Glad to get back at it after a lazy weekend. Not sure why I was so lazy, guess all the rain. Oh well. I lost 1lbs last week and not much else, so I am still cutting pretty good I guess.
Are those giant sets with no rest done like supersets? Even like that they are KILLER!
Yes like what Tom said. All four exercises then rest 1 min then repeat 3 more times or 2 times depending on rep scheme.

Tell me about it! I dread the 20 box dead lifts.

Thank you. The marathon was really a great memory. So much of a memory I am having a hard time getting motivated to run again.
LOL. Did you have a hard time getting motivated after your first?

I tried my Philospher beer this week. VERY GOOD. Nothing like I thought it would be.
my first marathon was the start of my longstanding love of endurance sports. I am athletically promiscuous, so I have done a lot of different sports throughout the past decade. but running always seems to be a constant.
I think it is important to discover the forms of movement that really light you up! for some people, running just lights up the happy chemicals and for others it just doesn't as much. start to figure out what kinds of sport/movement that YOU love. experiment with different ones. think about the ones you used to like as a child and see if you can try those again. figure out if you prefer group or solo, inside or outside. so many choices!!
BTW, post marathon let down is normal, but usually passes by now. you will figure it out!

Thanks for that Wendy. I know I love running and will always love it. I am just really having a hard time getting back into it after the marathon and new job. I guess with my old job it gave me more time to do both weights and running and that is where I was the happiest. Now I am having a hard time doing both and the job. I am almost done with Fat Loss 3 and that will be the end of NROL. At that point I may just run exclusively for a few weeks to get back into it.
tocoy, sometimes the marathon training is just so darned involved that we runners can be in the all or nothing phase. jeff galloway himself told me that even a 10 minute run can hold some of your running adaptations. you don't have to run exclusively to get back into it--you could just keep a day or two a week of weights and keep them at maintenance and then run shorter, more intense workouts. one longish weekend run if you have time.
My first 3 day workout week in a while. My legs felt it for sure. The last set of regular back squats had me screaming. Still I am glad I got through it. Only 2 more of each workout to go.

The long run really helps clear the brain out.
Tcoy, I can appreciate finding a new balance for workouts as you change jobs. I went through that in late 06 with a new job, new baby, and a new city. I'm impressed with you sticking with, even if it's not your ideal balance of training. It will even out. But just doing SOMETHING is huge right now. (and, you're doing it quite well.) Kudos to you.

x2! Well, not the new baby or new city part. Change in routine is alwasy a challenge in finding a new workout groove. I feel like I'm finally hitting my new stride after dh moved back to 3rd shift and turned everything upside down! If you really enjoy running, by all means be sure to run just for the enjoyment of it!
Yep nice easy run... and I agree with everyone who are saying to just run for fun and keep it up during these times. Give yourself a break and some time to get used to the new job. You'll find the right balance with time...

Thanks Liftin. Its been tough so far. Mostly mental. This weekend I was just so beat and tired. I could have slept all weekend long, which is so not like me.

Yeah have fun with FL3. Its been a challenge. I will say though that it makes the workouts go fast, not resting in all.

Yeah, I have no plans right now to run any competitive race. I just want to get back to my 20 + weeks. This is the first time in a long time that my brain just wants to check out on workouts. I am finding it too easy to make excuses and that is not me.
I also really hate the Fat Loss workouts. I mean HATE THEM!! I can't do anything after them, so the running has taken a hit. I think the best balance for me was Hypertrophy type workouts and running to keep the pounds off while still gaining muscle. I remember during Hyp 1 dropping some weight due to a lack of eating enough. So I may go back to that style after Fat Loss 3. I got that mens health book you and Tom mentioned for christmas, so I think I will try that.
One more workout and I am done with NROL! I am glad to be done with the A workout. It is really the first time that I have hated a workout this much. Not sure totally what my next step is, but a break is in order for sure!
