Yay for food pr0n! Looks good - do you have a recipe?
I also notice the Yuengling Black and Tan - as popular as their Lager is, my favorite beer of theirs is their porter. Try some if you can.

Indian Lamb Curry Recipe | Recipezaar
I will have to check into that one. I don't know if they carry it in the stores around here. I see the light and the Lager all the time.
I think though that my beer and sweet tooth will have to take a break for awhile. I am going to start FL 1 on Monday and try to cut my calories back some. The first to go will be the beer and the ice cream (low fat of course). I want to get my weight down, while not losing muscle mass. So what calories I do eat, should be more inline with those goals. I also need to find some way to measure my bf%.
How much are those bf scales? and is there one that is better the others?
Time to get serious about this cut.

You're probably better off getting a bodpod or Dexascan done re: the bf analysis as they're far more accurate.
If they have the Lager and Light, they should be able to order the Porter I'd think.

I just read about that in another post. The only problem with that is I don't think I could use that for tracking my % very well. Don't those cost a bunch of money to have done? Although the scales maybe inaccurate, don't they offer the best way to trend your loss?
For me I will never be one of those crazy people that want to get to like 5% body fat or something like that and cry a river if I don't. From all my weight loss battles in the past I still have some stubborn fat around my lower belly that I would love see disappear. In the end, I love food too much!!

Easy, bud. While we are neither the south nor the north, we have some great grocery stores here.

I can only speak to what we have here in TN. I miss being able to get quality seafood that is not frozen and sold in bulk.

Kroger....that brings back some memories....we are fortunate in this area to have two decent supermarkets, a great farmers market, and a neat little seafood market that just opened up.
Hey, good luck with the cut. It's such a pain, but when you are serious about it and buckling down, it's totally doable!
re the scale. I have a tanita. Not accurate and fluctuates quite a bit Even for trending it seems iffy. So many variables affect it, like how much water I drank the night before, have I showered yet, what time of day is it, etc.

Thanks Mel,
Have you seen the ones that give a percentage of water also? I wonder if those are any better for trending.

Marathon Training
Long Run (Race Pace)
10 miles in 1:36:41 (9:40 pace)
Mile 1 = 9:58
Mile 2 = 9:43
Mile 3 = 10:08
Mile 4 = 9:58
Mile 5 = 9:53
Mile 6 = 9:50
Mile 7 = 9:57
Mile 8 = 9:27
Mile 9 = 9:03
Mile 10 = 8:36
Elevation
Average Hr = 137 Max Hr = 171
What a great morning. It was only like 63 out and no humidity. I took it easy the first 7 miles and then kicked it in gear at the end. I was surprised by the last mile. My Hr only got up when I was going up the hills.
These 10 miles felt so easy. Its the first time that has been the case. So it just proves that last weeks bonk fest was all due to the heat and not anything else. I hope its this nice out next weekend for my 15 mile run. I know I could have run twice as far today with the great weather.

3.5 mile walk
Just a little walk to work out any kinks from yesterdays long run. We took the dogs to the park and had a great walk. Time to start Fat Loss 1 tomorrow. I am not sure if the goal is like the other workouts to lift as much for the rep/rest range or to just go light. I think I will start with what I think I can do for the rep/set range. If my legs become to tired, then I will back down on the lower body workouts. Should be interesting. I am not use to doing upper body and lower body in every workout.

I was wondering whether you took advantage of the much better weather this weekend!
Sorry the Pig is falling short on your seafood choices. LOL! Our grocery store choices are extremely limited, since we live well North of Birmingham. It really comes down to the Pig and Wal-Mart. Birmingham has a Whole Foods Market, but talk about outrageous prices.
Have you checked with any Asian groceries or seafood shops for fish? There's a small seafood market in Birmingham owned by a Chinese man that sells good stuff and not too expensive.

tcoy, I'm curious about this cut you're doing. Once your miles start getting up there, you're really going to need those calories. I haven't read too far back in your log, so can you expound a bit? Is your main goal to lose weight?

Ahh you know the Pig too!! On the seafood thing. Its more of a matter of getting in fresh seafood. most of the places here have frozen stuff. I love shell fish and its horrible frozen. We do have a place that is a international market, but its kind of scary. Smells really bad, not a good thing when talking about fish.
What a week we have for running. Temps only in the high 80's this week.

Thanks for stopping by twinsandvikingsfan.
Its kind of a mini cut. During the past 10 months I have been doing NROL. I have finished all the Hyp workouts and Strength 1 and 2. The timing of the marathon does not bode well with me doing Strength 3. I have gained about 10 pounds of mostly muscle, but some fat during this time. I would like to cut to get back to about 165 - 168 before the marathon, but with as little muscle loss as possible. I feel that if I can drop a few pounds it will help me with the marathon. I will probably eat just under 2600 calories a day. Goal would be like 2400 - 2500. On days before and the day of the long runs eat more like 2700 (mostly carbs).
If you have any experience or thoughts, please share them. I am always interested in hearing peoples opinions on these things.
