I'm with you on the full body workouts being taxing. I have a lot of flexibility in my program in that I get to pick the exercises and I gravitate towards, squats and deads and rack pulls, etc. Some days I wear myself completely out. And yet when it comes time again I find myself doing the same ol thing. LOL! Alan told me that most his clients would have to be carried away on a stretcher if they did that to themselves. ROTFLMAO!

3 mile run with the dogs.
30:17

Nice easy run to get the dogs use to running and get myself in shape. We may go to the gym later on, so I will either do some more running or do the Fat Loss B workout.

Okay now... Looks to me like you have a good balance going on here of lifting and running. How is the fat loss going?

I misread this the first time and thought you were referring to your feet as "the dogs." Silly me. Glad you all made it through the run - dogs and feet included!

ehh, my diet is not where it needs to be. I think I am actually not eating enough on the weekdays and eating way to much crap on the weekends. So far I am about the same 180 lbs. Some days its less.

Alright enough is enough. I am not officially heavier then I ever want to be. I am done letting the job get the best of me. There is no way I can workout after work at I have no idea when I am going to leave. So I will need to workout before, meaning 5am gym sessions. So here goes a new plan. I am completely out of shape on both fronts. After the last workout my back hurt for 3 days, to the point that I could not walk very well or sleep.

I want to get back down to like 165 or so. Current weight is 181. I will start posting my fat, bmi, and other information that the Ormon scale gives.

The journey from the flab begins!

You know what to do! Good luck. I'm up at 5am every day to run. You get used to it. It really is nice to get it out of the way when you don't know how the day will go, or if you know you'll be late.

Good for you, tcoy! My husband's hours changed again which shifts my schedule, too. I'm having a hard time finding a new workout time.

Thanks everyone. I felt great yesterday all day long. It just feels good to be moving again and not making excuses for why I can't find time to work out. This also give me the chance to start cooking again as working out after work meant no time to make dinner. So my wife and I would try our best to scrape something together.

Warm up

1 mile (10 min)
dead lifts 1x5 at 135 lbs

Fat Loss 2 Workout 4B 3x10 with 60 sec rest

Snatch grip dead lifts
3x10 at 205 lbs

T push ups
3x10

BSS with over head press
3x10 at 20 lbs

Underhand Lat Pulldown
3x10 at 120 lbs

What can be worse then 5 AM workouts.... NROL B workout! Holy crap I am dead now. Looking back I added weight to the BSS/WOP and probably should not have. My arms can't move and when I walk, I look intoxicated. Going to be a interesting day at work now. LOL, but the workout is done and I am glad to be back at it. Hope the scale starts to move in the right direction.

4:30 AM workouts?

Man, your routines are looking good. And if they kick your ass at 5 am, then they are doing their job. Nice work, my man.

Thanks Mahler. That is true 4:30 would be even worse. I can do cardio that early, but a hard weight lifting workout makes me want to vomit. I will get use to it though.

Fat Loss 2 Workout 5A 3x8 with 60 sec rest

Front Squats
3x8 at 125 lbs

Cable Row seated (Wide Grip)

3x8 at 110 lbs

Shoulder Press

3x8 at 70 lbs

Supine hip extension

3x8 at 20 lbs

Dynamic Lunge

3x8 at 105 lbs

Upper body Russian twist

3x8 at 20 lbs

Cardio
3 miles in 30 min

Another good workout. My form is getting back to normal on the lunges. It seems the front squats force me to go really deep, which is a good thing. Overall I really like this workout much more then I thought going into it.

Weigh in Day

Weight = 179.2 (-2lbs)
BF% = 18.8%
Skeletal Muscle = 39.1%
Resting Metabolism = 1767
BMI = 24.3
Viseral Fat = 7

Less weight loss then I thought I would see this week. I normally can lose 4-5 pounds in a week. Not sure what the heck this means. Maybe its good though as I am probably not losing much muscle. I may go on nice 5 mile run today as its 63 out.

Running

2.5 miles in 24:22 sec.

I had tons of work to do on a database and a business plan, so I did not get out until late. I got in 2.5 miles before the sun went down.

Maybe more running tomorrow

I am betting the weight loss at only 2lbs is due to muscle. You are lifting pretty well to balance out all that running.

I thought about you yesterday. I walked into the gym and the gym owner (IFBB Pro trainer) was telling a client how cardio eats the muscle and to not do it. I miss running dearly but just cannot wrap my head around the conflict still. Such a hard balance.

Thanks I was hoping you would comment about that. I can tell that I have a lot more muscle under the fat then before. Its just getting it off to see it.

So does anyone have an idea of a good BF% for someone like me who is around 6'0?
