Thanks Tracey. Work's been killing me too. And it's not going to get better. Summer time is the busy season in the Natural Gas industry - I feel like I'm moving full steam ahead with no brakes at my job now and it definitely wasn't that way a few months ago.
Sharepoint training at work today. Need to make gingersnaps for my brother so he has something to eat during his 30 hours of travel to Iraq. I'll lift while the dough is chilling this evening
Travel over to San Antonio tomorrow for my brother's USAF Graduation. We'll be there until late. Come home
Saturday is get ready for Washington.
Sunday I travel
Yesterday was a really long day. Bob and I were up at 6 to head towards Camp Bullis over in San Antonio where my Brother was graduating. We got on the road right around 7:30. Got to Bullis straight up at 12 once we figured out which gate we were supposed to be at.
After taking a really bumpy and dusty bus ride up to where Charlie was at, we got to spend about and hour visiting before the ceremony. Charlie took us around and showed us the facilities. The Ceremony was great and very moving. I was really glad that I could be there. We talked for another half hour afterwards and then Bob and I went back to the car, while Charlie got his stuff ready to go to Lackland.
I can unequivacably said I couldn't stand to live in San Antonio. They've got some stupid traffic laws and the drivers there are stupid. Bob and I stopped to grab a bite and get something to drink and then headed over to Lackland AFB. We had some time to kill before Charlie got over there so we walked around and looked at the airplanes they had on display.
Chuck got over to base around 5:45 and we managed to get lost looking for his billeting. Headed over to the BX to get something for dinner. They don't let them go off base after they've completed their training any more - evidently someone got stupid a couple spirals ago and so no drinking and no going off base before leaving the country. I kind of agreed with my brother when he said if they are going to do something stupid in country, what makes them think that they are going to be any smarter out of country????
We had a really good visit and Bob has officially met the first member of my family. My brother is too funny tho, he talked about the new reflective t-shirts the USAF has for PT. He says that if they are doing PT in the evening, they look like a bunch of dancing AF logos. We left San Antonio around 9 and got back to Bob's at just after 1. A very long and tiring day but well worth the trip.
Some pictures from Yesterday
The Reflective PT shirt.... I can see why they look like dancing AF Logos in the twilight.
The most interesting Tan Line I've seen in a while. (this is what happens to us German heritage folks when you expose us to too much sun. Both Chuck and I had a nice burn going).
Chuck sporting the latest in reflective gear.
Me and my Brother
How they finished up the ceremony. My brother is in the front row second in from the left. I need to tell him he's dropping his hips too much during his pushups.
All around the camp there are different rocks that each of the spirals have painted. This is the rock from his group.
When I was in boot camp, they let us have one night out at the very end of our training. We did some incredibly stupid things and wish they'd kept us in instead of what I did. LMAO
Diane: Chuck was in Convoy Control training (I think that's what it's called). He has been doing transportation stuff since early in his AF career. He's a Master Sargent now I'm very proud of him.
