oh, I ran 5 miles easy today along the ocean. very beautiful. and very windy. felt great!! I was running north straight into a very gusty wind, and I can tell you I feel stronger. there is no doubt that lifting heavy is improving my running.

Hey, something good is going on there. You can't always believe the scale. They lie.

I ate Chinese on Wednesday and have been two pounds heavier ever since. What I don't understand is that all the Chinese workers at the restaurant look like they weigh less than 100 lbs. Where are they eating?

they were eating piranha last time my family was in the restaurant, really! you could see the teeth--baked whole.

thanks paula! my arms and shoulders measured bigger, and the scale weight is the same, so that pic demonstrates where the fat loss came from. who knew?

yeah, tom, you were right when I posted my new avi, my face is smaller. not that I want to lose weight in my face!

yeah, unfortunately spell check isn't a part of the boards here--I type fast and often make spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes. no one in my family has ever been to college except me, and most didn't get beyond junior high, so spelling and grammar in my family definitely wasn't a high priority, lol. made for an interesting freshman year at Duke. jethrette meets high society. my room-mate was a debutante from newport rhode island. she couldn't fathom my tiny dolphin shorts that rode up my ass, tank tops and long unruly 80's hair with mall bangs and a can of aquanet. oh, and big makeup to go with big hair. I tried the preppy look for a while and decided it was too androgynous, and I returned to a style that was somewhere between the two for a while. and my public school education in the hood certainly didn't compare to the prep school educations of my peers, but somehow I muddled through and graduated with honors anyway and then did medical school. my specialty is psychiatry, so I don't place STENTS so much in my practice, lol.

I'm told that the face is generally the first place you see weight loss, so I'm not surprised by your progress pics. And, see, if you'd thought to film your college days you could've had the first reality show on TV, ever...

the coolest thing just happened! ed called me to come down to our beach--there were two pilot whales frolicking! so beautiful! tried to get pics, but they were too far from us for the camera to capture. got some cool pics of our creek since I was nearby anyway:

wow, so the whales that we saw today are on the news. apparently they are rare right whales, only 400 or so on the planet. unreal. right here at home in the wild.

MM = Magnificent Mobility - a DVD of well... dynamic stretching/mobility exercises for the lower body. Pricey, but worth the money. There's also Inside/Out (IO) which covers the upper body. There's a link around somewhere offering the two together at a discount (but warning, it still ain't cheap).

I wish this mysterious link would present itself. I've been searching for it off and on for weeks now. I thought I'd found it and bookmarked it late one night but, the next morning, it was not in my bookmarks. I must have dreamed it. Doh!

Found the link on an old Mike Robertson newsletter, about a quarter of the way down the page (for the monster mobility pack).
