I wasn't feeling 115 or 125 last time I did Deads.... but this time ... no problem I think getting my diet straightened out is helping a lot. I can't wait for next DL day.... I can get the big girl plates on the bar and start cranking up because the reps drop to 8. 4 more workouts in stage 1.

Killler!!!!

First set I used a 12 lb db. Second and third sets I used a 12 lb medicine ball. It made a huge difference in these. I think I like the medicine ball better.
I love that trick. Really ramps up the intensity.

Yeah it does

but they don't have anything bigger than a 12 lbs medicine ball at gym. SO I think the next time, I'll hold the db by the ends

Weighed this morning. I'm down 3.2 lbs from 267 to 263.8. The scale is moving in the right direction and I think that means the change in diet was a good one. Pictures will happen sometime this afternoon.

Good weekend so far. Bob and I went and climbed all over the Battleship Texas and then we went out for Indian Food last night.

I'm planning on lifting later today as well.

their CC machine was down so I decided to hold off. Maybe that will be one of my treats for myself as I reach one of my goals. I'm trying to stay away from food related goals.

I've also decided that if there's still space, I'm going to participate in the Dragon Boat Races at the the beginning of May through work. My strength training should be beneficial to that!

What kind of races are those? (I realize BOAT races, but sailboat or what?)

Anyway, it's nice to see you're feeling better and making progress !

Paula, you ROCK!!! Have fun in Reston (my bff lives there; I'm so envious of your trip!). I'm glad you've gotten the diet worked out, and you're getting to have fun with Bob again (that was some sad and stressful time to get through), and "things" (muscle, fat, whathaveyou) are moving in the right direction.

Here's to finishing stage 1...

I"ve actually seen these folks practicing at the lake near my house. I just didn't realize it. It looks like a blast though
