"New Year" Challenge
Looking for brilliant (or at least "good") ideas for a new group log for a new year.
I'm thinking of maybe an 8 week challenge that consists of:
1. Setting a measurable goal
2. forming a plan to reach it
3. reaching it
pretty strait forward yeah? Anyone have any thoughts?

Maybe if people start throwing out their goals, we can find a common theme to run with.
The last one was good, but although many of us were "compliant," nothing really happened. Like all the best bureaucracies, you can be 100% spot on and get nothing accomplished... So, I like your idea of setting a measurable goal and reaching it.

Great idea, Tony. I think the long-awaited NROL4W will be a big draw for a lot of the gals here. There's been lots of talk about some sort of challenge or competition. Any way to fold whatever challenge we devise for it into this? Or would that complicate things? Just a thought.....

My goal every January is to get my eating plan back on track.

It doesn't matter how fast you are moving if you don't know where you're going.

I'd guess that most of us will want to really get back on track after a few too many holiday treats, right?

What do you say? A "I don't wanna be a fatty" competition\support group?

I'm not planning to start cutting until at least the end of January. Until then it's time to put on the lbs.

I'm still down from before the holidays, so that's good. 185 this morning, with a party or two in the next few days. Jan 1st is a good day to start my more serious leaning out period.
I don't know if there's a good way to actually have a contest or not. Men and women lose at different rates. Leaner people go more slowly, it seems.
I've been reading a lot of the common sense fat loss posts recently (Alan, Coach Hale, Leigh, Adam, etc.). Eat less and exercise more and you'll lose weight/fat. I've seen it happen again over the past month for me, so that, in a nutshell, will be the plan for me.
Seems I got caught up in the wish that I could eat more and exercise more and also lose fat. It worked for a while, then stopped. Oh, well. Time to get back to basics and stay there.

Legs that rock
My legs are my weakest link. I'd love to work on losing some junk in the trunk too.

I really slipped this year trying some distance running mixed in with the lifting and the losing weight goal sort of got side lined. Also a new personal relationship threw in some pleasant but not goal oriented twists. So I too will be going back to the basics of clean eating, consistent workouts and HIIT sessions. It will also be helpful that my girlfriend is moving her health and weight loss near the top of her priority list.

My goal will be to loose body fat but also to become stronger. So I will likely come up with some strength goal around the body shaping one.
