good work. I wish they would open a crossfit here. do you guys just get the WOD from the website and do it, or do you have a specific gym?

80% of the time I do the website WOD. If it's something that I just can't do at home I'll sub in some "Linda" specific work such as deadlifts, cleans or bench press. You certainly don't need a CrossFit specific gym to do most of the workouts. You should get some training in the Olympic lifts if you're going to pursue CF seriously. It works for me because I do get easily bored with standard work out programs.

thanks for the advice. there is a crossfit gym about 45 min away from me. I think when our NROLW challenge ends in july, I will spend some saturdays over there learning the moves. I should be pretty fit by then, so I see crossfit as a way to challenge myself further. I really agree with the ideas behind it, and I think I will subscribe to the journal.

Monday 01/28/08

219 lbs

"Cindy"
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

14 complete rounds

The first 10 rounds where done in 12:49, the final 4 took almost 7:00. Pull-ups are the slow down here. I was able to do the first 5 rounds as unbroken sets of 5 reps. After that it was pretty much 3/2 until the last couple of 2/2/1 reps. Good workout, time to walk Eddie the Beagle.

Nice job bill. 14 rounds is really good considering you are dead hanging your pull-ups (if I recall). I kipped all mine this time just to push for time. I always feel like its kinda cheating, till the next day when my arms hurt like hell.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys. I was only able to keep up with Chris's one round per minute pace for about the first four rounds. After that my pull-ups broke down and cost me time. If you kept up that pace through the whole workout you really did a great job, kipping or not.

Congrats on the PRs and laying waste to Cindy. 14 rounds is respectable.

Have you seen what Kelly Moore has done on Cindy?

I saw......almost 34 rounds. Not bad for a 44 year old woman.

Bill,

I'm really impressed with your CrossFit routine. Very nice results.

I'm thinking about structuring my off-day calisthenics similar to a timed CrossFit routine. How many rounds in a 20 minute period type of deal.

Keep up the hard work!

Tuesday 01/29/08

218 lbs

Basketball-6 full court 10 minute games. Hating the big red headed asshole is making me play better. We used to have a nice group of guys who knew the unwritten rules of over 30 basketball. Now we have added a bunch of dicks who think it's the freekin NBA finals and that they have unlimited fouls to give. Oh well, it's still good exercise and a reason to drink a few beers with the guys I don't hate. Besides, I tend to get even eventually.

Thanks for the kind words guys and gals.

Tuesday 01/30/08

218 lbs

Bench Press 185 lbs
30 Reps for time
17:25

I started trying to do the 30 Clean and Jerk with 135 lbs WOD tonight but my left forearm really bothered me. My legs are trashed after 210 squats and basketball on back to back nights so I just kinda winged this.
