Congrats on that nice PR - great when it comes in a big lift like the deadlift.

Thanks everyone. I still kinda charged up about finally hitting 300 lbs. This is the goal weight for doing "Linda" this summer. Now all I have to do is work on getting 54 more reps.

Wednesday 02/13/08

Randy"
75 pound Power snatch, 75 reps for time.

Subbed Hang Clean and Press 'cause I never took the time to learn Snatches

Time 9:05

A pretty easy night tonight. Probably should have done more, but got a late start after shoveling snow and chopping ice. A confession, tonight I ate the chocolate Christmas Reindeer that has been sitting in the candy jar for almost two months. Why? I watched a Hershey's commercial and something just snapped in my head. I resisted eating that damn thing for 40 days and 40 nights. Shoulda threw it away when we took the tree down.

Finally, 300lbs. I've been trying to get here for two years. When I first got back into lifting, 3 1/2 years ago, I was deadlifting 95 lbs for 10 reps, and dying. Today, after yesterday's 85 reps of 185 lbs these went up pretty easy. I may just go have an ice cold Lager in celebration.
I care. I care.
DAMN! Nice job on hitting 300, Bill. And that Deck o' Cards is brutal. I have got to try that.

Congrats, my friend.

Thanks John. The "who cares-who cares" refers to the last two singles that I didn't do.

I'm thinking my teammates are going to the Deck of Cards workout tomorrow night... since I am not allowed to join them, sounds like perfect timing!

I'm not real good at the snatch either. I pull pretty deliberately out of the deadlift, then essentially do a hanging power clean/press from there.

I think that was the point of the commercial. Somewhere a hershey's exec is laughing. Evil laughing.

Thursday 02/14/08

"Fran"
Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
95 pound Thruster
Pull-ups

Time 13:00

Extra Work

50 Decline Sit-ups
15:00 Stationary Bike

Last done on 11/17/07 in 15:00 with 35 lb dumbbells. While 13:00 wouldn't get a second look among real CrossFitters it's a 2 minute and 25 lb improvement. As always pull-ups are what slows me down. I am improving, but there were a lot of 2s and 3s in there.

Looks good to me. That's pretty darn heavy for a thruster!

Saturday 02/16/08

Afternoon

Sledge Hammer 100 Swings left/right......who knew my wife was taking a nap? Grip is a big issue here. Forearms get fried.

Evening

Deck of Cards

Push-ups/Pull-ups/Sit-ups/Squats BW
Total 85 reps each
Time 31:44

85 Pull-ups is a challenge. Realistically the other exercises are pretty easy, unless you hit a couple 10s in a row. Next time I'm thinking of weighting the exercises, Pull-supsX1, Push-upsX2, Squats and Sit-upsX3. Sit, burned some calories on a Saturday night.

Since you are not that far from Hershey, you could drive over and put a rock through their window, or buy another chocolate reindeer.
