the same effect on my Sony that I got on the Nikon just to see if I can do it.

Morning all. Weigh in this morning. I'm down almost 2 lbs. Which means my overall goal of being more active is paying off. I'm going to work out here in a little bit.

Not much planned for today. I trimmed as much fat as I could off a brisket last night and then put it in the crock pot. I'm going to make the sauce for it a bit and then let it soak in over the course of the day. It ought to be nice and tender by the end of the day.

Summer has arrived on the Texas Gulf. Hot and Humid!

Thanks for that. I can't believe that was done with a point and shoot. AWESOME. You have great skill with the camera.

It's in the right direction at least.

Tonights dinner was spare ribs that Bob's mom cooked and then the brisket that I made (Bob forgot to tell his mom we were cooking the meat). We also had green beans, potatoes, tomatos and cucumbers fresh from her garden. I got more tomatoes, a cucumber, and onions from her garden to take home and some farm fresh eggs (not a whole lot tho since I am traveling again this week).
