Friday 02/22/08
216 lbs

Lynne"
Five rounds for max reps of:
Body weight bench press
Pull-ups

Pretended I weighed 185 lbs tonight.
Bench Press 7/5/5/5/3
PUll-ups 8/6/7/7/4

Probably should have rested a little longer before that last set.

Saturday 02/23/08
216 lbs

Rest day

Worked this morning but made up for it with two naps this afternoon. Went to the new Longhorn Steakhouse tonight. Had a 22 oz steak and two 24 oz Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beers. The cherry smell was a little wierd, but............I downed them anyway. Bring it on tomorrow.

Impressive CF log here. Nice work on 'Cindy'! I just did this one a few days ago and got 13 rounds. Exhausting.

How long have you been doing CF?

Sunday 02/24/08
216.5 lbs

Eva"
Five rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
2 pood Kettlebell swing, 30 reps
30 Pull-ups

3 Rounds 52:20

Five rounds....right. I had every intention of doing the five rounds but my forearms got so damn sore that I was losing my grip on the 70 lb dumbbell I was using for the swings. The last 30 pull-ups were mostly 2's and 3's, so 60 more would have taken just forever. It hurts to type, I'm done.

Thanks, I like "Cindy". My pull-ups are coming along, so I'm thinking I can get another round or two in next time. I did Cross Fit for 9 months about a year and a half ago. The goal then was a 50 minute "Murph" for my 50th birthday. I think I finished at about 53:00, walking the second mile. That was in July '06. Between then and November '07 I did more traditional workouts. Now I'm back at Cross Fit for almost five months. I'm trying to put in some "Linda" specific work like deads and bench press now. We'll see what happens this summer.

My forearms are so sore from those damn dumbbell swings that it hurts to write and type today. I'm not sure what I going to do tonight.

Glad the sore forearms didn't impact your pushing and jerking. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Great improvements with the workout, Bill. So do you have a 10 ft ceiling in your basement or did you cut a hole in the ceiling for clearance?

I have to aim for the spots between the ceiling joists and use a bunch of smaller plates. Missing one makes a hell of a noise and just ruins my rhythm, what little I have.

Basketball- 1:30 full court. Not much to report. Still hatin' the big red haired guy. Haven't seen 215 lbs since last summer so I'm smiling all day.

Thursday 02/28/08
215 lbs

7 rounds for time of:
95 pound Sumo-deadlift high-pull, 10 reps
10 Ring dips - Subbed Regular Dips

Time 9:53

I watched the video of this workout on Crossfit.com and really expected the worst. The two studs were breaking down the rows into minisets on their last few rounds. Beast that I am, I was able to finish all of them unbroken. I wish I could say the same for the dips, most were broken into 6/4 reps after the third round. I know that regular dips are easier than ring dips, but still very happy with the time.
