What Am I Thinking....CrossFit Again
12/13/07
218.5 lbs
2/3 Linda or "Two Bars of Death"
Dead lift 225 lbs
Bench Press 165 lbs
10 Rounds 10/9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1
Time 25:55
I'm drawn to Cross Fit like a moth to a flame. I did it for about nine months ending in July 2006 on my 50th birthday. Since then I've done conventional weight training, but always find myself sneaking a look at the Cross Fit WOD and wondering if I could do it. I've been a closet Cross Fitter for about three weeks now and found that while regular lifting has made me stronger, nothing prepares you for these workouts.
I have two goals for the next seven months. The first is purely selfish, to look good from the neck down, for a trip to the Dominican Republic I won in April and secondly to complete this workout
Linda
(aka "3 bars of death") - Dead lift 1 1/2 BW
- Bench BW
- Clean 3/4 BW
10/9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 rep
rounds for time
in 52 minutes by my 52nd birthday in July. I tried this last year and just didn't have the strength to do it. This year I'll get my weight down to 200 lbs and do it....or die trying.

Kinda had to find good weight ranges here. I started out too light on the shoulder press, 5 or 10 lbs more is probably possible. Push press felt about right. I had to drop down on the push jerks because my form seemed pretty terrible. The last set felt pretty good except that I had to concentrate on keeping the plates of the bar between the ceiling joists....the one bad thing about working out in the basement.

Didn't weigh- 2 Christmas Parties Yesterday
400 meter Walking lunge
Post time and number of steps to comments.
Time 21:39 430 steps
Central Pa is covered in ice today, so why not drive around the fallen trees to the local middle school track, covered in 1/2" of slush and do lunges? This sounds pretty easy, but OMFG was it hard. I almost couldn't make it up the short hill to my truck when I finished. Now, about an hour later, I almost need assistance to navigate the stairs in my house. I may need medication tomorrow.

Walking lunges are evil. They're right up there with Bulgarian split squats if you ask me.
That is an amazing level of dedication to get out in those conditions and do them outside.

Not really, my wife is in the final stages of Christmas decorating.....I'd rather slog around the track in cold, wet feet than deck the halls any more.

Hey another crossfiter!
I didn't do the lunges yesterday. It was all snowy and we were just hanging out as a family so by the time I even thought about it, it was way too late. Oh well.
