I know, tracey, isn't it simply the best???? did you try it mixed with yogurt and pecans, yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
karen, I am so incredibly jealous! grass fed beef is the bestest. I have property and could raise them, but then I would be attached. getting them from a FIL would be optimal, since I wouldn't "know" them. but my FIL lives on the island of palm beach, lol. no cattle there.....
thanks ginger
paula I will do meatballs for you if you make brownie batter for me!!! love your avi....

Haven't tried it with pecans yet, but I may have to - that sounds YUMMMMY!!!
We've been buying more and more grass-fed beef lately - there is SUCH a difference from the "regular grocery store stuff"

Yep, it takes most of an upright freezer. But, it was a heck of a workout carrying it all in from the car yesterday .
Wendy, I can't imagine cattle on Palm Beach, LOL. FIL has about 150 cow/calf pairs, so it's really hard to get attached to them. But, we know where our meat comes from so that's a bonus.

how fun! 150 cattle. our property couldn't handle that, only 8 acres! have thought about some of those miniature milk cows though. someday when I work less.

This is a tiny bit late but CONGRATS on the 10 min mile for 6 miles run. Have you thought of doing a 10k yet? I am considering doing one as I am close to that myself and figure that is respectable enough to do a race.
Another farm girl. That make dianne you and me at least who are in the acreage thing. I could never kill a cow I rasied either. It would live forever on my farm I'm afraid.

I'm with you guys on the beef! We have a steer that's ready for butchering right now -- just need the money fairy to appear so we can pay for the butcher. (We kill & butcher our hogs, chickens, goats, deer, etc ourselves but cattle is more than we want to handle.) (Oh, and the steer is not on our land. Hubby got paid with it for building something for a local church.) Oh, man, I can't wait for fresh, grass-fed beef! All meat is better fresh and home-raised if ya ask me.
When we picked up the goats and sheep recently, the kids were all cooing over the cute and fuzzy critters, petting them, naming them, and then turned around and asked, "Can we eat them tonight, pleeeeeeeze?!"

My kids name the calves that they have to take care of for whatever reason, too, but then they're quite happy to eat them later . I think they don't get attached because there are too many animals to get attached to them. We only have 5 acres with horses and a dog, but FIL and MIL live close by with a lot more acreage, so the kids get their "farm" experience there.
Our friends had a milk cow for a couple of years and she was a lot of work, but they loved it.

Have you tried foam rolling that bad boy? It hurts like hell but it will stretch it and utimately help you.
