Marathon Training
14 miles in 2:26:26 (10:28) pace.
over all a good run. I did not get much sleep last night as we went out to dinner and a movie with some new friends. So we got home pretty late. I also thought I could push the refueling of carbs on my run and that proved to be a mistake. I learned that every 45 min is the best for me, specially in this heat. Next week is the peak of training. 40 miles per week and the big 20!!!

Thanks. It is suppose to be cooler this week, so that should help out. I plan on running Mon -Wed to give myself 2 full days of rest before the 20 on Sat. High Sat is only suppose to be 81, so if I get up early I should be fine.

Marathon Training
5 mile interval run (negative mile splits)
46:46 (9:19 pace)
mile 1 = 9:52
mile 2 = 9:39
mile 3 = 9:32
mile 4 = 9:08
mile 5 = 8:26
Beautiful day. 75 out with a nice breeze. I was a bit stiff the first mile. At that point I was just going to keep it nice and easy. By mile 2 it got better and I went for the negative split run. It felt great. My avg hr was only 153 max was 175 so I did not push it over the top, but enough that I felt that last mile.

OOoooooh. The big 20. I am thinking I would skip that puppy. Hey nice work on the marathon training. I cannot wait to hear about the actual race. It sure looks like you are going to meet all your goals.

Marathon Training
10 miles at race pace in 1:36:59 (9:42 pace)
Ahh this run felt amazing. The first 7 miles just flew by. I decided to really pick up the pace and hit a nice race pace run. The last mile I really picked it up for a 8:30 pace. My hr hit a max of 174 and averaged 153 so still pretty good. It must be the 75 degree weather out!

Marathon Training
5 miles in 49:05 (9:48 pace)
I was going for a nice easy run and I did. Or so it felt. I managed still hold close to my goal pace for the marathon, which is great because it felt so easy. I think my legs are starting to get in marathon shape from not lifting anymore.
I really miss lifting though. Its been now over a week since I finished Fat Loss 1 and I am going nuts. For this week though I have to force myself to rest though. 40 miles running is enough exercise I would think. Next week I will add a little weights back in to the taper. No legs just abs and upper body.

Marathon Training
20 miles in 3:29:00 (10:27 pace)
Laps
Elevation
Heart Rate
Wow that felt great. I did not even feel like I was running for the first 14 miles. It felt really good. Then miles 15 - 18 kind of hurt a bit. Then the last 2 felt strong again. I did what I set out to do. Finish 20 miles, do it in around 10:30 pace, and finish the last few miles faster then the start. Mission accomplished.
I then took a nice ice bath after. That felt so good when I got done. My legs are starting to come back now. Some lunch and foam rolling await.

Eat like a Mo' Fo' and kick back and rest for a few. That is what I do after anything more than 10 miles.
